You sure do have an odd way of saying, "gee I thought that review was a bit high.... this is why I thought it was high..." and actually listing out why you thought it was high... instead you bashed the site and it's reviewers...

Personally I thought the review was dead on. I personally enjoyed the game more than either KOTOR and am eagerly hoping for a sequel.

I have not changed any of the difficulty settings and currently I am doing ok. I am not very good at racing games, so even the beginner tracks are taking me a few times to get 1st place. I upgraded my car a few times while staying in the same D subclass and that has helped.
Also if it is too easy turn off all those aides.

Sayid knows Locke cost them a possible opportunity to get rescued. Locke's lame "whatever killed them might have endangered us" excuse was so stupid, it's not even worth considering for a moment. Dude, that message was sixteen years old, does he really think what might have been menacing them 16 years ago is still active? Or that ALL the survivors would have to trample to the jungle to the source, instead of just a couple of able bodied guys? So what's the big danger?
Since Locke has not provided food in so long, I'm surprised they tolerate them as much as they do. I'm totally mystified as to where Sayid's "something tells me you will be important to us" feeling comes from.
Actually I think what locke was getting at was that the signal is a false hope. For 16 years it has been transmitting and no one came. Why get hopes up when it could be another 16 years with a different message. Locke also is the only one who has seen the "heart" of the island, he knows much more about it than anyone else. Locke's finding the plane is what leads Sayid to Locke as being important. Not to mention the hatch which despite not knowing what it is, Locke has had a knack of finding things.

Most of that was in 3 to 4 hour chuncks of time. Actual days it took was 6 days. When I get into a game I will play it every day until I am finished with it. If I take a long break from a game that I am enjoying due to real life or other issues I will quickly lose interest and never go back to it.

It all depends on your definition of fast... Jade Empire took me 18 hours to beat. When I buy a game I take it home and play it... why would I spend money now if I am not going to even begin playing the game for another week. I got involved in the story and wanted to progress through it... I explored quite a lot and got most of the side quests done without rushing.

I don't get the praise for FFX, I played it through, and finished it because it was a FF game, but god I hated it. It felt like an interactive movie with no exploration, not an FF game. Maybe as I age my tastes have changed, but given my utter dislike of FFX, there was no way I was going to try FFX-2.

Yeah ChrisGwinn, it was me, don't worry I got booted at the same time as you did, was a blast though while it lasted... course now I am in the next part of the world, man is it brutal. Another little gem I found that didn't seem to be documented... pressing "U" brings up a map that shows you where you have gone in a zone and you can click and drag within the map to scroll it around and see just how big the zone is.

Basically they start off with a template, however you can customize so that if you like the model for say a balanced char, but want to be magic, just customize it to have stats and styles you like as a magic char... at least that is my understanding of how it works.

LE needs to stop the blizzard hate.
He is like an ex-smoker that hates people that still smoke. Just back away from WoW, it obviously isn't for you. No need to spew venom everytime it is mentioned. Hrmm sort of like Raven needs to do with SOE? Lets see, there have been multiple free character transfers in EQ2... WoW transfers just started how long after thousands of people bitched because they couldn't play due to cues? EQ2 has had 1 paid content patch.... however they have had 6 major free content patches in addition to daily minor patches. WoW and EQ2 both ban farmers etc... WoW denies that people use EBay, SOE recognizes that Ebay can't be stopped so facilitates legal transfers on only specific servers. Beta - WoW was more a marketing demo where they didn't listen to beta player feedback... EQ2, I didn't buy the RTS nor play on Legends, yet I was in... odd.... Char Slots...EQ2 has 6 actually, which most still think is too low, personal preference, I only ever run 3 chars at max.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Nintendo Revolution - touchpad controllers?

What exactly could they do with a touchpad to "revolutionize" games tho... it would be ... ooh look a rts... that I can sort of control with this touchpad instead of a regular controller...or yay a racer that I can't control because all I got is this touchpad. I don't see the touchpad as being revolutionary like the dual shock was.

I would enjoy bathing if I could get more than 1/3 of my body in the water at one time. My bathtub is faitly short so I fit the back half of my upper body under water, or just my legs under water, so showers it is for me.

At this point I want to see a mass lynching of Chase. Maybe set up a hospital gauntlet that he has to run through with people throwing used needles, scalpels at him, perhaps a medical waste swamp he has to wade through. He really pissed me off!

Hehe.. I always thought it was cuddy... such as cuddly cute... but cutty... ouch agreed..nasty name for a doctor. I guess the thing with Vogler that I loved, despite hating him was that it threw a wrench into the usual order of things.. while they would still go through the usual routine to diagnose the disease, there was an unkown with Vogler. Now I am not sure what will happen... although I wonder what reprecussions there will be between House and Cutty with house knowing she voted to get rid of him initially.

Hrmm good insight KD...I wonder tho now with Vogler gone, there is a gaping hole in the show. As much as I hated Vogler, he really made me want to see what was going to happen each week between him and the hospital staff. And for goodness sake House needs to go find Cameron.

Wow, what an episode... I both lost all respect for cuddy then regained it. I have tremendous respect for Wilson as well now. Thank god Vogler is gone, what an ass he was. While the money for the hospital would have been great to have, it wasn't worth the price that came with it. Loved the episode all in all.
As an aside, did they ever really develop the signifigance of the drug the woman was taking for incontenance? House seemed rather interested in it, but then seemed to go nowhere or did I miss something.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / GameStop Acquires EB Games
|
on: April 18, 2005, 04:51:07 PM

I think this is great -- it moves games more into the mainstrean with the B&N ownership and get rid of EB Games, who overcharged, sell used items as new, and genrally suck. So lets see, Eb will now overcharge just like gamestop does, (at least in my area), sell used games as new just like gamestop also does, and generally suck as all the local gamestops do. In addition they will most likely get rid of a majority of PC games like the local gamestops have already done. In my area this is a step in the wrong direction for gamers.

I have yet to get a harmonic combo, I must suck or somethin heh. I am really loving the game, in chapter 3 currently. I think the best part has been an NPC I encountered in the Scholar's Garden of the city... wish I wrote his name down, absoultely fantastic writing for the character and encounter. I am glad the combat isn't any more complex then it is... it wouldn't be an RPG to me then. If I had to master the fighting like I would in a game like tekken I would not play the game... I just suck at pure fighting games.

I am only 2 hours in but so far I love it. I haven't had any framerate issues, I am really getting into my character, feeling for people I met etc...combat is a blast, not too tough but not too easy on default settings. Storyline so far seems very good and engrossing.

Well, got an hour in and I love it... although the wife made me stop to watch House. What character is everyone using? I am using the bonus character as I wanted to go magic and wanted to try first as a male character. That said I am curious as to the other characters, for exammple transformation, what style character best makes use of it?

Killer episode... any idea on when the next new episode/season finale is? Can the show truly exist without Locke? Sure does look like they are gonna kill him off from the preview.
One of my favorite lines was to the extent...
"Hurley if you faint..."
Was interesting to see Sawyer hand over the alchohol so quickly...
