1801  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: GH2 songs on Marketplace on: April 12, 2007, 08:07:02 PM
I figured I'd buy one pack to get my thoughts on it.  I must say, the cover of Stellar was pretty bad, so I was annoyed I spent that much on a pack when my favorite song from it was done poorly. I assumed for their first downloadable content it would all be well done. For now I think I can get plenty of fun from the content in the game unless something really intriguing comes along.

Question (I just don't know).... have any useful treatments come about as a result of this?  It has been running on pcs for a few years now.

1804  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: A couple 360 games for trade on: March 25, 2007, 12:57:45 PM
Oh, sorry.

Xbox 360 - Tabble Tennis, Call of Duty 2, NBA 2k6, Madden 06.

Xbox (but compatabile with 360 - only thing I've played them on) - Fables, Jade Empire, WWE Raw 2.
1805  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: A couple 360 games for trade on: March 23, 2007, 10:12:55 PM
Could be interested in marvel alliance... don't have too much available though. Maybe Table Tennis, COD 2, Jade Empire, Fables, NBA2k6, Maddeon 06.
1806  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: FS: Sid Meier's Railroads! with Strat Guide, $15 shipped on: March 18, 2007, 12:44:41 AM
FYI, you can get more than that on ebay for it (at least I did when I sold it).
1807  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Worms out 3/7/07 on: March 11, 2007, 09:30:33 PM
I agree about the cpu in this version.  Older version had the weaker teams screw up more often. That said, the real point of this release is online play, not the single-player. Armageddeon and such had more single-player elements than this release.  My only big complaint though is the lack of scottish audio option. I always used scottish in worms 2 and armaggedon.
1808  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: rewards challenge question on: March 11, 2007, 01:55:54 PM
Well, at least they gave us Joust and Robotron free.  Not that exciting, but I'll take-um smile.
1809  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / rewards challenge question on: March 10, 2007, 05:26:05 PM
Question regarding the xbox 360 rewards challenge.... ok, I thought I had signed up previously (a week or two ago), and then I got about 1000 points... now it looks like I had to sign up again and I just did.  Am I just screwed in regards to those first 1000 points?

1811  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Enchanted Arms (360) for Trade on: February 14, 2007, 09:07:15 PM
Have Enchanted Arms... looking for the following 360 games.  I could also throw in Fables, Jade Empire, or WWE Raw 2 for Xbox or a few bucks.

Looking for:
Gears of War
WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007
College Hoops, or NCAA March Madness
Dead or Alive Extreme 2
Battle for Middle Earth 2
World Series of Poker

1813  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Sharp 20" lcd with ASTC tuner at office depot on: January 15, 2007, 06:13:12 PM
Nice mail-in rebate ($200) off their normal price of $550. That's $90 cheaper than newegg after shipping (even with tax).  I think the rebate might be on in-store purchases only, but I'm not sure. There aren't many small lcds with built in HD-tuners.  I have mine getting OTA HDTV right now (picked it up an hour ago). DVD looks good too.

Is everything for PC? (rather have BFME II for 360)
1816  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Small LCD TV question on: January 04, 2007, 10:05:52 PM
So I've been thinking about getting a small LCD tv for the bedroom sometime, and today I got a coupon (for February) from costco in the mail for a great price on one from Sharp. My question is whether these tvs pick up regular over the air signals fine or if you have to do anything to get those. I am not really planning on adding a cable box to the upstairs (although I will have a dvd player.

FYI, I think the one that will be on sale is this one, for $249 with coupon.

~ Tim

P.S.  Although I did just notice that this one is VGA and 4:3 if that's the right one so I might not get that one... but the question is valid either way.

Not playing until Christmas.  That's when my wife gets it as a present... and then I get to play it as well smile

I have MK3 now, so it should be up and running.  Personally I might be slightly annoyed, but I don't really care if a game isn't up for a day for some reason.  I'm still just glad I can download it.
1825  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: $60 Games Costing Sales? on: October 21, 2006, 10:24:35 PM
I have gotten a couple games at full-price on 360, but that is only if I REALLY want it or I get it as a gift (my relatives aren't very good about using the internet to find deals...)

That said, I would have bought twice as many games and not looked to trades/ebay as much if the starting price was $39.99 or $44.99 rather than $59.99. Same deal for PC games, I certainly never buy one for $49.99 and generally try to buy at $39.99 or less.

Cassidy was tough, but Jesper is my nemises.  I'm playing him in the second round of the first tournament in hard and am pissed off.  I've played four times now without winning, but on the second match I lost 11-9 in the third game.  I was screaming with every blown point towards the end... my wife had to come up from the basement to see if I was ok :-p.
1834  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Table Tennis Impressions on: May 29, 2006, 10:21:03 PM
I've worked my way through medium, but I need a break before trying the hard tournament again... definitely having fun with it, but I'm worried how hard it might be to unlock the rest of the characters and arenas.  I need to find a good list of what you need to do.

1838  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / looking for new computer, suggestions welcome on: February 14, 2006, 12:40:21 AM
yeah, I used gotapex to get a couple hundred off.  if I didn't get the discout I doubt I would have used Dell.  The bad reviews were at reselleratings (or whatever it is called).  Some people had no problems, others had a lot.  Dell had some bad reviews but it was mostly just because people needed tech support (not actual problems in shipping, etc). In any case I'll keep an eye on Cyberpower for next time (when I need a cpu instead of my wife), but this time I thought I'd stick with the Dell.

For my last computer I got a Talon line from Falcon-NW before they switched to customizable Talons... then the cost increased by a lot for them.
1839  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / looking for new computer, suggestions welcome on: February 11, 2006, 09:56:14 PM
Well, after spending a few hours playing around on different sites I bit the bullet and bought a Dell.  I figure I shouldn't need that much tech support anyways. Not great, but cheaper in any case.

Bought Dell dimension E310
XP Media center 2005 edition
Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 640 w/HT Technology (3.2GHz,800FSB)
1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 400MHz -2DIMMs
160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Dual Drives: 16x DVD-ROM Drive + 48x CD-RW Drive
17 inch Ultrasharp™ 1707FP Digital Flat Panel
plus office basic, wireless adaptor, keyboard, mouse, etc
1 year warranty
15 months of Mcafee everything

Minuses - no real graphics card yet (will probably buy one soon from newegg)
Integreated sound, but the Audigy one, so at least it is serviceable

With tax/shipping it was about $1100

EDIT - Ok, turns out I was dumb, that model isn't really expandable, so I bumped it up to a XPS 400 and added the graphics card, sound card, etc plus it is dual core.

Arg, something decent from ABS still comes out fairly expensive.  Can get just what I want from Cyberpower, but all of the bad user reviews online scare me...
