1561  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [WAR] GT Wanderers, please post your in-game names on: September 25, 2008, 03:48:29 AM
Tredfim - Engineer

I joined the forum and such a while back. In the game, do I just type /who wanderers and ask to join or what else do I have to do?
1562  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: The Wanderers & Warhammer Online on: September 24, 2008, 09:16:04 PM
OK, ready to go. Questions...

1) Can we still join the guild on Ostermark? If so, are there classes that are really needed (e.g. I was thinking Engineer for order)

2) Same question for Chaos (and what servers is the guild on)?
1563  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: September 15, 2008, 02:30:42 AM
Where did you get 30k from? I know that is a lot below vgchartz's estimate.
1564  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: September 14, 2008, 03:06:53 AM
Anyone done with this? I'm at the point everyone is talking about the final battle tomorrow. Is that the end? Wondering if I can wait to look for more side quests or if I should do them now.

*** Update *** You can definitely go do the side quests at that point.
1565  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise on: September 13, 2008, 08:02:37 PM
If you have too many types of pinatas, sell some off. It's the best way to raise money anyways.
1566  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: Friday Freebie - NHL 08 (X360) on: September 13, 2008, 01:06:25 PM
You got a backup PM
1567  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise on: September 12, 2008, 08:43:17 PM
Don't need to have played the first game, although it would certainly help you hit the ground running. Gameplay is almost identical outside of a few minor additions and edits. Even some of the animations and such are the same.
1568  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: September 12, 2008, 03:49:48 AM
I'm now about 2/3 of the way done (I think) and still enjoying it. Grab it if you have any interest.
1569  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: September 08, 2008, 09:32:50 PM
Nope, but  I haven't really looked. The world map works on once you have been to a place and I generally didn't have too much trouble finding the locations. Only once or twice where it was a bit too ambiguous for me.
1570  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: September 06, 2008, 03:36:39 PM
Arg, finally hit another boss posing difficulties, at the end of the 2/3 mark. I wouldn't mind, but there is a really long discussion beforehand that you can't skip through very fast.
1571  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise on: September 06, 2008, 04:13:22 AM
Mine arrived today, but I'm in the middle of Tales of Vesperia... what to do...
1572  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (9/1) on: September 01, 2008, 03:51:49 PM
Viva Pinata 2 is pre-ordered smile.
1573  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: $12 for Stranglehold for 360 unopened on: September 01, 2008, 12:56:42 PM
Taken smile. Not sure I have time for it now, but at the price I don't need to worry too much..
1574  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: August 31, 2008, 04:44:49 AM
Well, after I leveled up a bit it wasn't too bad. Personally I found Azure Wold Strike too slow (since he can interrupt it part way through). Things are moving swiftly/smoothly once again smile.
1575  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: $12 for Stranglehold for 360 unopened on: August 31, 2008, 12:54:11 AM
If that fell through let me know.
1576  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: August 31, 2008, 12:05:04 AM
I'm level 17 and failing :-p. I feel like I should be able to do it now as I figure out a pattern but then it falls apart, but it hasn't happened yet. And btw, wow, you must be doing a lot of random battles to be low 20s already.
1577  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: August 30, 2008, 11:51:55 PM
FYI. The wolf boss in the hills is kicking my ass...
1578  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Tales of Vesperia announced on: August 30, 2008, 03:25:25 AM
Only about 2 1/2 hours in, but I'm having fun. Perhaps not original, but still a good way to spend the long weekend. Definitely a good procrastinator vs homework for grad school...
1579  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Went ahead and bought the new cpu! on: August 28, 2008, 08:52:47 PM
Not really at this point. Dual might still be faster in many cases for games due to higher clock. But for longevity purposes I figure this hedges my bets. Plus it's not really much more expensive.
1580  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Warhammer: Best fleshed out class, worst fleshed out class? on: August 26, 2008, 08:50:13 PM
I would note I was having great fun as an engineer during the preview weekend...
1581  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Went ahead and bought the new cpu! on: August 24, 2008, 07:44:31 PM
Hehe, true, didn't think about that smile. But I've been good about selling old stuff on ebay or trading here, and I've been xbox 360 focused the past year and a half, so I should be good for now.
1582  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Warhammer Online headed to Open Beta on 9/7 on: August 24, 2008, 07:33:55 PM
Not really sure Arkon... just says order recieved at this point (I don't think it'll let me know til tomorrow probably).
1583  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Warhammer Online headed to Open Beta on 9/7 on: August 24, 2008, 04:35:08 PM
Ah, I've given in and ordered a new computer as well, can't wait. And given the terribleness of my current computer in running this during the preview weekend it will be none too soon.
1584  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Thougts on cyberpower mid-level gaming models? (quick thoughts appreciated) on: August 24, 2008, 02:35:51 PM
Thanks for the comment. I decided to go ahead and order one. Thankfully my wife had seen me trying to play the Warhammer Online beta and took pity on me... I ended up bumping up the CPU and video card memory since I'd rather not have to deal with upgrading for a long while. Of course now I'm not getting anything for B-day or Christmas... but I'll have a nice cpu to play with so what more will I need?

I can't resist a good Tomb Raider game. Day one purchase for me.
1586  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Went ahead and bought the new cpu! on: August 24, 2008, 02:54:53 AM
Looking at the mid-level intel gaming pcs from cyberpower. Hoping to possibly put in an order tomorrow, so any quick thoughts are appreciated.

http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/

Looking at the 9800 GT model... any problems you see? Do I have to do anything special with the watercooling (never dealt with it before)... thoughts on that vs a good/silent regular fan?

Also, NVIDIA vs ATI... vista vs XP. Leaning Vista home premium and stick with the NVIDIA 9800 GT 512 mb it has by default.

And any need to extra fans or case upgrades?

Sorry, been a while since I bought one...

1587  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Warhammer Online headed to Open Beta on 9/7 on: August 23, 2008, 07:46:20 PM
Question... do characters survive after beta or should I just play a bunch of variety so I know what I want to play when it starts for real?
1588  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Warhammer Online headed to Open Beta on 9/7 on: August 23, 2008, 01:11:47 PM
Ok, it was just the drivers. Now it runs (though not very well). My wife was unimpressed though, so I might be able to talk her into a new computer! Hehe, that would work out nicely. Having fun with it, but as I said... it doesn't run particularly well and I think it set graphics to their worst.
1589  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Warhammer Online headed to Open Beta on 9/7 on: August 23, 2008, 03:32:05 AM
Ok, trying to play for first time, getting an error "Failed to create render device - application will now terminate". Any idea what drivers etc are required? Mine haven't been updated in a while probably, but I don't recall any similar issues... Can my system even work?

I also have an older system that is obviously not ideal (though I could re-download to my wife's which is a bit newer).

Any impressions?
1591  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Forgotten Realms recommendations? on: August 19, 2008, 11:08:21 PM
I haven't read them in a long time, but I liked the Shannara books and Raymond Feist's Krondor books. On the darker side is Robin Hobbs' Assaisin series.
1592  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (8/18) on: August 19, 2008, 08:03:48 PM
Too Human reviews are all over the map. Really wide array of reviews.
1593  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Too Human demo coming next week on: August 19, 2008, 07:43:59 PM
Wow, I haven't seen a game get so widespread an array of reviews in a while. The reviews are all over the map on this one.
1594  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: EBGames.com can suck it... on: August 11, 2008, 03:39:55 AM
Ok, I figured out how to find the code on amazon... now it is listed in my "promotional codes and associations" section. Should anything else happen? Or can I not get in until a later date?
1595  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Banjo Kazooie and Viva Pinata 2 preorders for $37 @ NewEgg on: August 10, 2008, 05:37:04 PM
Yeah, if they end up at $40 they might be figuring that since it is the casual market they might be able to make more overall by having a lower price. But there's still inconsistency between the online sites that makes it hard to tell what is happening with the pricing.
1596  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Banjo Kazooie and Viva Pinata 2 preorders for $37 @ NewEgg on: August 10, 2008, 01:55:38 PM
It's looking like $40 could be the MSRP on Banjo, though it's hard to tell. I see Viva listed for $40 at one or two and $60 at other places. In any case, you still can't be hurt by the newegg prices.
1597  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Banjo Kazooie and Viva Pinata 2 preorders for $37 @ NewEgg on: August 09, 2008, 11:04:17 PM
Awesome, thanks! I just pre-ordered Viva Pinata 2. Waiting on reviews for Banjo.

? What is so not fun? Just gotta be using the right characters. Yoshimitsu is always a good time.
1599  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Soul Calibur IV Release Thread on: July 31, 2008, 10:57:19 AM
Ah, I probably accidently hit them in the middle of a combo or something... I'll have to restrain myself to get this to work.
1600  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Soul Calibur IV Release Thread on: July 31, 2008, 03:17:19 AM
Yeah, I haven't gotten it to work yet either... we must be doing it at the wrong time... can anyone fully explain the trigger for when it will work (beyond them being red).
