This game just looks weird. What niche in the crowded and WoW dominated MMO market is this supposed to fill? personally I'm looking forward to their 'Real Combat': So what is "Real Combat"? This is our revolutionary multi point melee system. This unique aspect of this system is that you swing your weapon where you direct it. This system will let the players direct, and combine, the swings of their weapon to create fancy, brutal and effective slashes and thrusts, or combine them in combos or special attacks that do additional damage. You should really "feel" the power of your character when you fight, feel the power of each and every blow.
"Real Combat" is easy to learn, and allows for a very different experience to both the slow studious nature of RPG combat and the 'twitch' nature of a first person shooter. When you pick it up the first time you might not even notice it as you happily slash and thrust away. With experience you might see certain attacks swinging better together. As you learn to string it into combos you become a dancing machine of brutal death. The same multipoint system is true for ranged combat and spell casting. In both cases the Real Combat engine allows you to string hits or spells together to form new fantastic effects.
The Real Combat will also work with mounted combat.

At my local EB if I don't pre-order a big release there's a very good chance I won't be able to get it on it's release day. It might have something to do with the big freaking college 2 blocks away and low unit allocations.

Gothic 3- doesn't seem to get much love but I'm loving exploring the world and don't mind the combat.
I tried The Outfit but I guess I'm just too burned out on the WW2 scene right now.

I still can't get the damn thing to download! Every time it just sits at 1% until it eventually craps out. I've started and restarted and cancelled and rebooted and everything else a couple dozen times and it still won't work. Why do they hate me? Why?
have you gone to the setup blade, checked the memory option and made sure it's not still on your HD? It may show up as 'unknown game' or something like that.

Can you please recommend, if such a thing exists, an upconverting DVD player sub 100$? Thanks man.
Sub $100? Maybe someone else can help but I had one that I think cost about $90, a Toshiba I believe, and it was awful. I ended up going for a $200 Oppo and have been much happier. Oppo also makes an excellent $150 player as well. I believe the Sony 5 disc changer many people here recommend is about $130-150 too. I'm happy with the one I linked to earlier. I got it at Radio Shack for $90. My only complaint is it doesn't display the disc play time on the LCD display- you have to hit the function button and it brings it up on the screen, but that's no biggie (for me at least)

My only impression is I wish the demo didn't time out at an hour. Bah....guess I will just have to play the full game..... The problem is do i play this of the H 3 Beta first......
That was an hour? it didn't feel like it. I was having so much fun I thought I only had been playing for 30 minutes or so.

I play games at 720p and watch DVD's at 1080i. I didn't notice a difference between 720p or 1080o with 360 games so I figured 'd go with the lower 720p so it would tax the system less (I'm not sure if 1080i taxes the system more though).
You have a good upconverting player? I'm considering getting one. i picked up the Sony DVP-NC85/H when i got my HDTV a couple months ago and it's a fantastic upconverting player. the picture quality is great (i'm using 1080i via HDMI), it has some other nice features, and the price is pretty good for a quality 5-disc upconverting player. it lists for $150, but i picked mine up for about $130 at BestBuy...seems to be on sale for about that price pretty much all the time at either BestBuy or Circuit City. i'm very happy with the player and would recommend it to anyone I was going to get that one, but when I saw it in the store I knew that there was no way it would fit in my current entertainment center and I had no real place to put it elsewhere, so I ended up with the Panasonic DVDS52S. It was cheap enough that I won't mind replacing it with something better down the road.

Yeah, I noticed that. In fact, I posted in your thread right after I created this thread. What's the etiquette? Should I have deleted the thread? I thought it was 'Smack Calvin over the back of the head with a metal chair for being dumb', but I may have my rules and guidelines mixed up.....

Little Miss Sunshine is one of those movies where you're smiling just about the whole way through. Really, it's a film about family and the importance of sticking together. It's a fantastic film and I'm glad it's up for picture of the year.
so it's a film you can only properly enjoy if you have a vagina?

The microtransaction thing on The Godfather strikes me as just another way for people to cheat their way through a game instead of naturally unlocking those things. While I agree it's stupid to do that, I can't say that would detract from his enjoyment of the game. None of those things are needed for anything other than being a god right from the start and that takes away from the fun. I agree with the exception of the way the micro-transactions are implemented. Unless you know ahead of time what to avoid, you just talk to a random henchman or weapon salesman on the street and boom you're switched to the dashboard and taken to the marketplace asked if you want to spend some real world cash... err... points. The way it is integrated, yet not very well integrated, into the game is what bugs me. Oh damn, I didn't realize that's how they implemented it. Way to make yet another retarded move, EA. 'Grats. Makes me glad I decided not to wait for the 360 version and acquired it for the PC for alot less.

Pretty fascinating, actually. I couldn't figure out how to save any of them, though.
I tried doing it with some screenshot software, but this computer doesn't have any software I can use to crop the picture (nobody wants to see my desktop and taskbar). you don't have MS paint? that's all I used.

I've only seen 3 movies on that list: Achievement in visual effects PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST POSEIDON SUPERMAN RETURNS
Poseidon and Superman Returns both sucked while I loved Pirates, and those are the only movies on that list that I've seen. I guess I can safely skip the Oscars this year.

wow, this is a creepy game. I don't think I've ever been creeped out by a game before but right now this one seems to be hitting all the right buttons and I'm only a hour into it on the 360 courtesy of backward compatibility. Now I just need to track down the next two FF's. I know the second game came out on the XBox, but was the 3rd PS2 only? Oh, and I can't wait to see what these guys can do if they ever decide to do a Fata Frame on the 360 or PS3
