If all you're using it for is gaming than the inputs looks like it will be enough. Right now on my new Samsung I have 3 composite, 2 component and 2 HDMI (plus a VGA input). I currently have my DVD player and 360 on component and my PS2 on composite. However, when I get the HD stuff from my cable company I'll have to make sure I have a DVD player that can use one of the HDMI input (and hopefully the DVR they give me will also have a HDMI connection so I can move the PS2 to component). Of course, if I ever get a PS3, I'll have to decide whether to put it on HDMI or component, in which case the DVR would go to composite.... excues me, I think my brains melting from the game of musical inputs I just found out I have ahead of me

I really don't like how they are going the route of throwing more and more villians in each movie. It gets to the point where what little story they have becomes a joke. I mean, these characters have years of storylines they can mine for backstory and filler and stuff, why cram them in to use as throwaway enemies?
Honestly, Sandman is pretty much a throwaway enemy anyways. Somehow I have the feeling the movie is going to have less action than what the trailer seems to let on. And I also have another feeling that the last scene in the trailer I just posted will be the last scene in the movie.

So the word on the street is that the campain is able to be played co-op by four people.....wow that sells it for me. I find campain play much more entertaining at times.....
4 people!? I mean, playing it solo in SP had me sold if the game's as good as the demo, but co-op with 3 more peeps, I am -so- in! Sooo...who wants to join me when I get the game? (which'll probably be around december when I have some petty cash to spare...HAH!) Other than being scared of potential matchmaking issues (I mean, good god Ubisoft totally fucked up GRAW and SC:DA from a online lobby-matchmaking POV)-I am convinced this will have more legs than GRAW. Based on the demo the SP looks to be awesome-rumor is it has full coop-the cover system is great, the teammate AI is vastly better than it was in GRAW (at least in that demo)-the weapons look and act well-and the level design is solid. Combine that with the great cover mechanics and the 3 in 1 attack-defend multiplayer mode that should spice things up past deathmatch, and I am just worried about splitting time between this, GOW, and COD3!!! well, if this is as good or better as GRAW it will definitely have legs. We still play GRAW occasionally, so I don't think you'll have issues find people to play with. Just avoid Jarrod- he like grenading people :slywink: damn, I didn't realize I posted all of that! I guess I zoned out while typing

I was checking out the forums for Gears of War and it sounds like the mic issue is not just with Gears, but some other games too. Supposedly the best solution is to disconnect/reconnect your wireless controller.

Yeah, you really gotta plug the hell out of the locusts on hardcore difficulty.
I still don't have the hang of hit-locations in MP play, though. I swear, every time I go toe-to-toe with someone, lancer v lancer, they put me down first. And I'm aiming for the head. Is there recoil, perhaps, that isn't being shown by the targeting reticule?
The single-player (and co-op, because I completed Act 1 with Calvin earlier today) is better than I expected it to be.
(this applies to MP) I know that this wouldn't be the case everytime, but perfect active reloads give you extra damage bullets. It could just be that you are running into someone who just shot off some rounds and has extra damage.... Sometimes I will randomly fire at the start just to get them....I know (Cheap) I didn't realize that. Alot of times I don't even think to double click the reload button.

Got some more MP in on my 'loaner' system. So far it seems like if you know where the sniper rifle is and you can get to it quicker than the other team you can pretty much own the map on some of them. Too bad the game doesn't randomize weapon drops, it would be really interesting. Also, the chainsaw seems to be kind of spotty. Sometimes it can be interrupted without a problem and other times there's no stopping it.

WTF! According to that link, this laptop - http://www.blackfriday.info/item/1571 from Circuit City is only $499. The problem? I just bought it today at $749.99.. Anyone know if I can bring my reciept back in on black friday and ask them to credit me back $250? Or is that just wishful thinking? Not too sure but I think that they have a price match policy that if they put it on sale within the next 30 days then they credit you back 110% of the difference. You might just want to stop in and ask because if that is the case it might be worth it to buy something in advance and take your reciept back in and say hey this went on sale give me my money and not have to stand in lines. Just a thought. Actually the one you linked to (the Acer) is listed as $599.99 now.

The guys on the OPM podcast were ripping the PS2 version pretty good, saying it didn't look much better than the infamous N64 one. Not good.
The key word in that statement is 'PS2'. The 360 version looks fairly decent. I'm planning on possibly grabbing it. oh, and to the crickets:

If we get to the point where we find the sniper rifle is making the game a bit unfair, can the host set a game up without that particular gun? I had read somewhere they were thinking of implementing this option, but I don't know if it made it in to the final game. I'm just curious if the option exists.
At the begining when the host sets up the game there is an option to swap weapons and in that option the host can take out the sniper. I think it is balanced. The only way to kill someone is a headshot. If you miss the reload is a bitch to get in time to hit take another shot at it. It definitely is extremely difficult (I don't think I have) to kill someone non-head shot with it.... Not to mention....there are 2 snipers per level on most of the maps. Of course you think it's balanced, you were the one taking off heads with it left and right! I think it will balance out better once we learn the maps and know where the likely sniper nests are and what routes to use to flank them. Heh, it's always funny when someone's in the middle of talking to you when they get nailed in the head. 'Hey, what kind of weapon is'<crack!>...... What you really need to do is learn to get the head shots from the hip (i.e. without zooming in). I got at least one doing that the other day. GAH! having no working 360 and talking about the game is driving me crazy. I have the feeling the Core system is in my future...

Check about 16 or so posts up. There's a penguin in Hetz's link, so therefore it is better! Thank god the Wii is so small, or my entertainment center (either the current one or the one I'm looking at getting) wouldn't be able to hold everything when I finally get around to getting them.

You will want to call and get a tracking number on that coffin. Same thing happened to me, except they told me about a week later that they no longer send coffins and that it got entered wrong. You can see my ongoing thread about it here. I'm planning on doing that. From what I've read on the XBox.com tech help forum it looks like they are only doing it for consoles manufactured in 2005 (built date on mine was 11-5-2006) as part of that 1 year warranty extension. I posted an update in to post over there but it seems the moderators have deemed not to post it so far. Basically I said the suggestion given by King didn't work, outright killing my console and that I thought it probably had something to do with the Fall Update giving the ability to use the 1080p resolution. I really wish I had copied it to a text file before I hit reply.

I am debating whether or not to grab a core system and sell back whatever they send me as a replacement.
You mean return whatever they send you as a replacement? What I meant is I'll make sure the replacement they send is working OK and then take it to EB for trade/cash, or maybe make it a X-Mas present for one of my friends.

It was a good 360. It loved to laugh, enjoyed scenic vistas and made beautiful music. It's life was cut suddenly short by a sudden Fall Sickness, and after several days on life support it let out it's final gasp, flashing it's three red lights and then fading away. Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet 360, And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest! The coffin is on it's way to my workplace. I am debating whether or not to grab a core system and sell back whatever they send me as a replacement. In the meantime Gears of War and Call of Duty 3 shall gather dust. On the bright side dealing with MS support only took about 5 minutes (mostly me misreading the teeny tiny serial number on the back of the 360). Well, looks like I'll have time to play Final Fantasy XII now, even though it feels like I am just settling for it as an alternative to play.

Boob - I can not WAIT to chainsaw your ass in Gears of War!
Is that replacing shooting players in the back? Activating the chainsaw when you're behind a teammate is a great way to make sure they're awake, especially in close quarters

It could be that playing at low res is taxing the system less or it isn't using some bit of video memory that's gone bad that only HD needs? *shrug* I could see the cable causing graphical corruption, but not freezing.
Now that makes a bit of sense. You're displaying a lot less pixels at a time, thus the console isn't being as pushed as hard as it otherwise would at 720/1080i/1080p. good point. I guess I'll be calling MS tonight. I think I might also pick up a core system w/ replacement from EB and just attach the HD and cables to that (I'm assuming you only have to send the console back for repair and not everything else?) so I can at least be able to play most of the games I have.
