That is funny, I'm really enjoying the support soldier role. I used to be must be first in score, must beat the other people in this cooperative venture. MUST BE FIRST! Glad I finally relaxed and realized it's ok if I'm not top score (I usually wasn't anyways) But as I said earlier I enjoy playing the support soldier role, bad guys get behind cover let me pop them out of it, shielded no problem let me get those shields for you, those guys flanking my team, not a chance pop cool down and take them down. Of course it helps when the team listens as well. Everyone to the objective spots, get cover and I roam the area make sure no one gets behind us pretty fun stuff.

I'm in love with my Krogan sentinel maxed melee/rage damage with weapon damage only drawback is that he's slooooow and no dodge what so ever. I haven't had the same luck with my Krogan Soldier, with him I went for max weapon damage max health and my weapons are all pretty much in the II to III range so he doesn't do so hot. Are you guys having much luck getting weapons?

I'm so torn between Dark Souls and Skyrim. Both are amazing game experiences, deep and rewarding. I adore the exploration and combat, and sense of dread and looming death in Dark Souls, most fights are to the death. Later on this gets a bit easier as your stats level up but early on every fight is epic, and it rewards you for learning and using combat. The downside of Dark Souls was the lore and the world doesn't really give you much to go on, it took me forever to figure some things out, and granted there is a great Dark Souls wiki but there really should be more of to the story, more of the lore available in game.
Skyrim is much slower paced but no less beautiful to explore, it's world just sucks you in, with its lore and it's amazing vistas. The combat isn't very good, it does the job I've tried a few different combat modes and the magic felt underpowered, and the melee was just clunky, the ranged bow combat felt pretty good, but overall I'd say the combat is Skyrim's weakest point, not to say this majorly detracts from the experience. The rest of the game though is a wonder, every dungeon filled with danger, vast distances to explore, puzzles to figure out, and a grand addictive story just waiting to be discovered.

I did a lot over the weekend. Blighttown done. Good progress in the Forest. Sen's Fortress done. Along the way I defeated Quelaag, Ceaseless Demon, Hydra, Moonlight Butterfly, Havel, and the Iron Golem. With the right gear Blighttown was just annoying (as others have already said...framerates suck in there). I can imagine it would have been really frustrating without the Spider Shield. I realized once I got to Sen's Fortress that the Drake Sword was past its prime. I started upgrading a standard battleaxe getting it up to +8, and then I found the Lightning Spear (which is now +4). I also picked up an awesome set of armor from the atlar near the Ceaseless Demon that makes my guy look like Death and it weighs next to nothing. I made the mistake of running around the forest in human form seeing if I could summon the npc for the moonlight butterfly fight. I got invaded by someone obviously well geared for pvp. He had some kind of shield spell or partial invisibility that seemed to be absorbing damage, he mostly attacked by throwing poison darts (not a big deal since I had ton of purple flowers). After about 10 minutes of dancing around each other barely doing any damage, I think he got frustrated and whipped out a big fire based sword and killed me quickly. I'm guessing he had some of the spells from the merchant you can summon after defeating the gold crystal golem in the lake. The butterfly fight ended up being easy solo. Sen's Fortress was really frustrating for the first 45 minutes until I learned all of the patterns and enemies. The developers are cruel not putting a bonfire in plain sight. Once I got to the white fog leading to the boss fight I had to check online for a bonfire because there was no way in hell I was going to run through all that shit again. Cruel, cruel Fromsoft I cleared a path to the white fog before the Sif fight, but turned back because I wanted a better weapon. I'll go back and get him later. Some jackass npc killed my fire kindler npc at Firelink, so apparently I need to hunt him down in Anor Lando or the Ruins. That's where I'm off to next. I had the same thing happen to me, the invasion that is only I was going to go for Sif and wanted to be human to summon. Well I got invaded four times, even after you kill them the white wall thingy doesn't go down. Next time I'm just going to quit out or something I couldn't leave and kept getting invaded was crazy.

I hate blighttown not because it's difficult but because it's annoying beyond measure, frame rate issues, camera getting wonky, and constantly being poisoned. Second time through there and I still haven't found the ninja immune poison suit *shrug*
The poison isn't so bad. It takes a long time to really damage you, and you can get a solid poison resistance ring at the base of the bell tower for 15000 souls. It gives +400% poison resist, which helps a lot. Curing poison is also really cheap, as long as you remember to stock up on moss before heading down to Blighttown. I never bothered curing, I'd just equip the evil eye ring the one that would give you back health on kill, and it became a non issue but still hate it down there need to get the rusty iron ring to, was slogging through everything down at the bottom. Damned poo water!

OK, was loving this game, but blighttown has me on the verge of ragequitting. Jeebus, From Software, would it kill you to playtest the thing so the fucking camera doesn't kill me? and the slodowns in Blighttown suck horrendously. I don't mind my many deaths because a boss bisected me with a weapon larger than the house I live in, but dieing because a crappy camera can't handle a bunch of wooden structures is just plain bad programming. I'm keenly aware in blighttown that it's not the difficulty that's a problem, it's the tediousness. (And the perma-respawning flies that don't drop any souls/items? Just a dumb idea. That is the point at which you went from 'difficult' to 'tedious')
Ouch I've been avoiding Blight town glad I have sounds awful.

I am so loving this, it has exceeded my expectations. I've tried a few classes and always come back to my Knight. I love how unforgiving this game is, you cannot take anyone lightly, and you cannot just blast through an area, or you will pay dearly. So far I found the Elite Knight Armor is there anything better for heavy armor classes? I'm sure there is. Secondly does armor drop off of bosses or just weapons and items?
So far I managed to get my hands on Black Knight Sword, Black Knight Great Sword and the Black Knight Halberd. The stat requirements on the great sword and halberd are crazy and won't be seeing their use anytime soon, but I just got my stats up high enough to use the sword, love it tossed two upgrades on it, just beastly and it scales with your str/dex unlike the drake, and it's cheap to upgrade unlike the drake.
In addition I got cursed that was a lot of fun fighting my way out of that hell hole with half my total health, then getting the 6000 souls to buy the purging stone. How are you guys doing for souls? I'm always always broke, I just had 15,000 and spent them before I lost them, was like fuck it time to level up.
Managed to do a bit of co-op as well my first partner got eaten by a bush before I was able to hack it to death, though i did save him twice from the same fate prior. My second partner out leveled me by a wide margin and I didn't survive to long in his world, one giant bush nearly killed me and couldn't use an estus flask to heal up.
Lastly a big fuck you to those three Meowligators, if you fought them you'll know what I'm talking about killed them but took a few runs to do it.

I wonder what the mini strat guide contains? But aside from that it's a nice case, and since it cost as much as a normal edition I don't mind. So got my way to first demon guy, plummeted off the edge falling right in front of him and I managed to beat him, first few attempts didn't go as well but finally got him. Loving this game!

You have any idea or tricks to get people you know in the same group as you? I'm totally in the dark as I never played Demon Souls and didn't even realize this would be an issue. Hopefully we can figure it out, also I have a ventrilo server we could use since they are disabling communication except for gestures.

I will most likely be in for this as well. Never played Demon Souls but the concept intrigues me enough to want to play it now that the sequel will be on the 360.
Great someone else who is new. I know when demon souls came out I was dieing to play it, even bought a copy of it though I didn't have a PS3.

Not sure who else will be getting in on this, but this will be my first time through on any of the souls games, didn't have a ps3 so never got to try demon. So I'm going in very very green, looking for some people to play co-op with. So if anyone is interested in playing some Co-Op post your xbox live tag and I'll add you to my friends list. Can't wait October cannot come soon enough.
