Wrapped up the main story in Crackdown, played a bit of Zelda (about 7 hours in so far) and some Trauma Center (bah, I can't cut in a straight line on that game to save my life!). Other than that I finally caught up on the rest of my DVR recordings (we hateses you HBO for cancelling Rome! HATESES!!!) and finalized my search for my first laptop.
Oh, I also fired up Gametap for the first time in a month and played some Gun Metal and attempted to run Nocturne, which apparently has some graphics/gameplay issues- everyone was a shadow and one of the beginning cutscenes wouldn't run due to the in game characters trying to go through a door at the same time. I played through it before when it came out and didn't have any issues. Oh well, I guess playing it once was enough. I also grabbed the latest Sam & Max episode from them even though I still haven't gotten around to finishing the first one yet.

Anyone here old enough to remember its predecessor, Adventure Construction Set? Now that was some ancient RPGing. I had a notebook where'd I'd meticulously plot out adventures for that so I could create them on my C-64. Of course I never actually got around to making anything.....

I love this game too. LOVE. IT.
I started playing last night and before I knew it, it was after 3 in the morning. It's so much fun.
Stop it. It won't work. I'm NOT buying this game. You're probably right in not picking it up- the game would be too much for you. It'll be best if you just skip it.

Also, what weapon are you guys using when you get towards the end of the game? I end up using the one that looks like an M-60 because it holds 80 bullets in the clip and 800 total. It seems to be as powerful as any of the others (if not more so) and I can't hit headshots for shit unless I'm right next to the guy or using the scope. My Firearms skill is 4 stars, too.
I was using the same gun, but I actually ran out of ammo near the top of Wang's tower and ended up using a random gun and the Hothead missle launcher. My other gun was the Firefly launcher- I picked it up very early in the game and kept using it. I didn't get Firearms to 4 stars though becaues I used the Firefly alot.

I saw one award for throwing something more that 200 or so feet, but with my strenth maxed out nothing I ever threw probably went more that 100 feet. Was there something that I was missing?

My narrator is starting to lose it. I climbed the Agency tower, and he said "Look at that, Agent! Finest view in the city!" With a 360 degree panorama of all the islands, I couldn't agree more, what a nice little sound bite they programmed in!
And then a few minutes later, I jumped on top of a small gas station that I've repeatedly stood on since the start of the game. ""Look at that, Agent! Finest view in the city!" Well, I guess it's a nice view of that strip club across the street?
A bit later when I was trying to grab an agility orb on a pipe, I accidentally fell into the water in some industrial area. "Look at that, Agent! Finest view in the city!" Err...
The last straw was when I was attacking a boss and I needed to find some cover to recharge. I duck into this small windowless room, and sure enough: "Look at that, Agent! Finest view in the city!"
This guy needs a vacation!
Yeah, my Narrator was kind of wonky too. I loaded up the game and stepped away for a moment. So there's my guy, staning there, not moving at all, and the Narrator chimes in 'Great Ascent Agent!'. I have to look back into the room to make sure the game isn't playing itself. One thing they need to do in CD2 is refine the targeting system. Too many times I ended up targetting a corpse on the ground or an enemy that was further away from me than the guy right in my face trying to unload a shotgun into my chest.

well, killed the last boss with everything but driving and firearms maxed out. The ending was kinda interesting, but for now I've got too many other games to play to worry about 'achievements' and 'gamerscore' to go back and try everything.

I can totally see Sony releasing a patch disabling the PS2 hardware across all models once the emulation software is released. yeah, i deliberately got the ps3 ahead of schedule as much to get one with the ps2 hardware on board as anything, & will also be pretty damned disappointed if they do indeed disable it - it's worked perfectly since the last update... One reason why I'll be avoiding updating my PS3 like the plague. Yeah, I might lose out on the ability to play online and access their store (although there's ways around that already that I've seen), but I'd rather keep my 99.9% backwards compatibility. If they do I'm sure someone will probably hack the firmware like the did with the PSP and release it.

I'm working on that too - I've got a good chunk of em, just trying to figure out how I'm going to pop 25 tires in 60 seconds... (I'm also sitting here working on the review as I write this)
car jack 25 cars, line them up and open fire at the wheels? I found a much easier way for this, and several other achievements. I created a thread for folks who need a nudge in the right direction. My high jump double flip simultaneous achievement was genius I must say.... Actually I was in one of the Volks compunds last night and found about 8 of their 6 wheel vehicles parked side to side. Seeing as the compound had already been cleared I took my gun and popped all the tires in under a minute. It said something about a 'sub achievement unlocked' so I'm guessing it's one of those little in game surprises that doesn't show up anywhere else.

coolness! When mine died they didn't say anything about a code and just had me send it in (not that it mattered, I was only without for a day). I'll have to keep the code handy just in case. Weird. I saw you on last night while I was playing crackdown. I may have actually witnessed your console's death.
I was on playing Crackdown last night and I don't remember seeing him at all. I did get an invite from Pete sometime before I went to bed but I must have missed the pop up since I didn't notice it before I went to shutdown for the night.

Yes. Responding to the topic with tangential questions/comments is infinitely less of a derail then ATB's 'PWNED' pictures good sir don't worry, he got his. He just doesn't know it yet not you Pete, ATB. Don't worry, you're safe I could never do anything to hurt you pumpkin (and no, I wasn't refering to his 360 dying. I'm a civilized man after all).

Did any of you even play Wing Commander??? This looks like a complete disaster to me. No cockpit view, and it's not even 3d - you're confined to a 2d plane. Fun as a silly little diversion maybe, but attaching the Wing Commander name to it is a disgrace. OK, seeing it in action and not just screenies changes things. On the plus side it was cool to see the old Wing Commander cut scenes again.

I didn't know about the area specific targeting and wondered about those little icons that appear next to health bars meant. of course if I had bothered to read the manual before hand I'd probably have known....
I'm loving this game. With my strength and agility maxed out I feel like the Tick leaping rooftop to rooftop. I've wiped out the first gang and have been taking on the second and third gang simultaneously (so far I've got 2 of each defeated). I went over into Wangs territory and got the nice rocket launcher they have, plus that's where I almost maxed out my agility with the '3rd rank' orbs littered about.
Last night I ascended the Keep and got 2 achievments associated with getting up top and jumping off (surviving the fall probably helped). I was hoping there'd be more up top but I didn't see anything and I don't plan on going back up- I was getting a real feel of vertigo as I ascended and the path to the top wasn't very clear at some points.
I may try some co-op, but for the game I'm on I turned it off and I don't know if turning it on will reset the game, especially since I don't see an option for saving multiple games at once.

How guys have no idea how much I would love to play some R6V with you. Nobody ever invites me though and I have never played against anyone from here. If you guys see me on, please, shoot me an invite and lets play.
It's funny, when we were playing alot I kept looking for you but never saw you. After awhile I realized it was because you weren't actually on my friends list at the time I really need to get back to playing Vegas though- I don't think I've touched it since before the first update.

yeah, if you're going to do anime style characters you might as well go akll the way with the backgrounds too. Personally play Wii Golf has spoiled me so I can't see getting any golf game on any other console (or did they make it so you could use the SixAxis the same way?)
I'm sorry dude, but as fun as some of those Wii Sports games are (and yes, I have played several), there is absolutely NO comparison to the way Wii golf plays compared to a complex simulation like TW. I tried TW and it was OK, but I've had more fun with Wii Golf. I'm not a big sports game player (I've only bought ESPN NFL25K and some NFL 2003 game on the XBox (both of which only got about a weeks playtime) so I can happliy give up the complex simulation portion for the fun factor. Would Wii Golf be as entertaining for me without the WiiMote controls? probably not. Will that make me only try sports games on the Wii? probably not (I've been thinking of trying a baseball game, but that discussion would be for another thread).

I'm more concerned about the stuff that I can't change manually, like my DVR or cell phones. Other than that I probably have about 6 or 7 things I'll need to change manually.
