I have the 4.1 version of these Klipsch speakers and I wouldn't trade them for anything.  The sound is clean and the bass range is from "pleasant" to "destroy your downstairs neighbor's sanity".  These speakers sound much bigger than their size.

I've been looking at some of the others for several months.   Didn't like any of them based mainly on engine power, fun to drive factors, and looks.
You mean the turbocharged MINI, the S, right? Because the base MINI has one of the weaker engines in its class.

I'm going for MPG here, not power and speed.

If I wanted power I'd be keeping my FJ.

And btw -- why in the hell am I having to debate this with some of you?   It gets so Fing tiring how some of you turn ANYTHING into an Fing debate.   God DAMNIT.  finger finger finger

I made it into 5 different E3 shows and have never had anything to do with the industry.  It was always friends, or friends of friends, that got me in.  They were a lot of fun to attend as a fan but I always wondered what the vendors got out of it since regular PR and marketing wouldn't have been nearly as expensive.

Good times.  I even got to meet the infamous LaPorte there. eek icon_biggrin
565  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Someone hijacked my WoW account...long on: May 25, 2008, 12:29:33 AM
My account was hacked last Friday and I got the same e-mail as Daehawk.  I hadn't logged in since January and stopped paying the fee since I had grown bored.  As soon as I got the e-mail I fired up The Armory to see if my characters were listed and sure enough my secondary toon was naked.  I couldn't log in to the Account Management screen so I did a "Lost my password" and that reset the password.  I reset the password there and reset my contact e-mail password in case that was what got hacked.

Bizarro things though:
  • They used somebody elses credit card info to reactivate the account (likely stolen)
  • They went through my secondary (60th lvl) toon and sold off everything and sent the gold wherever.  However, they merely sold off what was in my main toons bags (and his shoulder piece) AND LEFT THE GOLD! saywhat

He might have gotten scared off from a RL friend sending tells to him in game and hoped to log in later.  I fortunately got the password changed before he could carry on.  Completely odd that I should find my main without his shoulders and most of his bag items yet still have 1100g on him.

Blizzard resonded to my e-mail on Monday and looked into it.  I got all my stuff back on Tuesday plus the "free" month that hacker had paid for.

Just because you know what you are doing doesn't mean you will figure it out quickly.

I once installed a server in a totally empty room. After getting 2k3 loaded, I couldn't get the mouse to work. I tried uninstalling the drivers, rebooting, everything I could think of. My mad mouse-free skills were on full display.

After an hour, I figured out what was wrong.

Since the room was empty, I had been using the server's case as a surface for the mouse. It was slick enough the mouse wouldn't register.  retard Sunofva bitch!
Sometimes the simplest shit escapes me.  Similar story.  I have an older client that is decent with a computer.  He's retired and travels a lot so he wanted to get a laptop to track his investments while on the road.  We went to Circuit City and got him set up with a pretty nice system along with a USB mouse because he doesn't like using the touchpad.  He's all set and he leaves the following weekend.

He calls me the following Monday and says he can't get the mouse to work (early, after I had been out on a bender the night before since I had no clients scheduled for that day).  I know it worked because I used it while doing all the updates to his computer and moving all his shortcuts and files over.  We start going down the list: Is it plugged in? Yes.  Does the red light (the eye) turn on? Yes.  Does Windows say that a mouse has been connected and is ready to use? Tried a different USB port?  Does right-clicking bring up the desktop menu? All yes.  At this point I say that there is probably something wrong with the mouse and he'll just have to use the touchpad or see if he can find another one somewhere.  Nope, he says. "I can just keep using it on my pants."

Huh? "It works if I move it over my leg but not the table".  That got me thinking.  "What's the table made out of?"

"Clear glass".  Hand, meet face.  After a sheet of paper gets laid down along with a brief description of how "optical mice" work, he goes happily on his way and I get a new question to add to my phone tree. icon_lol

Spoiler for Hiden:
My problem with it was that in the previous movies he was digging up the past, items that have a long history.  Archeology has a flavor of mummy's curses, not alien overlords.  In this one he was digging up the future (so to speak) and it didn't really sit right with me.

Finally, is LA a good sports market?  Well, the football history isn't great, but no one complains about attendance to baseball and basketball games.  Like a lot of US cities, LA is a bandwagon town.  A winning or competitive NFL team would do just fine in LA.  If they suck, then they will struggle.  But that's true of a lot of NFL cities.

Football attendance is a hard one to judge.  It was just plain not safe for you to take your family to Raiders games.  Gangbangers of every stripe loved the Raiders colors, loved the bad boy mystique, and flocked to the games.  You get that many conflicting gang members into one stadium, fill them full of beer and there were large fights every weekend.  Ask Charger fan which visiting team they hate the most and I'll guarantee that the Raiders are the top of the list due to the large amount of LA-based Raider fans that come down for the games (and fights).  Few with the kind of cash it takes to buy season tickets are going to subject themselves to that.  I think a new team bringing a different kind of attitude will do great here.

On the other hand, if you believe the Chappaquiddick incident will cause me to chortle with delight over the sort of agonizing, protracted death Kennedy faces, you may be unfamiliar with my stance on basic humanity.

So who was making fun of his agonizing, protracted death?  While many have expressed no sympathy due to his past, and others like myself have made fun of the highly combustable meat sack he'll leave behind, I really don't see anyone making outright fun of the pain he and his family are going through right now.

Saw it with a buddy this afternoon and we were both pretty "meh" on it.  Like Kevin above, I was surprised at some of the CGI work by ILM.  I watched the first three movies this week and this movie just had a different feel to it.  Spielberg has evolved as a director and I don't think he was able to capture the same excellent pacing that the first three had.

There were quite a few parts that made me laugh, and it did manage to capture the Indy spirit pretty well, so I'll still give it a thumbs up, but not way up. thumbsup

Why would anyone ever want to move a team to LA? It is not a sports town, plain and simple.

Gellar proved how wrong you are on that point.  But here's another thing: no NFL team is going to come to LA until we build a new stadium.  The Colosseum facilities are ancient, with no high dollar luxury boxes that owners love and need.  The City has shot down any kind of funding proposal that does not involve renovations to that dinosaur, and renovations will just not cut it anymore.  I don't know about Goodell's attitude towards it, but Tagliabue was insistent that city funds of some kind be used to help pay for a new stadium, nixing any all-private funding of the thing. So we're stuck...

Depends on what he was doing with it.  If he had site set up with speculation about the game and any news on the subject then he may have been able to keep it.  If he was just squatting on the name hoping to make a buck from Blizzard then they could easily obtain it in court.

Reasons to watch CSI Miami:

1.  Boobage.

2.  Eye-candy visuals (the colors are particularly stunning in HD -- more than nearly any other show, it really shows off HD capability).

3.  Laughing at Horatio's intonation and lines.  My wife and I try to guess what is opening put-on-the-sunglasses-emo-move line will be.
Don't forget the now classic "side pose".  Horatio didn't do it early on, but now he never seems to actually have his shoulders squared to the person he's talking to.  It's always body facing one way, head vaguely aimed at whoever he's talking to.

CSI is a better technical show, but the cheese factor makes Miami a much more entertaining show for me to watch.

She's just a high school girl for crying out loud. Disagree with her all you want, but to be so disrespectful of a young woman like that... didn't your parents teach you to respect women?
Dumb = Knew the rules for attire and deliberately broke them, expecting to get away with it.
Bitch = When confronted with the fact of her dumbness and denied entrance, rather than walk away gracefully she threw a fit worthy enough for someone to have called the cops.
Slut = Not enough information, but Blackadar has been two for two so far so we may have to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. icon_lol
