*bump*
Where are you, ATB? You've been delinquent in your posting duties! Forums seem especially dead these days and I more than admit to being a part of the problem. I'm sure there's a more recent thread than this but I couldn't find it. What did surprise me is that this thread was made back in 2006! Have the troubles really been going on for as long as all that? I thought 2006 was the glory days. I figured that things took a downturn in the past couple of years. I'm still around but I don't post as much as I used to on any forum but I do spend most of my browsing time on the QT3 and Broken Forum forums and a little bit but not too much on OO.  What's everyone else doing these days?

Wow.... I posted this almost 2 weeks ago and nothing?  Nobody's even posted anything in here since I posted...  What has happened to this site...?

Everyone probably started posting as little as 3 times between June 2015 and June of 2016....

Well, reviews are hitting (currently 73% on Rotten Tomatoes...still Fresh).  The consensus so far seems to be about what I expected: Not terrible, but not as good as it should be with the people involved (or compared to the original).

I hear that there is a review embargo. Is it possible that all the negative reviews are being held back until the opening day? I see its 76% on Rotten Tomatoes which certainly seems higher than I would have expected. I don't really have any horse in this race as I possibly saw parts of Ghostbusters when I was a kid but I don't think I've ever watched a whole movie and don't really remember it if I did.

I picked up Rise of Nations:EE and Defcon for a little more that $5 total. I'll probably pick up a few more things but nothing very new.

I believe the Android and Apple apps are up now. Nintendo's done the typically Nintendo thing and rather than  simply adding people to your friends list, you first have to be friends on some other social network. Since I don't want to fill up my Facebook account with tons of people I don't know in real life, I was thinking twitter would be the best way to go.  I'll add anyone who posts their twitter handle here and please add mine!

my twitter handle is: @brendaninjapan.

I don't get the love.
It seems like a little app you might run on a I-phone.

But hey, if this is gaming Nirvana for some, then so be it.
I didn't get it either. I won't say it's not a game for me but it is not  a game for me at the present time. I'm going to return it and maybe pick it up again at a later time. There must be something there though. 300,000 people can't be wrong.

Looks very intriguing, thanks for the heads up. I just bought Pandora from the Steam Slitherine sale so I'm going to spend time on that. Also, this is the type of game that just screams 75% off sale so I'm probably going to wait for the inevitable.

1. Obstructionist Repubs should be hanged for treason
2. Hang them again. The constitution is written the way it is for a reason.
3. Hang them a third time. If repubs obstruct until the next pres in hopes that repubs win the election. Wonder who Trump would nominate <shivers>
4. If clinton wins and she puts Obama up, he will NEVER get approved. Ever. EVER.
5. America is hosed.

As a Libertarian leaning person I would actually be more likely to vote Republican in the next election if they do get a new Judge confirmed this year. The reasoning is simple. It would tip the court to a 5-4 liberal balance (something we haven't had in a VERY long time). The next president will then more than likely get to pick 1 or 2 more new judges. If we get a Dem president the Supreme Court could very likely go 6-3 liberal by 2020. This is something  I do not want. On the other hand if they confirm somebody and then a republican wins the election then the court is more likely to stay relatively balanced 5-4 one way or the other. Balance is better, especially when there are truly middle of the road judges who can put the law above politics (Think the opposite of Thomas).

As it stands though if the Republicans block just for the sake of blocking then I will most definitely not be voting republican in the presidential election.
ActuallyI think the older Supreme Court justices are mainly on the Liberal side so even if a Democratic president were elected the balance would probably not shift much (unless Obummer keeps assassinating judges).
13  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: Re: Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia died today on: February 14, 2016, 08:13:24 AM
I would love to see it. The Republicans seem like they're between a rock and a hard place here. They can basically hope (unrealistically) that they'll take over the Presidency. Every other option is lose for them. If they try to run out the clock, I wonder if undecideds/independents would make them pay for it in the Senate race. That could mean that not only would a Democratic President get to choose but they also wouldn't be able to filibuster and would have no means to negotiate for a more middle of the road justice.

Agreed.  Dead is my interest in paying $15 for a game I already have and could play on pc for a third of Sony's asking price.
Double agreed. Those games should be $5 each. Maybe something like $9.99 for FF12.

That's hard to believe as every review I've read describes it as "only a little heavier than the original ipad".

Picked up my Pro today.  Haven't done anything with it yet but it just seems incredibly huge.  I mean I know it really isn't that big (And it's surprisingly light even in the box) but it just looks like a weird oversized iPad lol.

Annoyed that the Pencil and Keyboard weren't available for pickup, what the f is up with that?

If they go high end in hardware this thing is DOA. Nintendo will be fools if they try to go head to head with MS and Sony. It's a waste of time. They need the affordable second system that can play their 1st party games which don't need Cryengine graphics to be enjoyable.

They already made that console.  It's called the WiiU.  icon_razz

That's exactly right.  It didn't work.  They need to compete at this point.  If only to get third party titles back on Nintendo systems.  That's killing them, probably more than anything.

But that's what has always killed them. At least back to the Gamecube, if not the N64. What are they going to do differently this time?

My problem is the limits in customizing. Say for example I want an i7, but I want to keep the cost down and go for 128GB of RAM. Can't do it. Or maybe I want to stick with the M3 but I want a lot of memory to go with it. Can't do it.

I'm excited for both. But the Book is out of my price range and I probably don't really NEED a detachable tablet. So maybe I'll get the new iteration of the Dell XPS13.

I don't see the ipad pro being successful among general consumers. Yeah, yeah, naysayers have said that about every apple product. But $800 for the most basic version without the keyboard or stylus?
I for one find my ipad air too big as it is. I'm sure a few people will buy it to read their comics and some artists will find use for it but I don't see this as solving Apple's decreasing ipad sales problem.

Sigh.   It was actually more even (head to head) with me making it to 6 and you being in the teens (on the ladder) I could actually give two shits about that (focus on 2 shits, because that's a theme about my feelings regarding GT).

This is a sad liberal, left leaning, heavy handed pig sty that I'm ready to be banned from.  In some ways Ron should actually thank me as my banned/moved threads have as many views as any.

Poking the pigs is how I honestly have thought of it the past 3 years.

You delusional fools.  You'll have conversations with your grandkids discussing what the hell happened to our Country, maybe still not realizing you lead to the fall.

Ignorance at it's sad best.  Anyone that thinks Obama has been anything but a failure is an absolute brain dead chimp (not racist you PC idiots).    Not even a democrat vs republican thing at all, a good vs ignorant evil thing.  I'd not hire this piss-ant fool of a president to do anything, much less run the most powerful country on earth.   This tool only order flags to be taken to half staff today, yet posted a rainbow whitehouse  immediately.  The chickens have and will continue to come home to roost (quote from your President's "Pastor", which you all likely forgot, as you ignored it when you voted for this lunatic).

Good Night  to the wonderful desolate, desert GT.

Good times were had here, but that time is over.

Chris

I think the key is attracting the new blood rather than trying to keep the old cynics around. If the forums are fresh then the old guys will stick around anyways.
