Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / CG Music Thread - What are you listening to?

Gotta pimp this CD one last time. I bought it months ago, listened to it non-stop for a couple of weeks, then put it on the shelf after purchasing some newer music. Recently, however, I pulled it out again and it hasn't left my player since. Allmusic.com summarizes the album thusly: The singer/songwriter brings a variety of influences to his rock & roll — influences ranging from blues and Memphis soul to punk to country, and that country influence isn't surprising when you consider that his father is country star Bobby Bare Sr. But the younger Bare is hardly a carbon copy of his famous dad; while Bare Sr.'s name is synonymous with country, Bare Jr. is primarily a rocker with country influences. At times, From the End of Your Leash can be a little too self-indulgent for its own good, but that's only a minor problem — one that is easily outweighed by the warmth, humanity, and soulfulness that Bare Jr. brings to this generally memorable CD. Dig in and thank me later.

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Favorite GG moment

One of my favorite memories was someone who posted a thread entitled "Bathroom Behavior (is this odd?)". He talked about using the urinals, and flushing them before he was finished, then trying to race to beat the flush to finish. Then a bunch of other people posted in the thread that they did that too. And I thought it was just some weird, maladjusted behavior that I engaged in every once in a while.
That was the moment I truly realized that I am indeed a member of a Brotherhood of Man here on this planet  I am grateful that I could, in my own small way, bring the community closer together.

Most of my posts were done in EBG, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy lurking in R&P. In between the occasional trollish posts, there were many well-argued and enlightening discussions on topics ranging from evolution to the war in Iraq to the hottness factor of the presidential candidate's daughters. I'd hate to lose access to all the interesting perspectives I encountered in R&P.

Nothing new, unfortunately. Mostly, I'm listening to Gaelic Storms's "How Are We Getting Home," Carbon Leaf's "5 Alive" and some miscellaneous Townes Van Zandt songs. I got a free Bloodshot Records sampler, but I've yet to try it out.
Can't go wrong with a little TVZ. As for that Bloodshot Records sampler, I'm guessing there's probably a song or two of the recent Bobby Bare Jr. album I've been playing so much lately. Let me know what you think...

Good game stiffler! Our defenses were really solid in the first half, holding each other scoreless. At that point, my QB Kyle Boller had 0 passing yards. Pretty pathetic... Anyway, we both picked it up in the second half, and the whole game was hard fought until the end.
Can't wait for week 3. If my memory serves me correctly, I think I take on none other than TML!

Hmm, not the overwhelming endorsement I was hoping for, but then again, I'm a fan of bizarre and quirky films, even when they don't completely work. I might wait for to rent it on DVD, however...

Getting lots of current airtime around the Caveman's lair:
Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous Drive-by Truckers - The Dirty South Stay out of my room! I haven't put Soft Bulletin in for awhile, though. Toss in XM Radio (66 Raw) and you have my listening habits for the time being. Stiffler, if you like those 3, aren't the odds good that you'll like the other disc I mentioned? Bobby Bare Jr's record is damn good, and even though I bought it 3 or 4 months ago, I still can't stop listening to it. C'mon, give it a spin!
