I have MAG sitting unopened, how is it these days? Still a strong community and playerbase or have most people moved on?

Hey Gratch, saw your post about Draconian an Swallow the Sun, two of my favorite bands, and wanted to recommend Nox Aurea - Ascending in Triumph (if you haven't already heard them)

Picked this up at Best Buy today, so if you're looking for someone to shoot at in multi, or co-op some missions, maybe a bunch of us can get together soon.

Grats Booner, looks like an absolute blast. I haven't played on stage since '87 when I was in High School...good times.
9  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / iRacing anyone? on: May 20, 2009, 12:51:49 PM
After the announcement that NASCAR is partnering with iRacing, I've been interested in checking it out. They've got an offer running now, 25 bucks for 3 months. Anyone currently racing, or interested in giving it a look?
10  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: May 08, 2009, 11:40:45 PM
Definitely in, but I'll be away this weekend for work. I should be back Wednesday and I'll have Caldari Frigate at 5 soon after so I can start looking at some covert op stuff.
11  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: May 08, 2009, 08:34:58 PM
I've eased up a bit too...RL has been busy and I've also found myself getting back into flight and racing sims (bought an x52, and TrackIR is on the way). EVE's always been an ebb and flow kind of game where I'm either playing it every chance I get, or not touching it for a week (or weeks).

I'd love to get out there and mix it up a bit with some inexpensive ships. What's the best way to go about this without putting the corp in a precarious position?
15  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: April 27, 2009, 06:07:13 PM
Welcome gangeli, hope you're enjoying things so far. I try to play as much as I can (which seems kinda like casual), usually in-game a few nights a week around 10pm est (longer sessions on the weekends), so if you're on at that time, I'd be happy to help out in any way.

Character's name is Infra Red. See you out there!

What of this metal you speak of?

I should be on tonight getting my Caracal fitted...but having a little trouble finding level 2 mission agents. I have Social trained up to 2, are there other skills that I should try getting that will speed up the process of getting new agents? Connections maybe?
20  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [EVE] Trendy Squids - The New Direction on: April 10, 2009, 04:18:47 PM
Just got back into town this afternoon so I'm catching up on the forums. Whatever you guys decide to do with the direction of the corp is great by me, I completely trust our leaders...you've been making great decisions since the start, glad to be a part of it all.
21  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: April 02, 2009, 08:27:10 PM
Hey guys I've sent a buddy key to a friend that I work with, he's intertested in giving EVE a try. He'll stop by the Octopus Overlords channel when he's up and running and say hello.

I'm going away for a week, so I won't be in-game after this Friday night...now, to pick a long skill to train

Hey Qantaga, glad you got to try out EVE. No worries about subscribing, there will always be a place here for you if you ever decide to return. Over the past couple of years I've come to learn the phrase: "Never Uninstall EVE"

Any chance you're confusing Opeth with Otep?

Another Melodeth band, I'm surprised noone's mentioned Insomnium...love these guys

Under the Weeping World is an awesome album, saw them last year in NYC and they were great.

http://www.myspace.com/insomnium99 check out "Mortal Share"

A few of my favorites that haven't been mentioned:

Daylight Dies
Swallow the Sun
Draconian
Katatonia
Nevermore
Into Eternity

and my absolute favorite, Opeth

I'll be in-game late Saturday night (around 11p, New York time) when I get home from the Islander game. If there's anything I can do "post-op" to help out please let me know!
26  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: March 26, 2009, 01:34:43 PM
Is there a way to put isk directly into the Corp, or just send it to a senior member. I've been dropping loot and minerals into the hangar, but I've got a little cash to donate too.

Even though I've trained up Cruiser to 3 (or 3 I think) I wouldn't mind staying in a Destroyer, or even a Frigate, to keep costs low if/when I start losing them (in a blaze of glory, of course).

I'm still not able to really understand if I can use scanner probes to find lucrative mining belts...does such a thing exist? Am I not looking in the right place for info?
27  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: March 24, 2009, 06:03:44 PM
Well, I know nothing of how that stuff works in real life...my wife handles all the finances, I just kill the bugs and get stuff down from the high shelves...oh and occasionally cook with fire...let alone how it works in EVE.

Huw, I agree with what you're thinking and it's clear that it's in our best interest. I think it's great that everyone is able to contribute whatever/whenever they can, and we can all benefit from it.

If the shareholder structure can operate transparently and increase the profits of the corp as a whole, I'd say it's something to consider. But, an individual shouldn't feel like he is worth less if he is a more "casual player" than another.
28  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: March 24, 2009, 01:47:40 AM
I was gonna say "Poo's Number Two", but didn't Picard call Riker "number one" and he was...oh jeez geek alert...
29  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: March 23, 2009, 06:42:01 PM
Congrats Huw, you'll make an excellent CEO!

Now to pick your second in command...Poo's Number One, so to speak...

30  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [EVE] The Trendy Squid Trading Corporation - Mining op on: March 22, 2009, 06:54:55 PM
Due to the time zone difference I seem to just miss you guys, so I'm wondering how I can contribute to the effort when I get in? Train up to run a hauler and pick up cans, move stuff between stations? Or, is it possible to explore systems for undiscovered belts, and provide you with locations that you can hit later?
31  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: March 22, 2009, 06:40:19 PM
I'm not sure which of you guys are interested in taking on the role of corp CEO, but if we could have 2, I'd nominate Huw and Booner that way we've got 2 senior members covering a wide range of time zones.

I'd support anyone here at GT/OO that would like to take the role.

That Wormhole was pretty cool, but as Booner said we didn't stick around to see if those Sleepers were gonna put on a pot of coffee for us. That sentry gun took a big shot at Booner, and we turned tail and fled. I'm just starting to get the hang of scanner probes, but it's pretty cool and I'm looking forward to doing more with exploration.

What NASA isn't telling us is that, not only did the bat survive lift off, after exposure to cosmic radiation it's going to reenter the atmosphere as this:

35  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Eve Online - GT+OO Corporation (Naming?) on: March 20, 2009, 01:02:33 PM
Hey Eric, welcome to Eve.

Like Booner said, 25 jumps isn't too bad at all. Just set your destination, and in the upper left corner you'll see the next system to jump to...warp to the gate at 0 meters distance, then manually jump. It'll go pretty quickly, especially if there's a few of us on to chat with. We'll make your trip easier with all the witty banter smile

Feel free to ask any questions, or for any help at all.
36  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [EVE] Trendy Squids - state your production needs! on: March 18, 2009, 03:48:42 AM
I'll be needin' missiles and ammo too. What materials can we get for you?
37  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [EVE] Trendy Squid roles, what do YOU want? on: March 18, 2009, 03:46:29 AM
I dropped some minerals and refinables into the hangar at the Amygnon reprocessing facility, figured someone with the appropriate skills can put them to better use than I can.

Koz, we're in the same timezone, so it might work out that we can meet up and do some exploring...I don't know much about how though, yet

just saw this little post about scanning
http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=642
and now it's got me interested...pretty cool, now I want a Heron.
38  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [EVE] The Trendy Squid Trading Corporation - Mining op on: March 17, 2009, 06:36:04 PM
Hey guys thanks for taking the time to set this stuff up. I should be on tonight 9-10ish (Eastern time) ready to help out in any way. If there's already guys flying protection (rats in .6?), I'll do what I can to get myself able to mine or haul...I'll need to get some skills trained first I think.
39  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [EVE] Trendy Squid roles, what do YOU want? on: March 17, 2009, 11:12:47 AM
I certainly have no dillusions of grandeur, just want to help out in any way I can. I've been primarily focused on combat roles but would like to eventually start exploring other aspects as well. Glad to see everyone having a good time.

I think it's important that everyone always feel welcome, no matter how much time they put in or how much they're able to contribute.
