I heard an Ensiferum song on Liquid Metal (Sirius XM Ch. 40) today and was intrigued. I grabbed their album Iron off of iTunes and instantly loved it. That was quickly followed up by From Afar, Victory Songs, Dragonheads, and Ensiferum (ST).
I remembered this thread and had to come back and praise all that is Ensiferum. Sure enough it was covered on page 1. I can certainly see how Kratz labelled it LARP metal. For me though, growing up in Nova Scotia, folk music has always been a really big influence. It's a shame I've missed out for the last 15 years or so.
Better late than never!

I just went through this back in November. I had my heart set on a 2011 Camaro SS RS for over a year. Once I test drove it I liked it, but I had problems with the field of view. The blind spots are horrible. I ended up buying a 2011 Mustang GT CS. Neither Chevy or Dodge can lay a finger on the 5.0L Coyote. To appease my wife I also test drove a Lexus IS 250 and hated it.
That said if I had to choose between the Camaro and the 370Z, I'd go for the Camaro.

Anyone watching the Flames vs Caps game tonight - Good God the Flames are playing some terrible hockey! 7-2 for the Caps after 2, this is the worst game by a NW division team I've watched so far this season. Iggy better start a fight before this ones over. I'm still waiting for the Flames to go in the inevitable tank so they can trade Iginla to LA. Hell no. The Oilers will offer him 90 million just on principle. Can you imagine the collective stroke in Calgary if Iggy came to play for the Oilers? Iggy has long been the only Flame I can stand (maybe Staios, since he was a warrior here); he seems articulate and intelligent. Born in Edmonton, too. Can't imagine how he ended up with the Flames! I for one couldn't take it. I experienced mild chest pains when we traded Phaneuf to the Leafs. It felt like the Doug Gilmour trade all over again. Trading Iggy would be bad enough. It would have to be an Eastern Conference team though. If he went to Vancouver or Edmonton I would completely lose my shit.

Two Saturdays in a row I've had plans and haven't been able to witness disgusting losses.
Awful!
No, what's awful is the highlight of my season so far is Ian White deflecting a puck past Kipper with his face. sweet. Edit- Huh, big win over the Oilers. For Whitey's sake I hope we didn't discover a new superstition.

I just went through the same process about a month ago.
So far I've got Persona 3, Final Fantasy I, God Of War: Chains Of Olympus, and Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles.
All are really good. Little Big Planet and Rachet and Clank: Size Matters are both on my radar.

I played about 4 games of BAP (On Pro). The changes so far seem to be all good ones.
The AI still appears to make some slightly dumb decisions, needless dump-ins, etc. Much better than '10 at any rate. Two players won't make a dozen passes between each other any more. The broken and dropped sticks is kinda neat. Forechecking is much better, pretty forgiving for stick infractions. I can't tell you how many frustrating highsticking calls I'd get in '10.
I absolutely suck at everything! Passing is bad, shooting is worse. I'm chalking that up to being a lowly CHL player. Hopefully once I get my stats up a bit more I'll see the god awful stuff occur less often.
I love the CHL teams. Thrilled about being able to play for the Halifax Mooseheads!
After reading Wolfer's post about HUT, I'm more interested in giving that a whirl.
More later...

See, I don't think it should count if it was intended to be a crappy movie.
The worst movie ever... Sideways
The tag line should've told me I'd rather have my brain scraped.. "In search of wine. In search of women. In search of themselves."
I actually had to force myself to watch that the whole way through. It became a personal challenge.

Supernatural - I'm just about to watch the last episode of Season 1. The Spartacus mini-series that was on Starz a while ago. Oh, I forgot Dexter. I'm waiting for Season 3 to become Instant watch available on Netflix.
All in all I prefer watching TV series on DVD. I can't stand waiting a whole week, or more if it's a split season thing to find out what happens. Unless it's Sons of Anarchy, I DVR the hell out that.

Yeah, I plan on going through them all. I had the original NES version when I was younger, and I picked up XIII recently. But I haven't played any of the titles in between. I figure this is a excellent way to catch up on the franchise.
I'm looking for a decent platformer too. Looks like Little Big Planet and Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles should be good.

Done deal. Picked up a PSP-3000, Final Fantasy, Persona 3 Portable and a 4Gb Memory Stick.
Pretty kick ass, thanks guys!
Nice work. Which Final Fantasy did you get (FF1, FF2, FFVII Crisis Core, FF Tactics, or Dissidia?) If it's FF Tactics, I can't even begin to imagine the time sink between it and Persona 3. I've put in well over 150 hours between those two games. The Final Fantasy I remake. But I haven't even touched it yet. I've been playing Persona 3 and haven't put it down yet.

not really sure what you're referring to. at all smile ... To be honest neither do I. I'm assuming like most gaming platforms there were issues that the majority of the consumer base didn't like or turned people off altogether. If not, then all the better

Game-wise I'm not really picky. One of the big selling points is I get to go back and play the majority of Final Fantasy games. I've only ever played I and XIII. GoW:CoO and the Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines peak my interest as well. I'm sure there are a fair amount to keep me busy.
I'm just wondering if it's worth while to buy now. Is the current platform (PSP-3000) a cumbersome pile of rubbish, or have they pretty much ironed out all the bugs since it's inception?
Thanks for the input!

I need some help. I'm thinking about picking up a PSP on the way home from work, but I'm kinda wishy-washy on the whole idea. At this stage in the game is it worth while? Or should I just wait until the 3DS comes out (I have a DS Fat). I was looking at that MGS: PW bundle to get me started, but I don't know. I've got the feeling this is like asking a dealer how much dope I should buy, but I trust you guys.

Picked up up tonight with MLB 10: The Show. GT FE strikes again. Only started working on the SP campaign so far. About 2 hours in. I'm liking it, never played BF:BC1 so I'm sure some of the characters/gags are over my head. For what it's worth I like it. It's on par with MW2. I notice that I'm being killed WAY to often. Certainly an issue I didn't have in MW2. I'll try the MP tomorrow, but it'll have to be something pretty freakin special to keep me from MW2 MP.

So far this has been my favorite Winter Classic game. I can think of no better city in the US to host it.
Bobby Clarke, Bobby Orr, the Dropkick Murphys, Carcillo and Thornton going at it in the first period. Awesome.
Go Bruins!

Yzerman's not in a bad spot. You really can't go wrong. But, with so much talent to draw from you have to build a team based on on-ice chemistry instead of individual talent (2002 US Olympic Basketball Team, anyone?). There are some surprizing cuts I didn't expect, Bouwmeester, Phaneuf, St. Louis. From the looks of it we're going to have a fantastic tournament this year.
I'm also really liking Finland's team this year. I love seeing The Monster added to Sweden's team. Hopefully spending some time with Lundqvist will help his game. Lord knows all Toskala can give him is ice time.

Huh. I always find FFA to be brutally unforgiving since you never have anyone watching your back.
If RTDM means ricochet, you might want to try a non-hardcore mode to get your bearings. Avoid Ground War since the map overpopulation can make things chaotic. Go with ordinary Team Deathmatch or Domination with forumers on your team, or Mercenary TDM if you're going solo.
Oops, I was referring to Mercenary TDM. I was calling it Random TDM. Either way, looking forward to running with you guys. I'll take all the help I can get.

Hey guys, at the risk of pulling you off topic a bit. I'm just starting out with the MP aspect and I'm wondering what would be the better match type to practice on. I'm not very good (0.75 KDR). I've been playing RTDM primarily, but since I've unlocked some of the others I'm just curious if some match types are a little more forgiving for noobs.

That Uber IT Networking Guru position is nuts. I'm a senior networking engineer and I don't know half of those things. I'd be impressed if you could find someone that knows copious amounts of each of those topics. I can sum up what I do to three areas, routing, switching, and filtering (firewalls). Past that you need a whole 'nother department.

It's hard to inticiapte where the puck is going in that situation. The thing I've found is as soon as the shooter lays his stick down is to come out and cut down the angle on the short side of the shooter.
In this case the shooter is right handed, so you know the puck is going to be on stick side of the goalie.
