1201  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / US v.1.50 PSP exploit to be released tomorrow morning? on: June 20, 2005, 07:26:36 PM
Does anyone know of any guides available on the net that can instruct a complete and utter noob on how to do this swap trick? The thought of playing Punchout on my PSP is quite enticing, so I'd like to give it a try, but I know nothing about eboot files, emulator files, and the like.
1202  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / US v.1.50 PSP exploit to be released tomorrow morning? on: June 15, 2005, 03:53:15 PM
I must be of sub-par intelligence, because I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work. (I am, for the record, a complete noob when it comes to things like this).

I install the mswap tool, but when I click on pbp file, I can't seem to locate the "eboot" file. Instead, it goes straight to looking in my document folder. If I can't follow the simple instructions on the pdf that came with the program, perhaps this all is a bit out of my league.

Aren't there small attachable speakers you can buy for an Ipod to serve the same purpose?

yes there are, but that doesn't help if you want to listen to the radio once in a while.  that said, there are a number of other mp3 players on the market that do have FM/AM tuners built in now...

I have yet to find a decent mp3 player with an AM tuner. Believe me, I looked!

I haven't had a single technical problem yet, even after about 10 hours of play.

I had a screen protector disaster. I first got the pelican one and was dissatisfied with the way it dimmed the brigtness of the screen. I ordered another brand online that supposedly was much more lucid, but I totally flubbed my attempted to put it on the screen. It then instantly began to pick up dust and dirt. No problem, I thought, this thing is supposedly washable. I tried washing it, but all that did was remove the protectors ability to stick back to the screen. Argh! Anyway, I'm currently not using a protector. I do, however, have the logitech case which I love, and it does a good job of protecting the screen when I'm not playing.

Was that the Javo one?

No, it wasn't that one... I'll have to go through my trash later to figure out which one it was.

Oh, and btw, I bought the logitech case online from Gamestop.

Got the game today and I'm really liking it so far. Batting has been a bit difficult for me, but I think I'm already starting to show some improvement. The "guess pitch" feature really adds a lot to the gameplay. Anyway, if anyone wants to try an online game sometime, I'd be up for it!

1220  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / How I got me a PSP! on: March 26, 2005, 10:46:04 PM
If I had tons of games that I knew I wasn't going to play again, I would have done the same thing. I've been lusting after a PSP (against my better judgement), but I can't rationalize the cost at this point. I'm no collector of games, so if I had the chance, I would have done the exact same thing Rob did. In fact, my brother and I just got a free copy of God of War by trading in 3 or 4 games we haven't touched in months. Sure, with some initiative, we probably could have got a lot more money for the games, but when you want something NOW but don't want to pay for it, trading in old media isn't a bad deal.

1222  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Vanity Fair editor tears Bush a new one on Fox News on: January 21, 2005, 04:37:20 PM
Quote from: "Autistic Angel"
I completely agree with naednek and Graham: what a godawful bitch!  Leave it to the whining, secularist left to try and diminish George W. Bush's commanding re-election victory by trying to refocus all the attention on the grave danger of our troops and their woefully inadequate supplies and equipment!  Liberals will do literally anything to attack our president, and apparently that even includes forgoing legitimate discussion of style, decor, and cuisine just so they can hijack the interview and complain about the lives of our troops.

This is why the liberals lost and will always lose.  George W. Bush understands something that they never will: that the greatest act a soldier can perform is to give his life in service to our country.  And rather than honor those sacrifices, all the liberals want to do is whine and hand-wring over the fact that they died by combing over minutiae like body armor funding and vehicle armor manufacturing.  Disgusting!

President Bush won, and he won because of moral values.  Deal with it.  These pathetic attempts to question the conviction of his morality by comparing his words against his actions is as tiresome as it is transparent.

I think the real news story here is how the Vanity Fair bitch represents yet-another attempt by the secularist liberal left to diminish the importance of God in our society by sarcastically questioning the value of a prayer service to protect our troops.  Where is the New York Times headline reading Vanity Fair Bitch Decries Prayer Service As Nothing But Lip Service; Says Troops Don't Need God's Support[/u]?  When can we expect the Washington Post to publish a front-page article on all the soldiers God *did* protect from harm yesterday?

Finally, I just wanted to thank Graham for posting the links and quotes about Barbara Boxer and Condoleeza Rice.  I'm sure most tunnel-visioned liberals won't understand what, if anything, that has to do with this thread, the war, the inauguration, Fox News Channel, or Vanity Fair, but that's because they're incapable of reading between the lines and seeing how it proves that that Vanity Fair woman is such a bitch!

1223  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Vampire Quest Help Thread-Spoilers!!!! on: December 10, 2004, 09:51:32 PM
I haven't read through this whole thread, so pardon me if this has been mentioned before but...

I'm having some issues where I complete a quest and it indicates at the top of the screen that I've gained some experience points, but when I go to the character screen, no experience points have been allocated. This just recently happened to me during the "arguing sisters" encounter.

Edit: I just reloaded to right before that section, and I figured out that if I go to the character screen immediately after the experience is allocated, it's there waiting for me. However, if I allow the game to auto-load the next scene (placing me in front of the asylum), I only get 1 instead of 3 exp. points. Bizarre.

1235  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / [P]Global Test on: October 25, 2004, 03:46:27 PM
I'm sick of this crap. The Bush administration is outright lying when they talk about Kerry's "Global Test" comment and they know it.

Here is what Kerry said:
Quote
No president, through all of American history, has ever ceded, and nor would I, the right to preempt in any way necessary to protect the United States of America. But if and when you do it, Jim, you've got to do in a way that passes the test—that passes the global test—where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you're doing what you're doing, and you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons.

Wow, imagine that: if we go to war, we should be able to demonstrate that it's for legitimate reasons! What a concept!

And here is how Bush has distorted it to conform to his bravado image:

Quote
He said that America has to pass a global test before we can use American troops to defend ourselves. That's what he said. Think about this. Sen. Kerry's approach to foreign policy would give foreign governments veto power over our national security decisions. I have a different view. When our country is in danger, the president's job is not to take an international poll. The president's job is to defend America. I'll continue to work every day with our friends and allies for the sake of freedom and peace. But our national security decisions will be made in the Oval Office, not in foreign capitals.

Ugh.

Sorry we lost you, Rob. Jancelot, Simon and lildrgn all stopped by at one point or anther and we had some really tight races. After losing first place at the last second on two separate occasions, I would like to declare myself the official GG PGR2 choker. The worst was going around that last curve screaming, "I shall have the glory of first place!" only to see Driver nose past me at the last possible moment. The standings confirmed my shame: I choked and lost by .1 seconds.

In any case, I'm up for racing again soon (and yes, Driver, I have Paris & Long Beach  smile ).
