561  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Request for help of the hacker type kind. on: November 04, 2004, 04:42:47 AM
Zero,

They are using my email address as the reply to address.  The site address is in the email that they tried to send to dozens of people that bounced back to my email because it was in the reply to.
562  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Request for help of the hacker type kind. on: November 04, 2004, 12:36:14 AM
I have a email address that I use with my site bulletpig.com

For this email address ([email protected]) there is a spammer for discreetdelivery.net

I keep getting over a 100 returned emails daily of spam that has been sent out and this email address used as the reply to address.

If you go to the site I have tried emailing all contact emails (with a test account I setup) and they are returned right away.

The request for hacker is to find out if there is something I can do about this.  If not then can we track them down and report them?

568  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Advice on buying a used car? on: October 22, 2004, 02:08:34 AM
Everyone has their favorite cars etc.  I'm not wanting to start a war of words about what is better.  I will offer my opinion though.

I currently drive a 2003 Honda Civic.  I can't say enough about Honda's.  To me between them and Toyota's it doesn't get any better for not breaking down.

I have owned two Ford's in my life and both lasted.  One made it to around 125k miles then I sold it and the other crapped out at 149k miles.  The second endured 5 years of pizza delivery and held up great.

Now to my wifes cars.  She has owned two Dodge's.  The first was a Shadow.  Complete piece of shit and was constantly having to be worked on.  We then bought a 97 Intrepid because we liked the bigger car for the family.  This car was great until about 75k miles.  Right now it is at about 130k miles.  The car is a piece of shit.  I have to constantly have it in the shop and if I could afford another car payment it would have been gone a long time ago. I will never ever buy another Dodge car of any kind.

In the future I will also stay away from Chevy and Buick.  My dad swears by Buick but guess where his car is every other month.  It's in the shop.

Chevy I don't care for because of similar stories like our Dodge I have heard from friends.

Again this is all just my opinion but I don't ever see me buying anything but a Toyota or Honda for the rest of my life.

I have noticed this as well.  I have TimeWarner Cable and have the DVR box.  To fix the issue I just set the series to start 5 minutes early and go 5 minutes late.

With our DVR at least it can record two shows at once so it rarely ever screws up.  The only drawback to recording two at once is that you have to be watching one of the shows being recorded.

The good news is that in a few years, give or take I have a feeling that TV is in for a big change.

Based on how much my wife and I love the OnDemand channels that TimeWarner has, I really see TV moving to this direction.

HBO OnDemand is the best!  If I miss the show (Deadwood, Sopranos, etc.) They will have the latest show available starting the next day.  That way I don't even have to worry about DVRing the thing and can watch that show any time that I want.

God bless OnDemand and let the revolution begin!!!!

Man my wife and I have lived with a phone number that is one number off from a local mental hospital.  I can't tell you how many crazy calls we have received at all hours of the night.

They don't come in as much as they used to but we still get a few here and there.  9 times out of 10 the people were nice when told they had dialed the wrong number.  Then there is few that cuss you out etc.

We did have one message left from a guy that seemed in pretty bad shape and I felt bad enough to actually call the hospital and give them the information.

 Although the wife never let me do it nor would I have really but always wanted to put a message on for wacko's R US!

My name is Bulletpig and I like chick flicks.

It didn't help that I worked through high school at a theater.  Man I miss those days of getting to see the movies coming out on Friday two days early on Wednesday Night or Thursday Night to make sure we put them together right.

It was great to brag about it to everyone getting to see Batman and other huge movies first

ah the good ole days.

To be honest too I think I may even like this place better.

My wife said the same thing and I thought she was crazy.  Then when he was on the bed (flashback) I thought it looked like he was missing both legs.  I guess I was wrong about that but the wife was right.

The only gripe I and wife have with the show is that it seems like there are more commercials than normal.

Another couple of classics to add:

1.  The new target ad with the 80's hair band.  The lead singer tries to smash his guitar on stage and it bounces back and cracks him in skull.  Classic!

2.  The Leon commercials for Bud.  "Like I said, Leon can't do everything." Classic!

I am so sick to death of the political ads.  What is it 19 days to freedom?  I'm not trying to bend the political rule here at all but am just tired tired tired of hearing I am Joe Blow and I approve this message.

I would rather watch the Burgar King guy in bed (really creepy) one over and over instead of the vote for me or this guy/girl voted against this or that crap.

Does anyone know where I can download that Burger King commerical which features the guy in the old Burger King costume sitting next to the  a guy when he wakes up?
God that is one disturbing commercial.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw it, it looked like the Burger King had just back-doored some poor guy in his sleep and was now offering him breakfast.

Prolly didn't even have the g*********** courtesy to give him a reach around either.

ROTF!!!

That one scares the crap out me.  The Burgar King guy gives me the creeps.

Hey,

I see these DVD threads quite a bit.  From the looks of them it seems that there are quite a few people that collect DVD's galore.

Do you guys actually watch them more than once?  I don't mean this in a bad way but just noticed back when in the VHS world I had purchased several movies etc. but after watching once they quickly just became dust collectors.  Same thing for the 10 or 15 DVD's that I have purchased.

For some reason I just never get the urge to watch them.

If you guys do watch them that is cool I was just wondering if anyone else ran into the same thing?

Regards,
Pig

PS. Please don't take this as I am trying to bash anyone at all.  Everyone is into what they are into.  My wife thinks I am crazy because of all the PC games I have  smoke

590  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Anyone else having problems with Gone Gold? on: October 09, 2004, 04:44:17 AM
Holy crap!  It's great to see everyone.  Man, I posted a reply back on page one or two earlier today and now we just hit page 12!

I do have to say I will miss gone gold but it's really just been a shell of itself for seems like forever now.

I remember the first time I read about gonegold.com in PCGamer years ago when they were listing the release schedule.  The day I checked it out contained a classic Rich post about his life as a cop.  I was hooked.

I started on Roll Calls and then moved on to the forums.  I was in the early GG Madden League and I think that is where I first met Graham that is apart of Console Gold.  After Roll Call's came Bill and I loved his writing as well and still check his site daily.

I received countless help with weekly specials and hardware help.  Gonegold community turned me on to newegg.com!

If gonegold.com is done the best I can say is Cheers! and look forward to making this my new home.

Another refugee from Gone Gold here.  As slow as the site has been running the past week I was wondering this was going to happen.

I would like to throw in a vote as well to the good guys here at ConsoleGold to put up some PC fourm spots for us.

I do play PS2 but am a PC gamer at heart.  This site does seem great though and will start coming here for my gold fix.
