I think it was last week there was a banner that said you guys were working on a cookie issue.  Ever since then I can no longer stayed logged in to the site.

What I mean by this is I visit and login.  I check the option to keep me logged in.  When I come back later though I have to login again.

Was this causing a problem that you guys had to turn off?

I'm really excited for this game.  Can anyone tell though if the headset that comes with the pre-order is USB or that other thing that is like two connectors.

I got mine...it is the two connector variety, not USB.  It is a behind the back type like the Xbox communicator although the mic is a lot shorter.

Thanks for the information.  I will hold off on the pre-order then.  I guess I will be heading out to pick up a USB headset.  I have read that the PS2 headset is USB and will work with windows so I might pick that up.  Anyone else used the PS2 headset on a PC with success?

Also can't wait for the DEMO!

I have the finale on DVR and need to go back and look but wanted to offer up this question.

The white guy that Jin met in the bathroom at the airport and ended up was actually working for Jin's father-in-law.  I swear in the last scene while they were showing everyone take their seats on the plane that guy was also on the plane.  If this is true then I wonder if he like the chic from SWAT is going to show up next season and cause trouble for Jin.

I need to go back and look to make sure but when I saw him I told my wife "Hey thats the guy from the bathroom!".

Nobody else has said anything about it and just wanted to see if anyone else noticed.

492  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Your CG-Account BIrthday Personality Revealed on: May 27, 2005, 01:26:14 PM
Your Birthdate: May 16
Your birth on the 16th day of the month gives a sense of loneliness and generally the desire to work alone.
You are relatively inflexible, and insist on your being independent.
You need a good deal of time to rest and to meditate.

You are introspective and a little stubborn.
Because of this, it may not be easy for you to maintain permanent relationships, but you probably will as you are very much into home and family.
This birth day inclines to interests in the technical, the scientific, and to the religious or the unknown realm of spiritual explorations.

The date gives you a tendency to seek unusual approaches and makes your style seem a little different and unique to those around you.
Your intuition is aided by the day of your birth, but most of your actions are bedded in logic, responsibility, and the rational approach.
You may be emotional, but have a hard time expressing these emotions.
Because of this, there may be some difficulty in giving or receiving affection.

496  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Where did your online name come from? on: May 24, 2005, 02:02:39 PM
Bulletpig comes from my high school days of hair bands.  Some friends and I had front row seats to a concert and the BulletBoys were an opening act.  We didn't care for them before the show but after seeing them live they were cool as hell.

Anyway I saw them on MTV (when they were playing music still) and during that interview the bass player always referred to themselves as the Bulletpigs.  I thought that name was really cool and since I was one of the few people that actually liked that band my friends started calling me Bulletpig.  So when this Internet thing hit and I needed a name this just fit.

The great thing is that I have yet to have a problem obtaining the name during online games, forums, etc.  Hell I even named my side web design business Bulletpig Productions.

I also use Mad Hatter sometimes for things because that was name of our band in high school.  The problem with Mad hatter though is that it is much more commonly used.  I think there is even someone here that uses that name.

See, I have an issue with #1.  Unless you've personally (or as you say, have been on a team) that have made a direct impact like that, there's nothing to put.  I.E. if you were in customer service, and just a phone tech, there's not anything you can really put there.

Zarkon that is where you are completely wrong.  As a phone tech did you do anything to help improve customer service?  Improve the call tracking or procedures?  There are a million things that you glamor up.  It is not always about how much money you made the company.  Companies like to hear how you improved something or similar along those lines.

What I am saying is that you make sweeping the floors important if you word it right.  I'm not saying lying at all but be creative.

The best offer of advice I can give is to highlight problem-solving and communication.  These two things are critical to any job out there.

I signed up for the 14 day trial yesterday.  Checked it out and really didn't care for it much at all.  I decided to cancel this morning and went to help then customer support.  Filled out the cancellation request and it went through fine.

The thing that bothered me though is the text that said "Your account will be cancelled at the end of this billing cycle."

Does this mean they are going to charge my credit card the $10?  Or does it mean since I cancelled during my trial period that I won't get charged anything.  I didn't even use the service for 24 hours?

Just wondering if anyone can help.

There was a lighthouse keeper who had a cat that unknown to him had been dining on a population of Stephen's Island Wren birds.  The bird would faithfully bring him this same species of bird, but the guy didn't know he was looking at the last members of a species here on earth.  Too bad he didn't find out in time as that one cat single-handily drove the species to extinction (ironically the same year the species was discovered by science!).  The guy felt awful when he found out, but it was too late.  frown

If you have outdoor cats consider a break away collar for safety and get one with a bell on it to help protect the birds.  Our cat's lose their breakaway collars fairly frequently but at least they won't die a painful hanging death someday that can happen with poorly designed collars.
Oh come on.  A species died to another species through normal channels, not human aggression.

It's called natural selection.  Get over it.

Why is it natural selection when a cat is kept artificially alive on an island that a lighthouse is perched on?  And I never called it human aggression, let's not put words in my mouth please.

Secondly it was a human-caused extinction.

Third is this RP at CG?   Tongue

Seriously the feral cat populations and other abandoned pets cause havoc on native ecosystems, this is not contestable.  And imho to do nothing about it is unconscionable.

Human-caused extinction?  Last time I checked we are just a part of nature as everything else.  I don't really have an opinion on the shooting of cats but when people have the nerve to act like we are above or seperate from nature is just crazy.

Just something I heard the other night on the previews for upcoming lost shows.

SPOILER!!!!!!!!

When Boone is in the plane and calling for help on the radio he gets someone to answer.  During the show it was hard to hear what the person said to boone but on the preview it's clear as day.  Boone says we the surviors of flight 815.  The person responds "no we're the surviors of flight 815".  Strange.

Yea I have to agree with most here.  Your friend is really not so much at fault.  It's your sister-in-law that is really completely to blame.

The big question is do you tell your brother?  Guy code states that you keep your mouth shut to him but with it being blood it's a tough call.

If it were my sister-in-law I would tell the bitch off.  I would be done with her after that and then never speak to her worthless ass again.

Dealing with the friend is another issue.  Tough call and would have to be there to decide.

With that out of the way, that rear window sure looks tiny.

Yea US autoworkers really need help getting paid their overpriced salaries and pushing out inferior quality domestic cars.  There is a reason why Toyota and Honda etc are ranked at or near the top every year.  You really can't even blame the workers because Toyota and Honda have plants here now too.

Sorry couldn't resist.  I honestly am not trying to start anything.

514  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Is having more then one credit card a bad thing? on: March 16, 2005, 02:35:42 PM
I am by no means a expert.  My wife however does work in the credit industry and here is some useful information.

1.  Having 3 credit cards is not bad.  Actually a good thing.  Just not sure where the cutoff is for the number you have before it becomes bad.

2.  To really help your credit you should use them and then pay the balances off every month.  This shows activity and also shows you know how to handle your debt.  Just having the account is good but using it is better.  Example if you are planning on buying a DVD player use the credit card instead of cash and then pay the credit card off.

3.  MAKE sure your credit card balance does not exceed 50% of your credit limit for more than 30 days.  When a company pulls your credit and sees that you owe $900 and only have $1000 limit they consider that just as bad as being over 30 days late with payment.  Just found this out a few weeks ago.

Again I am no expert and in fact am struggling to get our debt paid off but if our current plan holds true we should be all set this time next year.

Not a bad one at all.  My wife and I though looked at this several times on the DVR and not sure what to think.

When Charlie and Hurley are digging and talking about Ethan, we swear you can see Ethan's hand move and also notice that he looks like he is breathing.

Not sure if it was just bad editing but with the twists these guys give us also not sure if it wasn't a hint.

I don't know what to think but I have a feeling that we haven't seen the last of Ethan.

I have played the demo a couple of times and not overly impressed.  It's the same feeling I have when I play SW Battlegrounds.

I think the biggest problem I have is that I played BF1942 for months if not more and loved it.  I really liked the fact that you could kill or be killed in a shot or two.

Shooting someone or something 40 times to make a kill just really gets on my nerves now.

The graphics are very nice though.

I still don't think I will be picking this one up though but that is what makes demo's great!
