Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / How many copies has WoW sold so far?
|
on: December 13, 2004, 10:48:23 PM
|
They may not have produced enough copies to meet demand in the first run, I've heard in many areas there are no copies of the game to be had. I can attest to that. A friend and I went shopping Saturday to get it for a third friend. We had to hit three different stores before we found a copy (of which they had two). Some of the small stores in the area haven't gotten in any copies at all.

Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / SCSI hard drive?

You'll need a SCSI card to plug in to your motherboard. If you don't have a SCSI connection already, why did you spend so much cash for a SCSI drive? All the drives on my current system are SCSI, but my post-Xmas gift to myself (new comp) will go with SATA drives simply because the benefits just don't seem worth the price to me anymore.

34. February 25, 1970. That's 238 dog years and that's how old I feel in the morning after playing WoW too late the night before.

Growing up, my cousins lived on the other side of the Rose Parade route. Since I had to wait until the damn thing was over before I could go play with them I learned to hate parades at a very early age.

Been sleepwalking all day. After a huge argument with a friend last night I was so wound up that I couldn't fall asleep until about 45 minutes before the alarm clock went off. I've been stumbling around in a daze and occasionally will mumble "braaaaains".

In my book, she falls under the "cute" category, but not the "beautiful" one. I see cute girls all the time. Beautiful women are more rare and Kate just doesn't rate that (IMO).

You should be able to add an IF statement saying to only update a field if the "new" information is NOT null (i.e., it has new data). I haven't played with Access in a year or so but something to that effect should be possible.

I did a little photoshop...what do you think of it without that little back side window on it? Well, that's the part that makes me think 280-Z (well, I guess the whole back end). Hmmm....the front looks almost BMW-ish to me too. It's a strange combination. But in that color, I like it. From the side like that it really does look like a BMW, but the shots from the car show make it look more Mustang-ish. Although slapping a BMW symbol on the hood still wouldn't look too far out of place.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / How are the Far Cry mods?

I think it's the fact that the Source engine has a bigger name so it will be getting the majority of the next cool mods. Does the Crytek engine support multiplayer? I've only played the game a little on a friend's computer (mine won't do it justice) and I was very impressed by the atmosphere of the game and the visuals are just plain awesome. I'd love to have a multiplayer game on one of those islands.

wbs - I'm telling you. Awful! Where else could you see a person run away from 'cold' by giving it a head fake and taking a left while 'cold' went right?
VH couldn't possibly be worse than TDAT, but I'm almost giddy at the thought that it might be.
I think someone should start a thread about The Day After Tomorrow if there isn't already one out there.
It was THE WORST. I was listening to the radio for a long time this morning on the way into work (thanks rain!) and they were talking about the movie and they played clips of the dialog. It was so, so bad that now I must rent this!

I stopped playing CS right before they changed the weapon names, so they're new to me.
I'm delighted they fixed the "%n" problem. That made playing last night way more enjoyable than it was over the weekend. My next wishes are for a server browser that ignores non-alphanumeric characters when sorting (ala All Seeing Eye) and a super-armored helmet so I can stop dying by headshot.
Has anybody gotten the "Friends" part of Steam working? I can add friends but they never show as being on-line, even though one of them is playing down the hall from me. I end up having to use ASE to find them.

I cant stand Carls Jr commercials due to all the smacking when they eat. Someone smacking does not make me hungry, it makes me want to puke. While I'm not that fond of most of their commercials they have made one of my favorites: Hot chick, mechanical bull, messy burger, "Slow Riiiiide"...

Ouch. I wonder when he will talk about this.
olaf He has Talking Points Memo Enough is enough
Hi, I'm Bill O'Reilly... thanks for watching us tonight... we are living in treacherous times. That's the subject of this evening's Talking Points Memo.
Just about every famous person I know has been threatened and worked over by somebody. Fame makes you a target... it is something that has to be taken seriously. As I've mentioned before, I have received many threats over the years... everything from death letters to some guy running around the country offering people $25 thousand to sign affidavits accusing me of whatever.
The lawyers here at Fox News have been great in dealing with these situations... although the stuff printed on websites remain almost impossible do deal with. But there comes a time when enough's enough.... and so this morning I had to file a lawsuit against some people who are demanding $60 million, or they will "punish me and Fox News."
$60 million.
In a case like this, you have to fight, even at some risk. These people trying to extort this money from us will lob all kinds of charges, knowing that some in the press who don't like me or Fox News will gleefully pick the stuff up. But in the end the justice system will take care of this situation... I have to believe that, because I am simply not going to allow these people to extort me, or anyone else.
Obviously, I can't get into specifics as the litigation is in motion, but I do respect my audience and feel you should know exactly what's going on. This is the single most evil thing I have ever experienced... and I've seen a lot. But these people picked the wrong guy. They can throw anything they want at me, I'll take it. And in the end... we'll see who's left standing. And that's the memo.
I believe him. Is requesting an out of court, out of the press settlement of (from what I've seen) a legitimate sexual harrassment claim extortion? While I find the amount absurd in the extreme, there are claims in her lawsuit that he he didn't refute. This definitely a "need more information" type of situation.

We didn't take our honeymoon right away since we were moving out of our place a week after we got married. We did spend a few days at a REALLY nice hotel in town and then later on in the year we went to Germany (and a few surrounding countries) for three weeks.

GB,
'Guilty Pleasures' by L.K. Hamilton is one of the Anita Blake novels, right? Has she given up on the idea of Blake being a worker with the undead and just writing goth porn now? I really liked the first several novels but they've become little more than a background to Anita getting her rocks off in different combinations of participants.
