You've graduated from hot dogs to bratwurst.  Johnsonville on the grill, get some hoagie rolls and some ketchup.  That's all you need.

What's this, a complete remastered HD version for next gen consoles?  Yup.

http://kotaku.com/looks-like-sleeping-dogs-is-coming-to-xbox-one-ps4-1616950253

Not sure why they would try to charge a full $60 for it when so much of the DLC was cosmetic or shortcuts though.

Out 10/14/14

129  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS3/360] Assassin's Creed: Rogue on: August 05, 2014, 04:23:10 PM
I think it will be more fully fleshed out than Liberation was though.  It's been suggested that this is the missing years for Haytham before AC3 starts up and deals with his rise through the Templar ranks.  I could see getting this after the new-game smell wears off of Unity, barring any bad reviews.
130  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [PS3/360] Assassin's Creed: Rogue on: August 05, 2014, 03:27:50 PM
This leaked out early before Gamescom.  Apparently last-gen only and starring a new character (possibly playing as a Templar) with a more AC4 Black Flag approach with the naval aspects.  The trailer up on Polygon mentions a pre-order bonus for a hunter pack and a siege mission.  It's only a cinematic trailer for now with a quick glimpse showing an arctic scene.

Out on 11/11/14 to compete with the next gen version.

Probably Sacred 3 for PC.
Have you looked into this?  It's not the same game that Sacred 1 and 2 were, more like a Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance

This week continues the long tradition of the summer lag.  Almost no games out, but let's see what we have any ways.  A Sony appearance of a PC indie hit, a new IP on Vita and some assorted others, including a not-quite-a-sequel that should be carefully considered beforehand.  Well, let's get to it.

Road Not Taken

PS3
Sacred 3
The Swapper
Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed
Ultra Street Fighter IV

Been playing Rainbow Moon on the Vita.  For some reason, I'm playing games on it that I always fade out with on the consoles.

I do want to restart up Space Engineers to see the new changes they've added.  I also have a few lingering game sessions with some PS4 games before I get too far away from them.

We have the science to build an Ebola vaccine. So why hasn't it happened?

Quote
The problem, instead, is the economics of drug development. Pharmaceutical companies have little incentive to pour research and development dollars into curing a disease that surfaces sporadically in low-income, African countries. They aren't likely to see a large pay-off at the end and could stand to lose money.
This is tough.  Do we somehow force these companies to make a product that will lose them money?  Ethically, short-term answer is yes, but what of the impacts beyond profit?

147  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PSN/XBLA]Sacred Citadel ..also Sacred 3 about to be announced? on: July 31, 2014, 03:04:10 PM
Looking further into what they changed, I am disappointed that this is what they came up with.  This is not Sacred and should not have been billed as a sequel in any form.

I'm not sure about the cross-buy status of these games, but this is what they posted.  Fez and Proteus are cross-buy when you buy it but Dragon's Crown isn't.

Dragon's Crown isn't cross buy, but a Sony rep confirmed that PS+ users will get both versions.
Nice.  I had read through the comments looking but didn't see that they had confirmed this.  I already have it on Vita, so hopefully it lets me download the PS3 version.
149  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: on: July 31, 2014, 12:38:05 PM
So the sequel to two of the longest action RPGs is reduced to 7.5 hours of content? Even if that is the main quest only, it's way too short.
150  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC, PS4, XB1]Homefront: Revolution on: July 30, 2014, 07:02:37 PM
well, this sucks for Crytek

http://kotaku.com/deep-silver-buys-homefront-1613349084

it apparently won't need a complete restart though:

Quote
Firstly, Crytek has been in extensive discussions with leading producer and distributor of digital entertainment products, Koch Media, regarding the acquisition of rights for the "Homefront" IP. On completion of the proposed acquisition, the Homefront team from Crytek's Nottingham studio would transfer their talents to Koch Media in compliance with English law and continue their hard work on upcoming shooter, "Homefront: The Revolution". Both parties hope to finalize and implement a deal soon.

also, Crytek Austin is gone except for engine support.

yeah, I've never understood the drive to buy a phone full price either unless you travel out of the country a lot.  Otherwise, you pay the same monthly rate I do as a subscriber but paid more for your phone.  I know it's due to the companies not wanting to cut profits though.

153  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [XB1] EA Access on: July 30, 2014, 04:28:54 PM
fwiw, Crysis 3 (an EA published game) is free next month on PS+.  Battlefield 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur were on it a year ago as well.

They aren't that common on PS+, but they have had them on (and still do).

Also, RR's smartass delivery perfectly fits Deadpool.  Not sure whom else would be a good fit for the character.

156  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Orbis. aka PlayStation 4? The rumors are put to rest. on: July 30, 2014, 03:29:37 PM
the story is a bit much, but once you get past that, you have an action rpg with leveling up characters, special powers and extra modes (time trials, arena combat, score modes) and you can skip the extra characters as long as you can keep the kids away from the display.
157  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Orbis. aka PlayStation 4? The rumors are put to rest. on: July 30, 2014, 03:14:57 PM
I get to throw in a lone vote for the Skylanders game.  It plays well with kids and as long as you can keep the 'collect-em-all' drive down, you get a lot of game out of the basic package.  There's also a higher difficulty which suits a more adult level of play.
