Watched it... alright I guess but nothing too awesome thus far. At least it set up some interesting things for a continuing storyline as opposed to just being episodic.
1442  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Amazon MP3 Daily Deal plus various other MP3 deals (keep it updated!) on: April 07, 2009, 09:10:34 PM
Hmm, I'm tempted to buy the Rascal Flatts album... but I'm dissapointed by the $4.99 pricepoint for a MP3 Daily Deal so I'll hold off.
1443  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 2 on: April 05, 2009, 09:24:54 PM
Hmm, I've fallen behind. I'm not around when it's on but have watched via hulu. I'll have to try to catch up soon..
1444  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: WTF? on: April 05, 2009, 01:39:21 PM
Yeah, the past week or two have been horrible. Don't know if it's the economy, random chance or what, but it's no good.
1445  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: [Steam] Weekend deal - TR Anniversary $5.00 on: April 04, 2009, 01:48:16 PM
If I hadn't already owned/played it I'd be in. Great deal.
1446  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: tv - ER final ep on: April 03, 2009, 03:29:12 AM
Not too much happened in the last five minutes, but yeah I guess you should see it at this point! Overall I was expecting a bit more, but it was still nice and tied up a couple things nicely. Good to see everyone and such. Always good to see Carter. As you said, it was pretty classis ER.
1447  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Question about shopping for a first mortgage on: April 02, 2009, 08:49:49 PM
Yeah, you should be able to talk to bank people and get an estimate or pre-approval or something. I presume you can do so for free but I'm not sure as I don't remember the process that well.
1448  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Amazon MP3 Daily Deal plus various other MP3 deals (keep it updated!) on: April 02, 2009, 08:46:44 PM
Daming, how did I miss Shatner!  Ceekay, you need to post at like 6 in the morning to make sure I don't miss it and forget to check again at night.
1449  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Best Netbook? on: March 30, 2009, 10:24:57 PM
I ended up grabbing a 1000HE for my wife. We've only had it a couple days but it's worked nicely so far.
1450  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Nutflex raising price for blu ray rentals on: March 30, 2009, 08:37:22 PM
Hah! Us HD-DVD early adopters get our revenge!
1451  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Best Netbook? on: March 23, 2009, 09:15:02 PM
Anyone have experience with these with 1gb vs 2gb? Does it make a significant difference (yes, I realize it is only 20 bucks).
1452  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Reaper, Season 2 on: March 17, 2009, 11:18:41 AM
Missed them... is there a place to see the eipsodes online?
1453  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Worms out 3/7/07 on: March 10, 2009, 05:50:17 PM
Hehe, I'll be out of town until the weekend... but I could be up for it sometime. Haven't played in a while.
1454  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Star Ocean : The Last Hope HELP!! (Spoilers} on: March 10, 2009, 02:11:52 AM
I think I was late 40s or 50 or so (i had to level up for it). I had a much harder time with the fight and even when I beat it I only had two characters left. (I played Edge, Meracle, Reimi, and Lymle). Suggest hopping around a lot when they all focus on you, try to get them down to one guy and heal everyone up before the next wave.

For leveling up, use the save point and heal point right before the fight. Go kill everyone, come back and heal/save. Repeat as necessary.
1455  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: GoGamer Madness - Empire:TW $36, others on: March 07, 2009, 10:41:03 PM
I grabbed Sam and Max for that price.
1456  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Star Ocean : The Last Hope Impressions on: March 07, 2009, 10:37:04 PM
Hehe, a bit further in Sarah doesn't say much which helps. I hit the phantoms a bit ago, that was the first time I'd have to go level up for quite a while. So many rounds of people to fight...
1457  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Government jobs on: March 04, 2009, 03:45:12 AM
Doesn't help right now, but during grad school an option is interning/graduate fellow type position when you're out of school. Once you get that foot in you usually get an offer. But as others have said... if you know people that can get your application looked at that always helps.
1458  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Government jobs on: March 04, 2009, 02:11:06 AM
It's also harder in the current environment as so many people are looking for them. If you'd been looking a couple years ago they were much easier to find. It also depends on the job you're looking for. E.g., govt is still hiring lots of computer security people.
1459  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Chinese games on: March 03, 2009, 04:02:29 AM
Just wondering if anyone has tried any of the Chinese MMORPG's (E.g. Perfect World II/Perfect World International)? I know there aren't that many in English, but I was wondering how they compare. Also interesting as they often use a free-game but microtransaction style method for revenue.
1460  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Which old PC Game Debeloper would you bring back? on: March 03, 2009, 04:00:41 AM
Probably Microprose... so many good games. Sure Sid is around making similar games, but I could do with a Masters of Magic re-make! Other than that, Origin for Wing Commander.
1461  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Mega Snowstorm for the Northeast - Here it comes! on: March 02, 2009, 02:13:31 PM
I had some travel time so I've justified staying home... don't know if my wife will though  icon_twisted
1462  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Reaper, Season 2 on: March 02, 2009, 02:03:24 PM

1463  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Amazon MP3 Daily Deal plus various other MP3 deals (keep it updated!) on: March 01, 2009, 02:22:20 PM
Hehe, I grabbed it. Everyone has their issues with Creed, but I liked-um back in the day and lost my cds a long time ago.

Just picked it up today after finishing Fable 2.. will get thoughts up once I get into it.
1467  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (2/23) on: February 24, 2009, 12:38:21 AM
I would buy Star Ocean for 360, but I have to finish Fable 2 first.  It'll be coming soon though.
1468  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: ER Dr Carter returns on: February 23, 2009, 03:02:11 AM
Yeah, with Dr. Carter back I might even tune in even though I haven't watched in like a year and a half.
1469  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Night at the Museum 2 on: February 22, 2009, 06:43:15 PM
That trailer might have given away a lot of scenes, pretty long. That said I really enjoyed the first and will definitely go see this since it has all the original cast.
1470  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: My Name is Bruce on: February 15, 2009, 03:48:26 PM
Wasn't it 1.5 million? I thought they said they could make 133.3333 movies with a $200 million budget. Gonna be out of town, but then I'll watch the Heart of Dorkness extra for the details.
1471  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / My Name is Bruce on: February 15, 2009, 04:54:48 AM
Just watched it... certainly not a classic film, but a fun watch if you're a big Bruce Campbell fan like me. Lots of inside jokes from his movies and books and some great extras. Film is a bit slow with limited action, but still fun.
1472  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Square Enix to buy Eidos? on: February 13, 2009, 04:32:17 AM
I would totally buy a Lara Croft rpg...

1478  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: All Time Box Office Winners- Adjusted for Inflation on: February 10, 2009, 02:37:52 AM
Also note economies of scale have occurred so movies can be shown for less than the increase in inflation over the years.
1479  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: What are you doing with your tax refund? on: February 10, 2009, 02:35:03 AM
Still waiting for the accountant wife to figure it out (our taxes are complicated this year). Will let you know when I find out if I lose or get money...
1480  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Holy crap. I just realized it's been 10 years since I joined GoneGold. on: February 10, 2009, 12:45:13 AM
Hmm, now I'm going to have to figure out when I joined GG...

On a side note... Blackjack, I think I was actually at the Nox event in Virginia with a friend too (if it was in Northern Virginia)! I wasn't the OGR guy but that was the only release event like that I've been to. It was actually a pretty fun, if limited, game.
