This is out now on PC and PS4 (currently free for Feb with PS+).

What is it?  A sidescrolling action game set in a stylized Greek world in search of treasures to aid in your fight against the gods and the mythical creatures that inhabit it.  Combat is a more measured system with stamina concerns, different equipment types with their own attack styles.

I played up through the first area and opened up the main hub location then explored an area and took down a chimera and a bunch of satyrs.  So far, the combat is nice and rewarding and seeing your spear arc and kill a soldier over his shield is pretty slick.  Stealth is also pretty well balanced and you can easily take out an enemy if you get close or have the right arrows.  for whatever reason, some of the weapons are specced for backstab damage and do a ton more damage than regular weapons.

There is a crafting system and you can both buy items and the recipe to make them yourself.  I haven't tried this much but you can craft traps, Greek fire and healing.  Not sure what the unlocks yet but I am working towards a mythical bow.

So far, it looks pretty slick and has decent voice acting.

I am still waiting for a Tilt to tell me if Darkest Dungen is any good. Maybe that.

(Do Early Access games count as new releases?)
We should have a ruling on this.  Early access games are not created equal, so while this is pretty much finished (campaign does not have an end and there are more dungeons to be added in later), something like Space Engineers is constantly adding new features but does not have a concrete checklist.  Where should we track these when it varies wildly from one game to the next?  I'd add them as I think it is worth noting when games hit early access, but what is the best service to the forum?

A new month, a new release quietly announced with a PS+ post.  We also get the continuing adventures of an sea creature and seeing which character gets to die unexpectedly in GoT. A rather sparse list, but it does prove one thing.  The Vita is not dead, it just lives on Japanese imports and indie games.

PS4
Game of Thrones Episode Two: The Lost Lords
Motorcycle Club

XB1
Game of Thrones Episode Two: The Lost Lords

PS3
Game of Thrones Episode Two: The Lost Lords
SpongeBob HeroPants

360
Game of Thrones Episode Two: The Lost Lords

3DS
SpongeBob HeroPants
Kami

Vita
Criminal Girls: Invite Only
Kick and Fennick

PC
Game of Thrones Episode Two: The Lost Lords
Apotheon

I am expecting a majority of answers of ''Apotheon via PS+'' and "I've got the season pass for GoT, so I've already 'bought' episode 2"

Finally a great superbowl.  Gonna be fun tomorrow
Dude, that was an great game.  Brady deserves the win after his 4th quarter performance.  He ran up the field with 14 unanswered points, and were it not for the luckiest catch of Jermaine Kearse's life, we wouldn't have been in the red zone in the first place.

At the end, Butler made the catch of his career to overshadow Kearse's.  That guy has to be riding on such a huge buzz right about now.

Bring on the '15 season.  Go Hawks!

I do love this one though

And gods, WTF Nationwide?  Way to drop a buzz kill right in the middle of the game.

Best commercial is the Liam Neeson one though.  The Esurance one was pretty good and the Brady Bunch was good too.

We had them dead to rights in that last play and handed them the ball.  Why they chose a sorry pass up the middle instead of giving it to the guy who's known to run over other players, on the one-fucking-yard-line.   I cannot understand how they made such a stupid move.   Just stupid.

Also, the harder zombies are attracted by loud noise.
Yes, and while they are seemingly more vulnerable to head shots, they also dodge like a ninja and jump up on all surfaces.

I progressed further along and went through the first night escape mission.  That was an incredibly tense and unsettling experience.  I was cut down before I made it to the first safehouse.  I made it past the 2nd closest safehouse on my 2nd attempt but botched a landing and ended up in a 1 on 1 fight against a viral.

My 3rd attempt was staying the hell away from them at all costs.  Now when mama Jade says it's time to go inside a safe house, I listen.

I'm about level 6 all around now.

This game is really good. 4 hours of my life just disappeared in a blink of an eye.
I spent about that much time with it as well.  If you played Dead Island and thought the second zone was tense, this is like that all the time.  Early on, you are especially vulnerable and need to rely on evasion instead of thinning the crowd.  You can do that later on once you get a supply of decent weapons and more importantly, repair items, but even then, taking on a crowd is still risky.  You will likely see more zombies show up due to the noise, and of course, you have the approaching nighttime to worry about.   Night time makes you an even more vulnerable and makes your best defense is stripped from you.  most parts of the city are pitch black, you have zombies you can't see and the specials come out and will ruin your night if they find you.

Yeah.  I've been watching a co-op twitch stream and it's set up more or less like the DI games once you join in, just better polished.  Looks fun as hell, although it does seem like FF is disabled or just not present, but you can revive them or wait or a respawn.  I haven't seen/read how they handle the quests, whether it's based on your game or some kind of combination.

as you are running around, you can set up quick challenges, like race to checkpoints, kill more zombies, and loot the most expensive item.

one thing that does seem lacking is that as you play a specific character, I think everyone has the same skill trees and appearance.

over all, it looks like a refined evolution of DI.

I'm looking forward to Dying Light, Batman, Uncharted 4, MGS Phantom Pain, The Division, No Man's Sky, and Homefront The Revolution

B List of likely but not sold yet games:

AC Victory (yeah, I know), FF XV, BF Hardline, Dead Island 2 (new dev), Just Cause 3 (waiting to see whether the micro transactions are implemented), Mad Max (delayed news makes me wary), Bloodborne, The Order

get eventually
Hotline Miami 2, Adrift, Hyper Light Drifter, Salt and Sanctuary

I may be adding another console's games to this list...

The biggest issue with the windows 8 store is that they abandoned the curated approach they started out with.  Granted, the cert process took longer but you weren't looking at a store that was filled every crap variant of app that make up both google and apple's stores just so you could claim "we have this many apps".

I keep getting locked up when I play.  I get like an hour and then the game just freezes.

I think it's time to rebuild the pc.

Could be a heat or memory problem. How much RAM do you have?
8gb.  It may be a driver issue as I updated since I played beta

I'm having similar problems (with more memory than you) and I think mine is a heat issue. Asteroid fields seem particularly deadly for my tower if I do extended visits.

Updating drivers is a good idea though. If you're on nVidia, there was a driver release specifically naming Elite in its patch notes.
I played quite a bit in beta without a crash.  I'm not sure specifically which driver version I was using, but it was 12.xxx.  I updated to latest 14 version.  I'll check at home later.

Honestly I think I just need to clean and rebuilt the OS.  been having issues where stuff doesn't run unless I run it in Windows 7 Compat mode.  Steam was crashing if I didn't.  Elite doesn't crash for rocks or anything in particular.  it's happened during SC, once when I was surveying an unidentified signal and once just after docking.

Specs from memory:
AMD hex core.  5300
8gb Ram
AMD 8750 2gb card
I have my OS on SSD.  W7 64 bit

I'll check heat levels thank you for the link.
