You can't bow out, I know you'll actually play!
1402  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Bloodbowl North America league? on: July 07, 2009, 09:11:37 PM
That would be 6. Should I make it like that or make 8 or more and give room for a couple more people to join? I'm happy keeping on the smaller side if it means we can get more games in and keep only more active people.

1403  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Bloodbowl North America league? - Season has started! on: July 07, 2009, 03:16:29 AM
Putting out a call to see who would be interested in making another league for those in N. America. I'd like this to be a league with people willing to play pretty often and that are generally available for playing sometime in the evening.  Idea being to have it move faster/more regularly than the combined league we have now. In any case, post if you're interested so we can make a league of the right size... Again, this is meant to be pretty active if possible...

Roddick showed a log of poise. In the past he might have started the same but that 2nd set tiebreaker might have broken him mentally. Here he kept it together and played a great all-around match.
1405  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [XBLA] Worms 2 Armageddon on: July 05, 2009, 11:31:27 PM
I'm having fun with it (as I do all worm games). My only complaints would be 1) it seems more zoomed out than I'm like, 2) the new map styles add variety which is good, but seem more uneven in fun than the traditional ones.
1406  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [PC] Bloodbowl online GT league on: July 05, 2009, 11:23:57 PM
I'll be bak and available later tomorrow night.

I'll be trying to get up early to watch Andy tomorrow. Anyone know what time (EST) the match will be, and what channel? I've been out of town and haven't had a chance to watch, it nbc?
1408  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [PC] Bloodbowl online GT league on: July 03, 2009, 12:16:38 AM
So if Arkon and Kato can play we can get to round 2! Too bad I'll be out tomorrow-monday...

Go Andy (Roddick)!!!
1410  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Bloodbowl - Warhammer/American football/fantasy football on: July 01, 2009, 02:48:28 AM
Ouch, my wood elf SP team just suffered it's first serious loss after steamrolling for quite a while. At least my Treeman leveled up to level 4... so now has Block, Multiple Block, Guard, and something else that I forget smile. Next up is Skaven too, I think he'll have some fun with them.

Probably ebayable for that or less too
1412  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (6/29) on: June 30, 2009, 09:29:40 PM
What is wrong with you people!!!!

WORMS 2! Sure it's a recreation of Worms Armageddeon from the PC, but I still love it...

Blazblue is a sometime later (price drop or goozex) type pickup for me, but does look fun.
1413  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: GT/OO Euro Blood Bowl League on: June 30, 2009, 09:25:46 PM
How many of the Euro players are probably willing to play around 5:00 EST (11:00 Euro?)? I usually get home 4:30ish.
1414  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [PC] Bloodbowl online GT league on: June 30, 2009, 09:23:27 PM
Good game. I'm happy to have gotten a Black orc leveled up so he has block now. Excellent... And an apothecary for whenever I play Chaos!

I don't know who I'll play next, but I'll be out of town fri-mon for the 4th so will be unavailable then (happy to play wed/thur if we get to second round of games by then). When I get back, if no one else has made one (feel free), I'll start a second league too.

I want mutations frown. Getting block and Mighty Blow for all my Orcs isn't nearly as exciting.

I'm willing to start it, but not for a couple days until it sounds like the current bugs in their servers and/or patch are worked out...
1418  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Bloodbowl - Warhammer/American football/fantasy football on: June 30, 2009, 01:33:32 AM
Yeah, I think they should do a reverse patch to take us back to the last version... Is that why my opponents always have inducement money, because my team is better? I always wonder how they have 230k to waste each round. (In SP I haven't lost in like 12 games over two teams, couple ties though).

Hehe, we can if you want. I'd still play I'm sure. This will be like fantasy sports for me, end up with more leagues than I should...
1421  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [PC] Bloodbowl online GT league on: June 28, 2009, 06:13:03 PM
I'd be more apt to play goblins once bombadiers and such are in it. Without them they have some disadvantages...
1422  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Bloodbowl - Warhammer/American football/fantasy football on: June 28, 2009, 02:06:33 PM
Dwarves can be tough, but if you're an offensive team you need to score early in case they grind you out. I've had pretty good luck in SP using wood elves, but ymmv as you noted.
1423  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [PC] Bloodbowl online GT league on: June 28, 2009, 02:04:42 PM
I'd say we can always make a second league (since I don't know how long each round will take us and it'll be nice to mix it up with different style teams). Personally I wouldn't want tooo many more teams in the league or we will only play one another enough. But I don't care too much either way, so don't let me hold it back smile.

(I'm still playing Orcs for the league, but I've been playing fast teams for fun and I think I'm actually better at them... although I may just have been lucky in that I haven't gotten my whole team killed yet).

1425  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Windows 7 Home Premium (upgrade) $49.99 pre-order on: June 27, 2009, 04:11:41 PM
Is the upgrade from XP smooth (outside of any driver issues)? I might upgrade my VISTA, but deciding for my wife's XP box. Does the upgrade happen without having to reformat, etc? I've never bothered to do a MSFT OS upgrade on a box before.
1426  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Bloodbowl - Warhammer/American football/fantasy football on: June 27, 2009, 03:55:44 PM
Hmmm. I guess. One team type can get boring though. Maybe we'll have to start a second league later so people can mix it up. Ok, well, I sent an application to Harkonis for my team.

As for fan factor for whomever asked, I think the answer is as many as you think you can afford to start. I always tend to ignore it so I can have better starting players.. but then I wonder why I never get any money after a game. I'm being good this time and making sure I have some.

1428  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Bloodbowl - Warhammer/American football/fantasy football on: June 27, 2009, 03:44:12 PM
Ready to join. You want me to join as Orc, Dwarf or Skaven (leaning Orc or Skaven, but undecided)? I still don't know who's already in the league.and don't want to duplicate. Will be back on around 3:00 to join the league and play if someone is around.... Hell, I could even be convinced to try an elf team probably if you pressured me enough. Orc are the team I'm most comfortable though from past.
1429  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Bloodbowl - Warhammer/American football/fantasy football on: June 27, 2009, 03:06:38 PM
I was having the same problem as Arkon... will try again in a few
1430  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Bloodbowl - Warhammer/American football/fantasy football on: June 27, 2009, 03:45:02 AM
I'll do you one better, I'm installing it now.

OK, added Harkonis as a friend. Please let me know how to join. Also, what team types are you playing? Want to make sure I play something different to mix it up.
1431  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Bloodbowl - Warhammer/American football/fantasy football on: June 26, 2009, 08:38:22 PM
I never did try the semi-real time in the demo... the league using that or classic rules? The game didn't seem all that different from the previous blood bowl release with newer graphics, but then again I like the game either way so I'll still get it if I can be in a league.
1432  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Bloodbowl - Warhammer/American football/fantasy football on: June 26, 2009, 07:21:14 PM
Is there still room in the current league or plans to expand? I might grab this tonight.
1433  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Halo Wars Impressions. on: June 26, 2009, 11:23:25 AM
It was definitely a fun game. Little simplistic, and though there were some tough missions once you got the big units out it was hard to lose. Great cut-scenes and decent levels kept me going the whole way through though. (Plus it's not really too long).

Thanks for the heads up as I hadn't known about the show. Seems worth watching given the lack of anything else on sundays this time of year.

Someone has a post in the trading forum that they are looking for cards.
1438  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: Looking for MtG cards on: June 21, 2009, 01:58:55 AM
For the pre-expansion sets you can tell by the border, darkness of the card, etc. I played back in the revised/4th edition days. Started around Arabian Nights... but I don't have any of my cards anymore frown. Somewhat miss them.

Gets harder as you move down and the AIs have better cards than you smile. But I'm on the 10th person now I think in the campaign.
