I'm excited for both. But the Book is out of my price range and I probably don't really NEED a detachable tablet. So maybe I'll get the new iteration of the Dell XPS13.

I think I prefer the original although Nolan North is better doing the funny lines.

I don't see the ipad pro being successful among general consumers. Yeah, yeah, naysayers have said that about every apple product. But $800 for the most basic version without the keyboard or stylus?
I for one find my ipad air too big as it is. I'm sure a few people will buy it to read their comics and some artists will find use for it but I don't see this as solving Apple's decreasing ipad sales problem.

Sigh.   It was actually more even (head to head) with me making it to 6 and you being in the teens (on the ladder) I could actually give two shits about that (focus on 2 shits, because that's a theme about my feelings regarding GT).

This is a sad liberal, left leaning, heavy handed pig sty that I'm ready to be banned from.  In some ways Ron should actually thank me as my banned/moved threads have as many views as any.

Poking the pigs is how I honestly have thought of it the past 3 years.

You delusional fools.  You'll have conversations with your grandkids discussing what the hell happened to our Country, maybe still not realizing you lead to the fall.

Ignorance at it's sad best.  Anyone that thinks Obama has been anything but a failure is an absolute brain dead chimp (not racist you PC idiots).    Not even a democrat vs republican thing at all, a good vs ignorant evil thing.  I'd not hire this piss-ant fool of a president to do anything, much less run the most powerful country on earth.   This tool only order flags to be taken to half staff today, yet posted a rainbow whitehouse  immediately.  The chickens have and will continue to come home to roost (quote from your President's "Pastor", which you all likely forgot, as you ignored it when you voted for this lunatic).

Good Night  to the wonderful desolate, desert GT.

Good times were had here, but that time is over.

Best final post ever.

Life has definitely caught up with me.  Marriage, kids, etc. Plus my forum viewing is a little more diversified these days. I think the key is attracting the new blood rather than trying to keep the old cynics around. If the forums are fresh then the old guys will stick around anyways. Perhaps these days though young people have other outlets.

Give your money to someone who knows what they're doing. That's what I do. The trick is to start early and play the long game. It's not seem but it works. Of course the secret is to start as early as possible (like 20) because that last doubling period (every 10 years at 7% with the rule of 72) is when your money goes from a decent amount to an outrageous amount.

You Tubers (the big ones anyways) should get together and form some kind of association / union which would give them a bit more force to protect themselves. You get a few people boycotting and that's not going to stop anyone. But a united group of the top 500 let's players? That might give them pause.

The Football Manager guys have resurrected their Eastside Hockey Manager series.
If you like hockey or you don't but enjoy playing FM then I would recommend picking this up. It's currently Early Access so it only costs about $11 until April 9th!
I don't know when I'll ever get around to playing it but I wanted to vote with my wallet for more hockey manager sims. No licenses but it sounds like you can already sideload the data if you want.

Don't forget when the iPad was announced there were a ton of detractors.  Many many people, reviewers and regular folk alike, were all generally pretty negative, or at best, they "didn't get it."  I saw all the same arguments: it would be obsolete in a year, there wasn't a "need" for it, it was too expensive, etc etc.  And look at how it fared regardless.

Granted you might argue this is a very different animal since it's entering a market that pre-exists.  But then again, I could argue that was the same with the original iPhone.  Like them or hate them, Apple knows what they are doing.  More importantly, they are willing and able to adapt to user feedback, and continue to improve their products on all fronts, software/OS, apps and hardware.

My prediction: they will sell like hotcakes and there will be no stock available for the first few months. You'll see famous stars wearing the gold ones on TV and movies.  By Christmas it will be the hot ticket item.

P.S.  My heartbeat is coming for you, Lee!!!
I would never bet against apple but I am skeptical. I was wrong about the ipad but the ipad really did something new and had no real competition. Android watches have a huge headstart and so far the Apple watch doesn't seem to do anything special that the Android watches don't. The fact that a iphone is required means that a huge swath of the population won't be able to buy one even if they wanted to.
Obviously it isn't going to fail. But I don't see it selling like hotcakes (is there a definable number for that?) and I wouldn't touch the first gen with a 10 foot pole.

34  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: Re: NEW 3DS and XL on: February 15, 2015, 02:28:15 PM
Actually there has been quite a lot of complaint over that. But the Japanese and the Europeans have been putting up with it since the introduction of the 3DS I believe so you won't get much sympathy from them!

First thing that struck me was how low res the screens are. I guess I'm just used to cell phone screens.

I don't get how Nintendo gets a complete pass on that from all the review sites.  I read somewhere online (in a comment not an article so take from that what you will) that the new 3DS XL has a 95 ppi. If true then that's just horrible. I suppose being an upgrade and not a brand new system they maybe can't change the resolution but hell.

Right or wrong, sites that drop review scores pretty much drop off my personal radar.

The irony here is that Gratch himself does not use numerical scoring in his own reviews.  Fortunately, the consistent standards he applies to every game make it fairly easy to determine what they would be.

"I put more than an hour into this game...."  =  7.0 on IGN

"I might give this another chance someday."  =  8.0 on IGN

"I'm not disappointed enough to stop playing yet."  =  9.0 on IGN

"I am playing Neir."  =  12.7 on IGN

The fact that the DSL was region free really makes me sad that the New 3DS is region locked. Now if you want if you want to play the Japanese version of Elite Beat Agents* you would have to buy a Japanese 3DS just to play it.
