+1.  that's why they're in my shopping cart and not already bought.  Payday is Friday so I'll decide then, but with Ultimate Alliance (and possibly Dark Messiah) coming out Wednesday plus the upcoming slew of games being released after the sale and my recent HDTV purchase I'm trying to rebuild my funds a bit.

I ordered my replacement from here and I got e-mail telling me they shipped it within an hour of my ordering.  I got it 3 days later (using the cheapest shipping method).  Everything I needed was in the package.  I can easily recommend them to get the new battery from.

I continue to be impressed with the 360.  Dead Rising is a fun game and the dashboard is really neat.  The offerings on LIVE are far more limited than I expected, but whatever.

Is there a way to soft reboot?

Other than exiting out to the dashboard and hitting play game none that I know of.  Just hit the dashboard button once and then hit Y to go to dashboard.

In Dead Rising, there seems to be no way to go back out and load up the save game if you botch something.  Is there a soft reboot on the console a la PS2 and DSL? Or do I have to exit to dashboard and then go back in?

I don't have DR so I'm not sure what options you have.

What's the point of Media Extender?  Why would I plug into my PC to watch TV through my PC/360 on my TV when I can just watch TV on my TV?

Is there a way to surf the web through Media Extender or is the sole functionality getting music on the 360 and viewing pictures?

As far as I can tell it's so you can stream video , music and pictures to your 360.  You can play your own music oiff your PC in game.  And AFAIK it's only one way to the 360- you can't send stuff to your PC.  There's no web browser on the 360, and honestly I hope they never do release one.  I can just imagine some PS3 fanboy fraktard writing a virus to take down 360's (if that's possible) 

Is there a snooze mode on Live where it logs you out after a certain period of time? It has only happened once, but I was playing Dead Rising and I got the pop up that I had disconnected.

Sometimes you'll just get randomly disconnected.  I had connection issues until I read a post on how to configure your router for optimal connection.  There's a thread somewhere in this forum started by Arkon on what to change.

Finally, is there a way to get more gamer pics without paying for them?

I think some gamer pics are free on the Marketplace, you just have to scroll through the themes/pics section to see what there is.  You can also create your own Gamer pic with the XBL Camera, but only people on your friends list will be able to see it.

well, it's on.  Since there's no TRU nearby I'm limited to online, but I have a bunch of games saved in the shopping cart ready to go if I do decide to get them (Guitar Hero, Kingdom Hearts 2 w/ Dirge of Cerebus for free).

I'd immediately scracth option # 2.  It's the same as option 2 in cost plus if you buy the other items option #3 makes alot more sense.  You can use the money saved on extended warranties for more games.

If only the local EBGames sold used 360 games for the same price the local used CD store does.  The used place has most used 360 games for at least 15 bucks cheaper than EB, and they're still running a buy 3 get 1 free used deal which I've been resisting until they have a decent 4th game (right now there's only 3 that I'm interested in- Dead Rising (40), Madden '07 (38) and Hitman Blood Money (38)).  I keep hoping a copy of Enchant Arms turns up there, but no luck so far.  Of course if EB had those prices I'd grab them in a heartbeat.

I think the same thing happened with the Smackdown vs Raw demo-  it never appeared under new demos and didn't even have it's own section so you had to dig for it.

I'm avoiding anything 360 related until my new TV arrives next week, so it'll be some Bully/Okami/Yakuza in between catching up on my DVR recordings and BSG 2.5.

Ended up tossing and turning all night, sweating my ass off.  I think I sweat it off.  I don't feel 100% today, but I don't feel like I'm coming down with anything either.

Same thing happened to me last night but I don't think I had a fever.  Of course I was exposed to someone with strep throat last week, but if symptoms haven't kicked in by now I think I'm safe from that.

dude, he's talking about Final Fantasy 13, so he has no worries.  If I grab this I'd be up for some co-op-  I usually play a Ranger.  However, there's so many games coming out within a week (or close enough) that it may be a delayed purchase.  We're talking Final Fantasy XII, Call of Duty 3, Rainbow Six Vegas and Gears of War (roughly 230 bucks of gaming goodness!)

They are two things - the component cable is for the HD picture and the optical cable is for surround sound.

Worth $30?  Maybe, but with caveats. 

I payed full price for it and got my moneys worth before I traded it in.  The secret is to find a good squad that plays regularly, like the one we had going here for awhile.  Mech creation isn't too bad once you get the hang of it, but that part got stale for me after awhile.  I also didn't care for the fact that they started charging M$ Point$ (100 per item) for weapons and stuff.  And forget about single player-  that SP there is almost seems tacked on at the last minute.

Well sonuvabitch.......     Oh well, if it's as great as they're saying it will be I'll just get one and give the one I just bought to some friends.

So after almost a decade of glasses I finally decided I'd had enough and I'm going to get Lasik surgery to repair my eyes tomorrow.  Anyone here have it done?  I'm kinda nervous...

I thought about it, but then I read about the procedure and realized I could never go through that myself.  You're a braver man than I am-  Good Luck 

1.  It takes the regular games forever to download.  I've got a pretty fast cable connections, and most of the newer games were still taking upwards of 2.5 - 3 hours to download.  Seems like that's a really slow DL speed. 

I noticed this too (with a 6mbps connection).  I ended up setting a bunch of games to download and then went to bed.  Games like Icewind Dale and Baldurs Gate stated they needed 2+ hours to download, while Sands of Time took 45 minutes (when I grabbed the Paraworld demo last night it took about 30 minutes for 1.2 gigs).

Needless to say I re-subbed this weekend with the buy 1 month get the next free deal for Sam & Max.  I can already see I'm not going to have time for it though....

Put me down as another 'depends'.  15-20 hours is perfect for a FPS while 30+ is perfect for an RPG and 10-15 for games like Tomb Raider or Max Payne.

Other than GRAW with the usual suspects on Friday night not much.  I re-subbed to Gametap (did the buy one month get the next free just to try it out again) for Sam & Max and fired up some of the older games on there (Planescape, Baldurs Gate, The Last Express, Sands of Time and SWAT 2).  Tinkered around with SoT but deleted it.  Fired up Planescape and Baldurs Gate but didn't really make it past the character creation and never made it to the other 2.

I am so looking forward to this game

I saw The Killer.  It was good, but I kept on getting the characters mixed up as it was my first real exposure to Hong Kong action movies and everyone looked the same at the time    I'm definitely going to have to watch it again.

The problem is that Microsoft doesnt understand what japanese want and they dont seem to know how to do business in Japan at all. I was hoping that Microsoft would do well in Japan this time but they screwed it up again. they need to buy a japanese company and let them run the japanese side of it with complete control. Launching the XBOX 360 with no JRPG's and no titles that the japanese really like was stupid, the big japanese games we heard about before launch are still not out, the japanese could care less if there is a WWII FPS and Madden on the system so the XBOX died hard in Japan again.

I have Bully pre-ordered, and I'm trying to find out if Justice League Heroes for the X-Box is backwards  compatible (I remember hearing that the graphics are better in the X-Box version) before I grab it.  I re-subbed to Gametap this weekend, so Sam and Max is a definite (probably not day 1 though as everyone will be trying to grab it).  I don't think I have to worry about the Forum Effect for SC:DA-  I'm a completist and since I haven't played the first 3 games I highly doubt I'll get sucked in.
