124  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas? on: June 16, 2013, 10:16:29 AM
For whatever reason F3 didn't hold me as well and I stopped like 1/3 in. Finished Vegas. So I guess I vote that. Although it could also mean I need to go back and play Fallout 3...
125  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Playstation Plus - Now with lots more free games! on: June 05, 2013, 11:01:27 AM
They probably get some DLC money too. I bought a couple of the sleeping dogs DLCs at least.
126  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS3/360/PC] Remember Me on: June 03, 2013, 09:08:44 PM
One of the more dispersely review games I've seen in a while. Reviews are all over the map.
127  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (06/03) on: June 03, 2013, 11:01:21 AM
Heading out for a few days so nothign for me this week. But watching Remember Me.
128  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS3] Remember Me on: June 02, 2013, 11:35:00 PM
The review itself wasn't really negative enough to justify the score. They didn't hate any part, just found it repetitive and wished it had more exploiration of the world and memory hunter sequences. Thought the story, camera, cutscenes were all good, and combat passable.
129  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS3] Must Haves on: June 01, 2013, 03:51:22 AM
PSN Plus is totally worth it.

I second Valkyria Chronicles, add Tales of Graces F for some nice JRPGing

How do you tell your gear score?
132  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Neverwinter on: May 27, 2013, 01:55:15 AM
Just hit 60 and spent a lot of my astral diamonds from founder to gear up. Burnt though, so I'll wait a day or two to try out the high lvl stuff (and finish the last couple SP areas).

I love Starship Troopers... but I'm also pretty sure they could mock it effectively

I haven't played in months, but I'll break it out again for Tiny Tina DLC, which sounds hillarious.
138  Gaming / Analog Gaming / Re: 2nd Edition AD&D is kinda back! on: May 22, 2013, 03:36:00 AM
Ah, memories. I grew up on 2nd edition. Never played when I was old enough to really do it right though... 2nd graders don't make the best DM's  icon_wink

I still have a couple of my old dungeons from back then in a drawer somewhere

Neverwinter (PC)

Sleeping Dogs (PS3) - Great so far, especially as a PS+ game

I think rareness overwhelms quality in the reccomendations for quite a while for some reason. Does not mean it is better.

Advantage to wife being a CPA - she does the taxes
Disadvantage to wife being a CPA - she pays things like state taxes on online purchases (which as noted everyone is theoretically supposed to do, but no one does)

I see no reason not to impose taxes though, as long as it's at enough value to be worth the pain it'll cause smaller online retailers if the threshold is too low

Just watched the first two episodes on netflix and thought they were great. Really excited to watch the rest, and even more excited I'm starting a show that has actually been renewed.

They come as you level up. I forget when for what, but it'll come via mail. E.g. you get mount at lvl 20. Companion and weapons earlier.

We finally got The Wanderers guild up!!!  Thanks to all involved for their patience.

Please post your @acctname here if you can't find someone to invite you.  Seems like shard you started on doesn't matter (as people have mentioned).  Teggy joined us without incident even though he rolled on a different shard.

Presently these people can invite:

@rittch68
@1Cortilian1
@Phalcan554

I've only unlocked the first tier of Guild Bank (it takes crystals) but if it looks like we need more, I'm sure we can work something out.

The screen that pops up when you first log on (or if you hit L) has the skirmishes, PvP, Dungeons, etc for Queue.

Yeah, if a bunch of people go a guild I'll join. Just send me info. I am lazy.

I'm lvl 28 now and the Nightmare Lockbox is the only pay to play thing I've seen. And really in the end that's mostly cosmetic (e.g. different mount).
157  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Weekend Playlist - 5/03/13 on: May 04, 2013, 02:19:42 AM
Neverwinter

Maybe Sleeping Dogs when it's out on PS+ Sunday

It was quite good. Perhaps even too lighthearted at times, but fun, I enjoyed the twists.

Yeah, I like that they give you the average play time. Very helpful.

I played Tilt's mission last night.  No complaints, it was pretty well done.  Only problem I had was the outdoor area seemed laggy for some reason.  Not sure if this is due to server load.  Unfortunately all the text was putting me to sleep, I shouldn't have started it at 1 AM when the queues finally let me in.  I knew going in that it was text heavy but I wanted the foundry bonus and the quest length said 20 mins although I think it took me longer than that.

The lag was due to server issues with the amount of players. It has nothing to do with my quest. Also, never take the average time for granted. A lot of people don't read even a single word of the quest dialogues and do nothing but run towards the end as fast as they can. Expect to spend more time than what the estimate says.

By the way, don't play the sequel (The Lanaar Legacy) unless you've got some time to spare. The current average time is about 45 minutes, making it one of the longer Foundry missions out there as far as I can tell. smile

Anyone have some good foundry missions to try?

Agh, queue position #4042... I'll try later when more servers are up again... not loving that though.
