5801  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Any foot doctors in the house? on: June 16, 2005, 01:54:36 PM
I have an appointment tomorrow evening.  I do a lot of walking at my job, usually 3 to 4 miles a day, and it is unfortunately unavoidable.
5802  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Any foot doctors in the house? on: June 16, 2005, 11:36:51 AM
The pain is in the muscle, and it is always in the same place, imagine tracing a line from your big toe, back to your ankle, over your ankle to the inside then up your calf about 3/4 of the way.  Touch my calf muscle in this area is quite painful, also beginning this morning my heel is very sore and the arch of my foot has an odd sensation, somewhat of a numbness.

5804  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Any foot doctors in the house? on: June 15, 2005, 02:12:39 PM
Ok, I need some advice.  I have been having some "foot" issues for about a week now.  My right foot is in pretty sharp pain whenever I walk.  The pain goes from the tip of my toes, along the top of my foot, through my ankle and up through the inside of my calf muscle.  While sitting it does not hurt only when I am actually walking.  Soaking it in hot water helped a bit but not much.  It is far worse in the mornings then it is in the evenings.  I can barely walk when I first get to work.  Any advice would be appreciated, as I have no choice but to walk a good bit while at work.

More than likely they have just been playing FPS for a very very long time and that is all they play.  I know a guy who is insanely good like that.  He snipes people for one shot kills, simply because his aim is superior and he is getting true head shots, where as when I snipe it takes me 3 to 4 shots because I am not hitting as accurately.  I think it all comes down to practice.

While there is much debate about the usefulness of hunters at high levels, they are a wonderfully easy class to solo with.

Well, I wanted to try this out with my hunter, (battlegrounds), unfortunately the wait said 10 minutes, 3 hours later I was still in line trying to get in.
5809  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Nintendo Revolution downloads free? on: June 03, 2005, 08:50:18 PM
I will believe it when I see it.  When they charge $19.99 for a single GBA cartridge with one classic game on it, I just don't see them offering the downloadable games for free.
5810  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Starshifter! How's your Progress in KOTOR 2? on: June 02, 2005, 11:31:51 AM
The problem I had with the ending was the gaping plot/story holes that were left.  The level design wasn't all that bad it was just that I play the game for the story, and the story just plain died at the end.

5812  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Any NCIS Fans here? on: May 25, 2005, 01:46:10 AM
Lol, my wife and I are doing the same thing as we watch House.  Sad as it is, I am glad it wasn't any of the other characters.  The worst part is we have to wait all summer now to get any sort of resolution to the situation, and I can't imagine how pissed off Gibbs is gonna be.
5813  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Any NCIS Fans here? on: May 25, 2005, 01:16:42 AM
Man I can't believe they killed off Kate.  I am so ready for Gibbs to kill that bastard.  I really thought the cast had a great chemistry, any idea if the actress that plays Kate is moving on to something else or was this done to keep us on the edge and keep us from getting comfortable?
5814  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / KOTOR 3 News? on: May 24, 2005, 02:56:23 PM
Again I felt that way through 75% of the game... but instead of just ending, in my opinion the game takes a step backwards as it ends.

Hell, MS may provide a cable themselves. At the very least, not ALL of the game saves are too big to fit on a memory card. In fact, I don't think most are too big.

I don't have firsthand experience with this but I've read that many games disable transferring saves in the dashboard even when the saves would technically be small enough to fit on the memory card.

This could easily be fixed with a live patch/file patch from a demo disc.  Of course if the game is so great that I want to be able to play it on the XBOX 360, I doubt I would mind replaying it from the beginning without my saves.
5816  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / KOTOR 3 News? on: May 23, 2005, 12:58:10 PM
I am guessing they are referring to the fact that the ending was rushed and not finished.  There were storylines completely dropped at the end such as the manufacturing plant that HK-47 was made in.  Obsidian was forced to release before they were able to finish the game.  the first 75% of KOTOR II was great... the last 25% was horrendous.
5817  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / XBOX 360 Backwards compatible (NOT) on: May 19, 2005, 08:54:40 PM
I personally don't care about backwards compatability.  I know for some people it is a big issue... I had a ton of PS1 games, PS2 came out and yay I can still play them all, but in the end I never did, I only played PS2 games.  While there are one or two XB games I would like to hang on to and keep playing, if I can't, so be it I just keep my ole XBOX hooked up for when I get a hankerin.  My guess is that MS will not require you to purchase a new version of the game, but will have some sort of download over live with a recompiled exe that requires the original disk in the system.
5818  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Which system(s) will you buy? on: May 19, 2005, 12:08:21 PM
So because MS was trying to appeal to a new crowd of gamers to broaden thier customer base they have alienated you?  I don't get it...hard core gamers are a very small percentage of the customer base... larger customer base for MS means more games developed which means a better overal gaming experience with the XBOX 360.  I am glad they are trying to draw in new gamers, and the E3 info has solidified my decision to already preorder the 360.
5819  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / When will you buy one of the new consoles? on: May 18, 2005, 05:48:24 PM

5821  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / System Discussion: Playstation 3 on: May 17, 2005, 03:33:03 PM
Personally the Dual Shock controllers are too small for my hands.  I loved the dreamcast controllers as well as the original XBOX controller.
5822  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / So where do you stand right now? on: May 17, 2005, 03:31:22 PM

After hearing the Nintendo Revolution will let you download and play nearly every Nintendo title ever, "from Donkey Kong to Mario Sunshine," they now almost certainly will get my money, especially if their price point is significantly less than the 360 and PS3, which seems likely to me.

I highly doubt they will give the games out for free.  They charge $14.99 for a single classic NES game that is playable on the Gameboy.
5823  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / So where do you stand right now? on: May 17, 2005, 12:37:41 PM
XBOX 360 will be a day one purchase, the others are a maybe.  I used to have XB, PS2 and GC, now I have XB and GC, and only play the XB.  The PS2 collected dust for over a year before I gave it away.  The GC I have for a small amount of exclusives.

5827  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / LOST - 05/11/05 on: May 12, 2005, 12:28:46 PM
The best part to me was Locke sticking it back to Jack.  Jack gets pissed saying locke lied about the hatch, Locke says he used discression.... then when locke hits him with 1. the guns and 2. kates background I think Jack finally "got it".  And of course the new character/extra they introduced whom I always refer to as Cliff from Matlock was quite funny.
5828  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Pic of Xbox 360 on: May 11, 2005, 11:52:55 PM
I can count on one hand the number of titles I actually enjoyed and were worth the price of buying on the PS2.  Everyone has different tastes...I would say 85% of the games I have played on XBox were worth the purchase for me.
5829  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Pic of Xbox 360 on: May 11, 2005, 05:19:22 PM
Well, 360 degrees is 1 "revolution", perhaps it is a way of saying a revolutionary X-Box.

I don't understand all this moaning.  Who gives a damn what color the system is and what shape it is.  As long as the thing has great games they could make it the size of a TV and neon pink and I would buy it.

You sure do have an odd way of saying, "gee I thought that review was a bit high.... this is why I thought it was high..." and actually listing out why you thought it was high... instead you bashed the site and it's reviewers...
5833  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Jade Empire 98%??? on: May 08, 2005, 11:48:22 AM
Personally I thought the review was dead on.  I personally enjoyed the game more than either KOTOR and am eagerly hoping for a sequel.
5834  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Forza Motorsport impressions here! on: May 06, 2005, 01:25:08 PM
I have not changed any of the difficulty settings and currently I am doing ok.  I am not very good at racing games, so even the beginner tracks are taking me a few times to get 1st place.  I upgraded my car a few times while staying in the same D subclass and that has helped.

Also if it is too easy turn off all those aides.

Sayid knows Locke cost them a possible opportunity to get rescued.  Locke's lame "whatever killed them might have endangered us" excuse was so stupid, it's not even worth considering for a moment.  Dude, that message was sixteen years old, does he really think what might have been menacing them 16 years ago is still active?  Or that ALL the survivors would have to trample to the jungle to the source, instead of just a couple of able bodied guys? So what's the big danger?

Since Locke has not provided food in so long, I'm surprised they tolerate them as much as they do.  I'm totally mystified as to where Sayid's "something tells me you will be important to us" feeling comes from.

Actually I think what locke was getting at was that the signal is a false hope.  For 16 years it has been transmitting and no one came.  Why get hopes up when it could be another 16 years with a different message.  Locke also is the only one who has seen the "heart" of the island, he knows much more about it than anyone else.  Locke's finding the plane is what leads Sayid to Locke as being important.  Not to mention the hatch which despite not knowing what it is, Locke has had a knack of finding things.

5838  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Jade Empire Credits on: May 03, 2005, 07:15:08 PM
Most of that was in 3 to 4 hour chuncks of time.  Actual days it took was 6 days.  When I get into a game I will play it every day until I am finished with it.  If I take a long break from a game that I am enjoying due to real life or other issues I will quickly lose interest and never go back to it.
5839  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Jade Empire Credits on: May 03, 2005, 04:17:21 PM
It all depends on your definition of fast... Jade Empire took me 18 hours to beat.  When I buy a game I take it home and play it... why would I spend money now if I am not going to even begin playing the game for another week.  I got involved in the story and wanted to progress through it... I explored quite a lot and got most of the side quests done without rushing.
