first patch for TW2 is out on the main website:

    * fixed crash in singleplayer campaign during streaming of levels (CD icon) or during teleportation.
    * fixed one crash in multiplayer.
    * fixed quality of rendering ogg videos (when HD video option is off)
    * if game crashes while playing wmv videos then it is switched to ogg mode and next time ogg will be played.
    * fixed missing in shops magic cards: Air Life and Air Lightning.
    * fixed type of potion ingredients generated in village shops.
    * fixed endless invisibility spell error.
    * fixed wrong direction of camera in sniper mode in reversed vertical view.
    * fixed problem with changing bid by +/- keys in dice minigame on laptop keyboards.
    * fixed displaying wrong number of equipment parts in "destroy equipment" message box
    * added missing "Check for updates" option to settings.
    * some player reported long time of making savegames in full screen. It was possible caused by taking screen shot. Save screen shots can be turned off by console command: game.MakeSaveScreenShot 0 - it should be added to autosaveGame3.con file in Parameters subdirectory of save game.
    * one change was made which could fix problem with saving multiplayer characters / village. Now if sending data to server fails then game make two more attempts to send

reminds me of the early launch/patchwork done on TW1.  means the game should be pretty damn good when it hits the US.

it also sounds a little like it did in saboteur.  you destroyed the nazi's infrastructure while inspiring the common man to fight.  while i think homefront isn't going the whole sandbox approach (which would be awesome btw) the basic premise is great for setting up a game

Assuming we don't drop power like the other night and tank my ISP for a day and a half. Grrrr

I think I'm going to be in for the long haul tonight, too.  The fall softball season has ended and the winter one doesn't start up until late January, so all of a sudden my Friday nights have cleared up for a bit.

sorry i missed out on the fun.  let's just say my choice of lunch options went wrong.  I had a nice six pack all lined up too.  frown

i still mostly die more than not but i had a great moment the other night playing the team game.  we were the targets and i spotted the enemy on the roof and was notified that he had seen me.  i joined a group chatting and hit the disguise before he came over the ledge, completely oblivious and turning to look out the door.  i left the group and walked up to him and stunned him and was about to circle back the way he came when one of his buddies jumped from the ramparts and landed on my back.

i also got the achievement for losing two ore more pursuers by running past a gate and into a hay bail.  they didn't give me a chance to get out though and eventually found me hiding.  not sure it's a good thing that you get a "press X to assassinate" when you approach your target's hiding place though.  it's not like he could see me hiding.

Here's my guess: The studio was probably upset by how he mismanaged Venom and wanted him to use him again. Raimi said no. The studio said yes. The toxic buzz after Spiderman 3 meant that Raimi no longer had a whole ton of influence, and the studio figured that the Spiderman name is what people want.

It still angries up my blood, though. Cliff Robertson and Rosemary Harris were perfectly cast.

decent review so far, but i have far too much on my plate, even for a decent incredible machine style game.

sadly, it sounds like they wanted to have the the LBP quantity of items without giving you as much freedom to create interesting community challenges and managed to come up with a poor implementation of level sharing to boot.

and Move support (on the PS3, of course) is more tiring than useful.

now that kmart is doing these i just go there.  it's such a little known thing in my area i have no problem getting a copy.  hell, after the deals and credit i had going in, ACB was basically free.  $40 in game credit plus the $20 in game credit from purchase.

i really hope they can improve the engine enough to do away with the house/cave=load aspect of the game.  when i play the gothic types, it always drives home how much more immersive it is to just walk in to a house and not be faced with a loading screen, plus you can use them to escape from enemies the way you do in TES/FO games.

and yeah, the scaling in NV is definitely not present early on.  i wandered north of the graveyard and was promptly ganged up by a pack of big radscorpions.

Pete, we're about the same level--how do you have so many extra BLOPS Bucks to spend on decorations?  Between guns, attachments, perks and killstreaks I'm pretty much always zeroed out.

It's all part of his fabulousness.   Fabulous

I think he doesn't actually spend any money on guns, just decorations.

that would explain it.  bling out the decorations, keep the same gun.  "if it ain't pretty, it ain't worth killing with"

other than the claymore's, i haven't dropped big cash on a lot of attachments myself.  only grabbed two killstreaks and 3 perks so far and i plan to stick with them for a while.  i am pretty much saving up for the galil and the m60 and will go full all in when they unlock.  been sticking to the enfield pretty much for now and grabbing galil's when i see them.

No one has mentioned it yet but CT on the pc uses starforce as the drm. Not sure if they stripped that out on later retail releases, but it should have been stripped out the D/L versions. Starforce also hates 64 -bit os'es faik. Best to get it via download IMO.

It is the best in the series by a long shot, especially the stuff captured guards say under pressure.  I really should have bought the xbox 1 version of DA when I had the chance but the other version is worth playing if you can get past the early stuff. Conviction is fun, but it isn't in the same vein as the others and is basically a whole different game.

What were you running prior Caine?

up until i swapped out the optical cable to the blu-ray, i had it going to the yamaha 5.1 reciever and then to a pair of koss headphones, ur-20's.  they were pretty bland for range and worked better for non-gaming than they ever did for cod/halo, etc.  the x11's have a nice boost to bass and clear sound detail.

i ended up picking the pair after reading good things about it here and due to a $20 off deal when i got it along black ops.

That once again reminds me that I wish I had bought mine there last winter instead of best buy. I would have liked to get the slim at some point. You may have to re-sign with them if you want to get the swap. If that's all It took, it would be worth the cost.

The X11's are stereo, while the DSS turns them into 7.1 surround sound. I haven't tried the X11's by themselves to tell how drastic the difference is.

I'll post some impressions next week. I've been using the X11's for about a week now and I just ordered the DSS from amazon - should get it soon.

Going from the xbox base headset to surround sound speakers, difference was good but not mind blowing.

Going from surround sound speakers to the X11's, difference was HUGE. So much more detail in the headphones!

looks like I'll be ordering a set then. The difference I noticed last night was much better  than the old stereo set and that was just from the Blops trailer. It also seemed improved once I bypassed the reciever headset Jack and went with the audio output from the box. I'll have to test it to make sure but it seemed I could discern direction better that way. It was a little kludgy though and I often found myself focusing on a general direction rather than a specific point. The receiver is a 5.1 fwiw hooked up via the left/right jacks as I was getting much better sound from the blu-Ray player and as I had the old set, couldn't hear any improvement with the old phones. I'll have to set it back up and see.

I think the dss will be the best option in the end.

It's still bad but it has gotten a little better since Tuesday when we kept getting dropped from the party and were never able to get into a match together. It still managed to drop at least five times tonight.

Oddly enough, in game, there hasn't been a huge issue with lag.

Funny, I got the sentry gun kill knocked out tonight before the other requirements. Just happen to luck into a gun perched at a window. Just need to get a few more knife kills and I should be good.

I am still rusty as fuck but this has all the markings of a great game. Ironically, I just got offered a full time gig once my contract is up, so my game time drops to a few hours a night. At least the wife is understanding and I can game without getting the look.

max brooks explores the eating aspect in world war Z.  basically, it's a shred of humanity that remains and manifests as the upper functions of the zombie brain are destroyed, leaving the baser instincts.  attacking prey and "feeding" on their kills. he even goes to describe what happened to some zombies where it ate enough to push rotting meat through the gi tract and deposit it into their pants.
