Bilon is certain that the image of Rangrim was a warning, but beyond that he cannot say.  Nor can he prove what he feels.  Which Shardminds are holding Rangrim?  He doesn't know.  Bilon feels, though, deep in his bones, that Rangrim does have a role to play in this whole mess.

On Batman: AA, it benchmarks close to the Radeon HD 7870, which is about five levels above your current card.  Tom's Hardware recommends that you be at least three levels apart in order to see a noticeable improvement.  And their overall opinion is that the cards are a bit of a wash.

I just wanted to say thanks for posting this info.  I'm looking at upgrading my GTS 250 and the level chart has been a great help.  Looks like my card is still hanging tough, at least from my desired price range.

You're not being confrontational, and I'm not trying to be either.

My point is/was that submitting a dxdiag report is a common practice in betas and I doubt that it would be practical to have each file to be named differently when submitting them.  As a managment standpoint that would be a nightmare.

What I imagine what happens when sending the file is that on their storage network/database they probably keep that file linked to the account that was created/existed for that beta application.  Meaning, your account is what identifies what system properties you have.

What I'm guessing could have happened is that when you updated the dxdiag file to EA/Origin, maybe there was something wrong with the server/path and it was sending that same file to the same repository as other people causing the problem (not you, but the website)

Either way, I'm glad it worked.  Hope to be your neighbor Tongue

I think you are probably quite right.  I think I've spent too much time with ex-girlfriends this last week.  It's got me skittish.  paranoid  I'm sure I'll see you in the game.  Look for the guy trying to use mass transit in a town of 25 people.   icon_biggrin

Now at least one person is reporting the name change doesn't help either, anymore. The name thing might have been a temporary work around for a different issue that is recurring.

I'm curious, though, as to how the online/offline dynamics will play out.

I'm trying to sign up but it says it can't move my dxdiag files.

I'm in.  Apparently your dxdiag file name has to be unique.  No other user can have used the same file name so "dxdiag.txt" will only work for one person.  I added a bunch of gibberish to the title and it worked.
EA.   *Fist Shaking*

I don't think that's the reason.  I submitted mine without changing the title.  Probably a server hiccup.

It could be.  I found that answer from the EA boards, but I wonder if there is a cycle time involved or something.

Considering that most beta's I've participated (and that's many) they all ask for the dxdiag.txt and I have never heard of anyone having problems with sending the file if the file was the same name as other people signing up.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your point.  I'm just saying what the forums said to do over at EA and when I did it it worked.  http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/8902062.page  This is the thread I got the help from and got it to work.  It could be a server hiccup.

edited again because I hate to sound confrontational.  Even on the internet.  sigh.

Ecuador grants Wikileaks founder asylum

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19281492

Quote
Ecuador has granted asylum to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange two months after he took refuge in its London embassy while fighting extradition from the UK.

It said his human rights might be violated if he is sent to Sweden to be questioned over sex assault claims.

Foreign Secretary William Hague said the UK would not allow Mr Assange safe passage out of the country and the move was also criticised by Stockholm.

Ecuador said it would seek to negotiate arrangements for Mr Assange to leave.

"We don't think it is reasonable that, after a sovereign government has made the decision of granting political asylum, a citizen is forced to live in an embassy for a long period," Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino said.

Mr Assange took refuge at the embassy in June to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he faces questioning over assault and rape claims, which he denies.

now if they can just get him out of the country.

Yeah, that's not going to happen.  Assange voided into the British legal system's cornflakes and they aren't letting him off.  Then he turned to a nation with (allegedly) horrible press rights to protect him - the guy who is the self-proclaimed poster child for free speech and press.  Ecuador wants to piss of both the US and the UK.  I imagine the US doesn't really want him to get extradited to the US because it might be a mess trial.  Of course, I would be terrified of going to trial in Sweden.  Those bastards are notorious for...uh, ...for, uhm, Swedish Bikini Teams, uhm, yeah.,   uhm.  how much is ticket to Sweden?

Unfortunately for me, the blending of Console and PC just seems to indicate how insignificant PC gaming really is here.  I will check out the front page, but the games don't usually appeal to me at all.  I don't think I'm the target demographic.  It is making me check out OO again, though.  You can't please everyone.

PC is most certainly not insignificant on this site: http://gamingtrend.com/platforms/pc/

The merging of the two forums just indicates that we find the various consoles and PC as one large group of non portable platforms. Just as we don't have a 360 forum or a PS3 forum. Just as there are console specific games, there are a lot of cross-platform games, cross-platform including PC. We saw a lot of the same discussions in both forums about the same game. It felt like a logical move.

Our "target demographic" is gamers smile

I'm certainly one of those folks who is a forumite before a frontpageite(?) so I'll need to check it out.  Your link did give me more to check out than I expected to find there.

I'm not into console gaming much - I have horrible dexterity, etc.  Trying to figure out what button to push literally gives me a headache.  ABXYTrigger1Trigger2, etc.  Probably not harder than the PC, but I'm used to pcs.  I'm obviously not an action gamer so I realize that I am a dinosaur in the gaming world.  I'm not sure if this is chocolate in my peanut butter or peanut butter in my chocolate, but to me it is liver in my beef stroganoff.  Stay away!  Of course, I don't like changes so who knows how I will feel in a few months?  It just seems like I will have to plod through stuff I have no interest in.

trust me, I'm going to keep on finding PC games and posting about them.  unfortunately that means people only looking for PC stuff will have to sift through console games, or people looking for console games will have to sift through PC games.  I went through the first 3 pages and added '[PC]' to all the threads I started about PC only games if that helps.

I do appreciate the effort.  My first visit back to OO reminded my of the forum drama that breeds over there.  Sigh.
