Doh...don't say that! We all no where the 4th corner is and I just happen to live quite close to it.  paranoid Unless of course Mother Nature decides to go for the upper 4th corner like she did in 64.
uh, yeah.  i work in a 42 story office building in downtown seattle.  house is 30 miles south in the lowlands.  earthquakes and high water are two things i don't need in any quantity right now.

how is the GSB campaign so far?  The few reviews I read shied me off buying it, at least at full price.

i might also go after the next chapter in mp two worlds 2 to see what happens.

far enough into it to get to the hated quad vs two mech boss fights and haven't had much luck getting past it.  saw the red faction armageddon preview and booted up RFG to tide me over.  damn that game is a lot of fun.

didn't boot up two worlds at all.  finding it harder to motivate myself to go back knowing how f-ed up the mp players are with overpowered cheaters all around.  might hold off on the mp campaign and village mode if the urge arises to go back.

It just doesn't stop. I'm not trying to be funny, but it reminded me of a horrifying Karmari Damacy the way the water would keep taking away bigger and bigger things.

ask yourself, if someone had posted "9/11 Humor--WARNING--IF YOU ARE POLITICALLY CORRECT, DONT READ THE THREAD"  and the joke

what's the #1 film in NYC right now?

Falling Down

would you have laughed?  not only is it insensitive to make light of a massive tragedy, it's not even the least bit funny.  it's bad humor for 8 year olds.

now, if you wanted to ask the question, how did some people in Japan react to the quake?

I heard Hideo Kojima hid in a box.
The creator of Pokemon was hit by a massive shock and fainted.
Miyamoto was safe atop his mountain of money.

then you might have a thread here.

nevermind your attempt to play the "wounded party" angle by defending your avatar as some sort of family pride.  you have had several posts related to the quake that are designed to incite arguments so this whole thing is just reaction to your callous indifference.  accept that you came off as shallow and move on.  or move along.  your choice.

Quote from: Huw the Poo on March 11, 2011, 10:52:04 AM

This is bullshit.  Brad Wardell posted this in his blog:

Quote
New Sins of a Solar Empire customers can pre-order Rebellion for $39.95.  Existing registered Sins players can upgrade to Rebellion for $29.95.

To pre-order, just head to the Store:  http://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/store.aspx

So I go to the store and click upgrade.  Here I'm greeted with two options: Preorder Rebellion for $39.95 or preorder it and get Diplomacy for...$39.95.  So because I don't have Diplomacy I don't get the discount!  Ya know why I don't have Diplomacy?  Because I didn't want it!  And now I'm being penalised.  Saying "registered Sins players" get a discount is disingenuous; what he actually appears to mean is players who bought Sins and both micro-expansions.

Is Diplomacy required then?

Edit: OK, calmed down now!  If Diplomacy is required then I guess it's fine, although now I wish I'd bought it when it was on sale.  I still think Brad's post was disingenuous though.

yeah, that is a bit misleading.  saying "registered sins players" is not the same as saying it requires both expansions.  like you i also did not buy diplomacy as none of the mods i had required it and i didn't see the need.

still, for $40, i hope this is not just a fancy new set of ships and a few tweaked gameplay mechanics.  if that's all they offer, i can go and get a mod doing similar stuff for free.

Oh man, when Ebert won't even give you one star, it's time to bail.  I was going to see this because I came across what must have been the ONLY good review of the movie, but after reading Ebert's take, I think I'll wait for it on netflix.

Yeah, Ebert's usually pretty fair to these kinds of movies. He understands they aren't trying to be Citizen Kane and judges them accordingly.

someone has coded in a javascipt applet in chrome that turns any page into a katamari damacy style playground.  simply copy this and paste into any address bar and hit enter
Code:
javascript:var h='http://174.129.249.239/js/',i,n,ss=['http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js',h+'Renderables.js',h+'Game.js'];for(i=0;i<ss.length;i++){n=document.createElement("script");n.src=ss[i]+'?'+Date.now();document.head.appendChild(n);}

you can then start rolling.

Picked up the first during the recent sale they had and am enjoying it, with the exception of those damn kaiser tanks. They are overpowered and take a ton of damage.

One could only hope for a mix of actual 80's toys but I'll be happy if we get decent knockoffs instead. Star wars figures vs GI Joe would be fun. Toss in he-man for the melée units.

Tbh, I wish EA had done this with MoH as I never played much mp and I could have saved the code. Would have got more for it in resale value. As long as they don't make it a time limit, I would totally accept this kind purchase lockout for any mp game that forces the issue.  I will still prefer to have it all free but I doubt that will remain the status quo for much longer.

At five hours I am glad I am renting. I was really hoping for something with a little more substane than a cod clone, especially as the mp doesn't seem all that different from the masses of modern military shooters. Amazingly, I am more excited for socom 4 than homefront now and I would not have said that six months ago.  As said earlier, the potential this game had dwarfed its reality.
