I'll probably be picking this one up myself. Once I find my free time... I lost it somewhere.

Ahhh, Gabriel Knight. God, Sins of the Fathers is still one of the greatest games I've ever played... What an incredible game.

90  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / The Worst Game You've Played this Gen? on: September 27, 2005, 01:24:18 AM

92  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Office XP on: September 24, 2005, 03:12:51 AM
I need to buy Office 2003. I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not FrontPage comes bundled with it? I know it did at some point, but I don't seem to see it on any of the software out there. I'm just wondering if it is included but not listed, or will I need to track down a special package?
93  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / I want Dragon Quest VIII, and I want it now. on: September 21, 2005, 07:46:40 PM
Very cool. I'm not really hyped up about FFXII, but who knows after I play the demo  biggrin
94  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / I want Dragon Quest VIII, and I want it now. on: September 20, 2005, 12:14:01 AM
Game looks really great, I do really miss the hand-drawn animations from DQVII, though.

I'll also add that calling a game an RPG that has an occasional yes/no dialogue that doesnt matter at all seems like a stretch to me. As much of a stretch as calling Diablo an RPG. Stats and levels dont make a game an RPG. Anyway.

Heh, they've been calling such games RPGs since the NES. Every FF and DQ are this way. Thought we'd all be used to it by now slywink
95  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / God is found - and he plays Ikaruga on: September 09, 2005, 06:08:47 AM

Holy cow, that was.. inspiring. Blew my mind, that is for sure. Damn.
96  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Favorite Music on: September 09, 2005, 03:01:42 AM
Classical. More specifically Baroque. Bach comprises atleast 1/4 of my entire music collection. Love Scarlatti as well.  William Byrd is pretty cool too(Renaissance, not baroque.)  I also like some Grieg, Handel, Schubert, and Tchaikovsky. Mozart and Beethoven to a couple things I like, and so did Chopin(but generally not a big fan.)

Besides that I'm into the Oldies and a little bit of everything except Rap, Pop, R&B, Country and anything that has the seperatist air about it (i.e. Emo, ::gag:smile
97  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / I want Dragon Quest VIII, and I want it now. on: September 09, 2005, 02:51:52 AM
Need I say again just how much I want this game?

This much:

Sorry, that's worth 30 lashes with a red slime. We use the red slimes because they are tougher.

98  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Old Sierra Adventure Games on: September 06, 2005, 03:47:57 AM
Is that October 11 release date accurate? I'm so getting all of those.

Let me add yet another: "Where the hell is Quest for Glory?!"  I still haven't managed to beat #4 with the mage class (stupid glitch right at the end.)

Oh man, I can't wait.

BTW, Grim Fandango isn't a DOS game is it? I have it for windows and it works fine on XP.

102  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Ok, I was wrong. C++ is hard. on: August 27, 2005, 03:01:08 AM

I really love it. If Microsoft made an optimizing compiler for it, it would blow C++ out of the water. Note, however, that D is not slow even with the current tool chain.

104  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Ok, I was wrong. C++ is hard. on: August 24, 2005, 10:58:55 PM
C++ sucks. D is the future.

=) Seriously, though, C++ isn't that hard, it is just hideously designed. That said, D is easier, mostly because it is so clean; the comparison isn't even funny. I started porting everything to D the day I found out about it, my 2D Engine, my Compiler/VM, even my old utilities that worked perfectly. I did a clean sweep. Hopefully I'll never have to look back.

I really hope D starts to catch on everywhere, C/C++ need replacing.

I'm looking forward to starting a 3D engine in D, it'll be my first "D from the ground up" project, its a beautiful thing.

Anyone who has to study C++, do yourself a favor and atleast do a little D on the side =D

Carry on.

114  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Considering a DS. Any RPG's on the way? on: July 25, 2005, 08:22:36 PM
I don't really consider it an RPG either, but others here seemed to think so, and it really doesn't matter, does it?

I mean, I don't consider Xenosaga to be an RPG either slywink
115  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Considering a DS. Any RPG's on the way? on: July 25, 2005, 01:53:20 PM
Just to get them all in one place:

Mario & Luigi 2
Lunar: Dragon Song
Final Fantasy 3
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Secret of Mana (not much known yet)
Baten Kaitos DS
Xenosaga DS
Mistwalker SRPG (title not yet know)

And you can bet there'll be a new Fire Emblem as well

118  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Free iPod? on: July 23, 2005, 01:42:53 AM
I actually started that chain of events myself, but I never referred any friends. I thought about posting here to get help from the nice people, but I figured it'd probably just tick everyone off slywink It actually isn't that difficult to sign up and then cancel whatever you signed up for, took me about 15 minutes (over the course of a few days.)

My account is still up in the air too, LoL; I think I did the sign up over a year ago. (hint hint slywink) If only I had five friends... I'll have to try and get extended family to do it.
119  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Halo 3, What are you're expectations on: July 22, 2005, 03:04:10 AM
Halo 2 was a bad game. Halo 3 can rot in hell. Damn Bungie, damn them for robbing me of my $50 dollars. THe whole game from start to finish was BORING. Multi-player levels sucked, too. I should have just bought Halo 1 two more times.
