I had the 4500 until it got fried by a lightning bolt.  I upgraded to the Netgear WNDR3700 after reading from so many sites that it was the one to beat.  So far, I've been extremely pleased.

I need to get a new router as my current router only support wireless G.  I have it down to either the one linked above (WNDR3700) or the netgear WNDR3400 http://www.amazon.com/Netgear-N600-Wireless-Router-WNDR3400/dp/B0041LYY6K/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1295012222&sr=1-1  The only difference I see is the wired connections on the WNDR3700 is gigabit.  Is it worth the extra $70.00 for the gigabit wired ports?

That's the latest model of that laptop, good choice. The prior models had some cooling issues but the latest models have fixed them.

Just be aware that the ASUS gaming laptops with the stealth style case are actually pretty big. The 15.6" screen laptop you chose there will be larger than many 17" laptops, so make sure you have a good bag that can hold it.

I recently got a Sager 8690, basically the direct competitor to the laptop you got. About the only difference is that it's slightly more expensive, but it has more options and ports.

Correct I believe the one with heat issue had an ATI card right??  I considered the 17" version which had 2 gb more memory and a larger hard drive but everything else was the same and it was $100 more.  Kind of glad now that I got the 15" version based on what you said about size.  Should have it in a few hours.

Well I ended up cancelling the Dell order and got this ASUS http://www.amazon.com/G53JW-XA1-Republic-Gamers-15-6-Inch-Exclusive/dp/B00486USL8/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1294710262&sr=8-14 instead as it has a much better video card and I wanted something that wouldn't become obsolete quickly since you can't upgrade a video card in a laptop.  If anyone want's pictures once I get it let me know.

I ended up getting the one with the 1080p display (1920x1080) for $900.15 should have it first of next week.  Now I'll have someting to play all those games I bought off of steam during the holidays! icon_lol

yep, there was a teleported in the temple.  IIRC, as your facing the corridor that you took to fight the dragon boss, it'll be the long corridor on your right.

I do see you said tower and not temple, perhaps you haven't found the temple yet.

How the hell do you beat this dragon boss, I currently stuck here?

I am in the market for a new gaming laptop and I am looking at the XPS 15's on Dell's outlet website and I can get the following for $806.65 (includes a 15% off coupon):

Intel Core i7-740QM Processor (6M cache, 1.73 GHz)
640 GB SATA II HD
6 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz (2 DIMMS)
8X DVD +/- RW Drive
Nvidia GeForce GT 435M 2GB
15.6" HD (720p) Display
9 Cell Battery
Windows 7 64 bit

It seems all of the outlet XPS 15's are 720p displays and not 1080p. This same system if purchased new is close to $1200. Is the increased resolution of 1080p (which I can get if purchased new) on a 15" display going to be noticable?? Is this a good price??  I would like to pull the trigger on this soon as the 15% off expires soon.

(edit) Well this morning they now have the 1080p displays.  I can get the above system except with a 1080p display, 8gb ram, and 500gb HD for $900.15.

I was in the same situation as you are about a month and half ago when the kinect released.  I ended up selling my 360 on ebay and got $175.00 for it, though my 360 had an hdmi out.  I then purchased the 250gb bundle with kinect.  I have not seen a 250gb 360 for sale anywhere only the 4gb version.  If you need this soon you would probably need to purchase the 4gb version for $199 and then buy the 250gb harddrive for I think $130.

You want The Dragon Knight Saga.  and yes, anything can go on sale during the daily sales.  I bought ME2 on Monday for 15 bucks, and today it's only 10.  luckily it was only a 5 buck drop, so I'm not annoyed, but another example is The Grue buying Railworks 2 for 20 bucks, only to have it drop to 6 a couple of days later.

waiting could hurt less in the long run (plus buckeye fans already got kicked around today with those suspensions).

You won't find a bigger Buckeye fan than me but they deserve to not play another game for what they sold, those items should have meant pride in owning but I guess not.  Anyways i guess I can wait to see what happens with the sales, how long is the 33% off going to last?

hmm,not even seen a nudge feature on the wolverine table, but still not explored that table properly yet

The nudge on every table is the left stick.  My problem is I'm never sure which way to nudge the table.  If the ball is going left and I want it to come back to the right do I nudge the table left or right?
57  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [XBLA]Pinball FX2 on: December 10, 2010, 01:29:56 PM
Having played all of these now for some time I would rank them from best to worse:

1.  Spiderman
2.  Blade
3.  Iron Man
4.  Wolverine

I have wolverine last because it seems way easy to drain the ball down either side gutter, you really have to concentrate on keeping the ball in the middle of table otherwise it's gone.  Has anyone noticed on iron man that there are no sound effects other than the music and the characters occassionally saying someting.  Question do you guys use the nudge feature alot?  I don't and maybe that is my problem on Wolverine constantly losing the ball.

My technique to combat right/left confusion is to hit both flippers in that instance.  I like the Wolverine table best.  Spiderman is a bit too over the top ramp-y to take the #1 spot.  It goes in #2.  Then Blade.   Iron Man is #4 for gameplay, though I really like how he suits up and and does battle.

The tables feel -very- different from the previously released stuff.

You can also flip the controller over

How much more does a plasma actually cost to run than an LCD? I think I'm about to get a 46" Samsung LCD for $800-900, but if I can get a 50" plasma with a nicer picture for the same price or less, I'm all for that unless it's going to wind up costing me more in electricity bills.

I personally wouldn't worry too much about that as I'd be surprised if it was more than $50-$75/year difference, that's just my opinion though smile  One thing to keep in mind though is if you plan on hanging your tv on the wall, is that a plasma probably weighs twice as much as the same size LCD.

One of my computers will not power on consistently.  It was working fine until I decided to take the 2nd hard drive out of it which is all I did and when I put the case back together iit wouldn't power on.  I can get it to power on if I take the motherboard battery out and put it back in and it works fine until i power it off and I then have to go thru the process of taking the battery out again.  Any ideas what's going on?

No licensed tables, but much better graphically, IMO.  Probably physics-wise, too.

Thanks for the reply I ended getting this with the 4 new tables pack, I like it alot compares very well to Williams.  Are the tables from the 1st Pinball FX that were upgraded for this worth it?  Also I see other tables listed for DLC (street fighters, etc...) are these old or new?

I work for my father-in law and one of my jobs is to be incharge of our small office network.  Basically everything is done thru shared folders (no server) and i am having problems with one computer on the network that holds our accounting software.  When trying to start the accounting software from my office computer it is extremely slow and this just started happening out of the blue.  If I go to the computer that has the accounting software it opens fine/fast, it's only when trying to access it from another computer.  I have very little network knowledge, I have changed cables, rebooted routers and computers to no avail.  What could possibly casue this to start happening all of a sudden??  When I say it is slow I use to be able to get into the accounting software in less than 5 seconds, now it takes up to 5 minutes.  Oh this is all being done on windows xp.  Thanks for any help  thumbsup

LOL  icon_lol  It's definately quiter and cooler than the 9800gt's were.  It pretty much has doubled my fps in starcraft 2, can run consistent 40-50 fps with everything on ultra/high @ 1920x1080!  I figured out my sound problem from my post above as I had plugged one of the audio cables in the wrong spot.  I was expecting this thing to be huge but it's really not much bigger than a 9800gt.  I'm very happy so far.  Oh also EVGA has software now that is similar to riva tuner, which I like alot (I like to be able to see my temps in the icon tray and right now the card is idling @34c where as the 9800gt's were around 50c at idle).  Let me know if anyone has anymore questions about the 460GTX and I will try and answer them.

In that price range, I think the Nvidia GTX 460 1GB is still the one to get.  I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

It will give you a huge boost in raw power.  Whether that is worth the cost to you depends on what games you play and at what resolution/settings, etc.

Well it's basically for Starcraft 2 and Civ 5 at the moment and I see it will cost around $240 on Newegg, do you think I will see a boost in those 2 games?  Also do I need to worry about power requirements for this card since I'm already running 2 9800gt's, as Newegg doesn't list the power requirement?
