I'm partial to "Grade A Mud Squirrel" which some dude on Survivor called another chick on the show this week.

That sounds like something that needs to be on Urban Dictionary.

Well...

Actually now that I think about it, he did call her a "dirt squirrel" and not a mud squirrell. Either way I think its freakin funny name.

Sabrina: "Dan where are you?"
Dan: "I'm in the bathroom, wrestling out a mud-squirrel"

Funniest thing I've read on the web today. icon_biggrin

thanks.  needed a laugh.
7202  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Best way to get a patent or make / sale a idea on: November 03, 2010, 02:15:15 PM
That's right, you can patent all sorts of shit. Isn't that how several companies make their money?  By patenting general ideas and processes, then waiting for other companies to make stuff which they then try to claim infringes on said patents without ever making the item themselves?

I think of inventions off and on. I think i have 2 cool ones..and practical. though hard for me to creat a prototype so i haven't. but i now have a new idea in my head. It would be very easy to make seeing as it would just be a modification of something already out there. it's so simple i can't believe it has not been thought of or done. i guess I need to know that too, if someone has that patent. So where do i go for info? What is safe to use? I don't want to pitch my idea and have someone steal it.

If you can't make it, you can't patent it.

true.

can you tell me deehakk, if is it safe to use on childran?

i can haz you patebt Idea?  i maek it for yuo and promiz naot to stael it, raelly.
7205  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Force Unleashed II on: November 02, 2010, 06:29:56 AM
finished it last night and the last fight really lets you kick ass, and you don't even have to deal with any forced qte's until the very end.  pretty nice and while it felt more hectic, i think it's kind of a step back.  the strategy was to mash the X,Y,B buttons and hope to see some kick ass combo's.  it's only partially successful against most of the mobs as you tend to get interrupted by the force users.  they do throw a good mix of force users, saber fighters and an occasional squadron or two of stormtroopers to keep the fights going.  it never got old seeing an enemy lose limbs due to a particularly nasty cut but it would have been much better if it could happen before their magical HP bar hit zero.  once you get your base powers up it can really clear a room of troopers, especially lightning as it can hit multiple people at once and then move to the next group.

i wasn't overly impressed some of the level designs as they took way too long to meander around and that also hurts the scenic variety.  you basically see 3 major locations with a very short interlude in between.  if you every wanted to see kamino though, this is your chance.  the boss fights were pretty good and no annoying star destroyer sequence this time around.  there was a big moment which could have come out of a movie and looked freaking good to boot.  story is short and doesn't throw many curves this time around.  the first was much better in this regard and it means you don't get any new insights.  tbh, the story could have fit in a dlc for the first one if they cut the longer levels in half and cut scened the other stuff.  it never really felt like it's own game imho and i actually feel a bit of disappointment in their writing.  well, at least that's authentic Lucas for you.  they push you right into a sequel which we all know is dead now, and given this one's reception, doubtful for any dlc as well.  too bad.

over all, a decent game and good for fans of the first but i would recommend that one to newcomers for many reasons.  6.5-7.0
7206  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: new 360 dash preview program on: November 02, 2010, 04:23:09 AM
maybe in the next update they'll round everything out again.  it actually stalled the first time i tried to update.  i was nervous but it didn't give me any trouble after i restarted despite what the warning said.

not that impressed with the layout choices but it does seem faster.  no more lag when i go into the dash from in-game and check something out.

7209  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: The Walking Dead stroll onto AMC on: November 01, 2010, 08:19:30 PM
If it's only going to be 6 90 minute episodes, it will be a long time before the show catches up with the novels. By my estimate, the premiere covered about the first third of the first book. Not complaining btw. It means they will have lots of time to flesh out the story. I like the expanded sequences so far
7210  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: The Walking Dead stroll onto AMC on: November 01, 2010, 06:49:30 AM
That was really good and despite how it breaks from the book, it does it well and is pretty well written. The gore is right on target so my expectations for later episodes is good. I do expect some heavy censoring in some later episdes, but I would never fault them for that. The story is far more dark then than in the beginning.

small note that you can also get Sam & Max episdoe 203 for free and pre-order and get Back to the Future episode 1 free. don't try to add either of these in with the MtP + Poker Night at the same time as when i tried it, the discount didn't apply to the bundle when i got to the purchase screen.  best to have them separately.

enjoy.
7218  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Telltale "Meet the Players" sale - Ends Nov 1 on: October 30, 2010, 08:58:33 PM
a bit late posting this, but until Monday, you can get a pretty great deal on telltale.com.  found this on CAG yesterday.

Individual seasons of Sam & Max and SBCG4AP are $10.
The Sam & Max Complete Collection is $20
The "Meet the Players" Bundle (Sam & Max Complete and SBCG4AP) is $30

plus, pre-order Poker night at the Inventory and get 25% off anything regular price.  the kicker is you can get this plus the MtP bundle and get both cheaper than just the MtP bundle.  yeah discounts.

a great amount of gaming and much cheaper than the last steam sale iirc.

The DW series is like a bad horror series:  you know the formula is intact and somewhere along the way, a whole lot of people are gonna die.

I do think the battles need reworking though. I've fought in the yellow turban revolution so many times it feels like I was there.
7230  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Fable 3, now with impressions + the official GT Review! on: October 28, 2010, 02:20:18 PM
Ok, this arrived via rental last night and so far, I am pretty lukewarm about the interface and how you interact with people. You would think that the system would have been improved, not padded by unnecessary delays. Hit A to interact should have been a quick pull of one of the buttons and locked on to the targeted person like they had in fable 2.  Why drop the seamless aspect they had for a slow-ass sub menu. The graphics seemed so much crisper before and the character detail feels a bit dated.

I am nor very far in so it has time to grow on me, but I didn't feel drawn into the world the way I did with 2.

you're talking about hardcore mode, right?  I nuked that before I put the game on hiatus, I was getting bored with having to worry about food and water.
well, that's the biggest aspect of it of course, but I am also referring to the new stuff. Crafting and the survival skills, weapon mods, ammo types and reloading, and the multiple factions. It's that plus hardcore mode which raise NV to a level approaching Gothic in how immesive the world is. It's not all the way (nobody gets pissed if you wake them up in their house at 2am and threatens to attack you, and loading for caves/buildings takes you out of the game) but within the engine, the reality of the world has improved.

I am glad to hear it's done so well as that means we can expect some patches and dlc.
