1722  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: I need an RPG on: June 13, 2008, 08:53:59 PM
Bill Harris has a nice blog posting about a graphical mod for Planescape Torment that upgrades it to 1600x1200, supposed to be nice. So could try that oldie but goodie.
1723  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: HD-DVD sale at inetvideo on: June 08, 2008, 02:49:45 PM
It worked for me when it was over $50... but yeah, I definitely wouldn't buy there without that savings. How did you pay? I used paypal.
1724  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: How does one make female friends? on: June 08, 2008, 02:50:09 AM
I hear ya Kyosho. I've always been the same way. Over time I've had a few female friends that were great for opening up to and right now I don't have any around like that (outside of my wife of course).
1725  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / HD-DVD sale at inetvideo on: June 07, 2008, 10:51:26 PM
Great sale going on at inetvideo.com. Just picket up a bunch of movies at an average of $7 per.
1726  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Cue the Synthesizers, Axel Foley is Back. on: May 30, 2008, 02:49:11 AM
Hey, I loved BHC... I'll totally see another.
1727  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Stargate Worlds on: May 28, 2008, 11:21:16 PM
I love Stargate, but I'm not sure I see how it would translate to a whole MMORPG...
1728  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Glad I didn't buy AoC on: May 28, 2008, 11:19:14 PM
Looking forward to war. I've pre-ordered, so I guess I'll get in the wider beta since I my application hasn't been picked up for the closed one. As to someone not being impressed a year ago.... that's why the game was still in development Tongue
1729  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: 3 Doors Down album $0.99 on: May 21, 2008, 08:59:47 PM

1731  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Best dungeon(s) in a PC game on: May 20, 2008, 02:31:10 AM
Stonekeep was pretty fun, though I found it hard. Definitely better than all the reviews made it seem, but also not really a classic. Not sure how it would age...
1732  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Just bought a Wii and on: May 16, 2008, 09:00:04 PM
Is it just me, or is the Wii no longer cheap after you buy all that?
1733  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Banjo Kazooie 3 shots, Viva Pinata 2 coming on: May 14, 2008, 12:59:58 AM
Viva Pinata 2 will be a day one purchase for sure
1734  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: A Dance With Dragons (G. R. R. Martin reminder) on: May 12, 2008, 02:06:53 AM
Don't know if anyone else has read it, but FYI perhaps my favorite series that's still ongoing (one book left I think) is the Saga of the Seven Suns series by Kevin J. Anderson.
1735  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Stimulus Rebates! on: May 12, 2008, 02:03:10 AM
We're looking at moving to a bigger place this summer, so I guess it's going into the fund for that. Or for some new furniture or a new tv to help fill up that future new place. So I'm helping the housing market and buying stuff (and becoming poorer).

1738  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Looking for - 1 month free trial for Netflix on: April 30, 2008, 11:11:58 PM
I've had no problems with netflix. I still consistently send something out on monday and get the next one back wednesday.
1739  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Official GTA4 impressions thread on: April 30, 2008, 03:21:41 AM
I'm through Vlad at this point and having a good time, with no freeze-ups. That said, I haven't been convinced that this adds that much to what Mafia and GTA3 had in games. Better graphics, some extra reactions/interaction from random people for atmosphere, but missions, driving, etc don't seem revolutionary.

My one real complaint is that if you have a game saved, then do a mission, or in my case quit during a mission, it removes your mission status from the saved game so you have to redo some stuff, even if you load the old saved game. Annoyed me enough to have me stop for the night.
1740  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: George Bush on Deal or No Deal? Ratings drop 27% on: April 29, 2008, 03:25:55 AM
Bones came back last week too (with house re-run). So lots of shows on monday again.
1741  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: Tax Relief/Rebates start rolling in next week for direct deposit folks! on: April 29, 2008, 03:24:35 AM

1742  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Do you get pissed off sometimes when gaming? on: April 29, 2008, 02:46:49 AM
I'm one of the frustrated, but rarely pissed players. I certainly don't throw anything breakable... maybe slap the couch or throw a pillow. And that is not from people (MP), but from poor game designs that make me replay something too much. E.g. a couple of the off the wall jumps in Tomb Raider Anniversary took forever to get to work right. People quitting in halo 3 does get on my nerves though...
1743  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: pc/xbox game and dvd sale on: April 27, 2008, 03:50:47 PM
bump to add a couple items, reduce a couple prices, and to note that I'm willing to sell a bunch together for a discount too.

1745  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wii Fit - I am so weak on: April 26, 2008, 09:17:41 PM
I'm sure it'll be fun to a degree... but it's yet another mini-game game for the wii. Those are like live arcade games to me... I can enjoy them, but they often get old fast.

1747  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Sega Superstars Tennis - $20 at Gamestop/EB on: April 26, 2008, 06:25:06 PM
Cool, thanks, I just picked it up. Not that I have huge expectations, but for $20 there's limited downside since I can always resell.
1748  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [Halo 3] Anyone still interested in a coop campaign? on: April 20, 2008, 02:40:39 PM

1749  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: New Mortal Kombat game coming on: April 20, 2008, 01:49:36 PM
I'm keeping an open mind... but not going to purchase before a few reviews are out. And supposedly it will be Teen rated, but pushed as far as it can go. So probably not severe fatalities, but some level of blood/violence.
1750  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: 360 games/dvds FS updated - Mass Effect on: April 20, 2008, 01:39:56 PM

1751  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Xbox live update? on: April 19, 2008, 07:42:12 PM
I think it was general maintenance stuff, including some improvements for hd-dvd player. Nothing big.
1752  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Majesty 2 announced on: April 18, 2008, 11:18:18 PM
Wow, that took a while... did enjoy the first. Never understood why they didn't make a sequel, as it didn't seem like it would be that tough to do.

1755  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: New Pinball FX table coming to XBLA=Greatest Ever on: April 09, 2008, 08:33:43 PM
Do you need to have the original game 800 pt game to play or can you just buy this table?
1756  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Fallout 3, or why you are going to no life thanks to Kathode. on: March 25, 2008, 02:26:12 AM
Well, some of that could be variations of story like how fallout 1 and 2 worked... where you have 10 different subplots that can have different endings. I seriously doubt they have 200 REAL endings.
1757  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Lost Odyssey - new trailer and impressions on: February 24, 2008, 02:46:22 PM
Mike, as for is that all gameplay is.. no. At times there will be minimal control between cutscenes, at other times it is more traditional RPG making your way through caverns, dungeon, etc.
1758  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Lost Odyssey - new trailer and impressions on: February 24, 2008, 02:44:29 PM
Yes, the most frustrating part of the game is that there are parts where it goes like 2 hours between save points. Doesn't bother me most of the time (as they give you a save point right before any boss or place you would really die), but it can suck a few times.

Yes, you get new weapons and items throughout the game. For the most part they are just more powerful versions of what you have, but accessories will continue to give you new skills and rings will become better as well.

And the pipots are pretty meaningless, but at certain markers for seeds (# you've provided throughout the game) you get items in return. And you can trade a few lesser items (e.g. healing medicine) for better versions.
1759  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Lost Odyssey - new trailer and impressions on: February 22, 2008, 10:34:28 PM

1760  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Magic The Gathering coming to XBLA on: February 19, 2008, 04:26:46 AM
Wow, I stopped playing that so long ago... if it was done right I could be convinced to give it a go, but depends how it is implemented.
