In general the bulk of the interest has come over on Broken Forum, so I am going to have my main thread for the campaign be there.

The Court of the Mad Wizard on Broken Forum.

I am still hoping to have at least 5 players, so there is still space.

So wow there are some really bad quests on the Foundry.

I just did one, something along the line of "The Queen of Whispers"...First there were two doorways that if you turned in to them, you fell through the world and died.  I can forgive that, perhaps the tool is a bit finicky in building the map.  But otherwise it was like the author just went through and found monsters he thought were cool, and put them in a linear path of hallways to fight through.  Why exactly were there kobolds, intellect devourers, mind flayers, werewolves and bandits all in the same area, it just made no sense at all.

How do I find my account name?

Also how do I start crafting?  I am up to level 10 so far.

The Legate is to be tried as a war criminal.

For Kriv, the most pressing charge is that of "dragonocide".

The legate and the Prepotency would have you believe that the Penance is some sort of justice, but in the end an untold number of dragonborn have been tortured via the insertion of a vile spike into their throats, Kriv shows the scars of where his spike once resided. From what we have been able to deduce, there is no outcome to the penance other than death or being enslaved to the dark dwarves, which the Prepotency has some sort of alliance with.

In addition, the Legate is directly responsible for executing the last remaining member of the Black Fangs (I think that was their name) tribe.  The method of execution was to force feed grain to the mighty warrior until his stomach burst and then he was stuffed into a chest and left at the gates of Scaleport.

Next, while it occurred before Kriv came to be with the party, there are the crimes that were committed against the Crows, simply for the tribes choice of not joining the Prepotency.  The Crows wished to simply live in peace as a nomadic tribe, and that reality was shattered by the Prepotency.

Lastly, from my understanding, the Prepotency has harshly enslaved via the threat of extreme violence, the Shardmind.

I am sure there are countless other crimes, but these are what are most pressing in Kriv's mind.

These movies are so bad that they are good.  The fun thing is they totally play up the over the top style to the point of absurdity.  One of the best parts of Expendables 2 was the appearance of Chuck Norris.  It was so insanely over the top it was hilarious.  Throwing in a classic Chuck Norris joke was the icing on the cake.  If you want realistic action and a finely weaved plot, then look elsewhere.  If you enjoy cheesy B movie action with plot holes you can drive a tank through, this is for you.

Agreed, I got to watch Expendables 2 on my flight to France, and it made the flight rather enjoyable.  Had a blast watching it, and catching all the references to 80's flicks.

Kriv, not knowing anything specific about Crater Town, or the Crows really has no thoughts.

In a general sense, we just need to make sure there is somewhere to hold the prisoner while the trial is not being held.

Since I forgot to mentions this earlier...there is no need for anyone to purchase any rulebooks unless they become addicted to the system like me.  I have the guide, and for the 0 level funnel, this handy chart has everything you would need.

Also the fine folks from Purple Sorceror have a nifty little companion app that has all of the various spell, critical hit and fumble tables in it.

If anyone would look more info about the system, just let me know.

I am looking at using Roll20 as a virtual table top and something like Vent or Skype for voice chat, so "live sessions".  Perhaps 2-3 hours one night every week or two.

I am more than willing to admit I block ads.  They are intrusive, can be a security risk, can be offensive and overall just hinder my enjoyment of a site.  If I enjoy a site, I will find ways to support it, as I have in the past by donating a decent sum of money to Gaming Trend, or subscribing like I recently did to Roll20.net.

I also know that I am not your target audience, I do not read the front page as I no longer read gaming "news" or reviews.  I come to Gaming Trend for the forums, and the friendship, although to be honest I find I visit less and less as time goes by.  In the end Ron and company, you need to do, what you need to do.

So in addition to the D&D campaign we have been playing here on GT, I had been involved in a 4th edition campaign with some folks from Quarter To Three.  The DM, Rob O'Boston had gotten burned out on 4th edition, so the campaign was put on indefinite hiatus.  Just recently the gang got back together, but instead of picking up the 4th edition campaign, we are now playing a different system called Dungeon Crawl Classics or DCC for short.  The system is a pretty deadly system, harkening back to old school D&D, but without the fiddly mechanics like THACO etc.

The system uses some funky dice beyond the standard d6, d20 etc, like a d3, but when playing in a virtual environment that isn't a big deal.   DCC starts out with what is called a 0-level funnel.  Your characters start out as lowly villagers, farmers, fishermen etc... Each player rolls up a group of 4 characters, with the understanding that many will die, but those that live will become real adventurers with the ability to pick a class!  If you want to get an idea of what 0 level characters look like, there is a really neat 0 level party generator that creates a set of 4 random characters.

I have been having an absolute blast with the game, and am slowly inching my way toward trying to dip my toe into the DM pool, and am curious if there would be interest from my fellow GTers in giving it a try. I am not sure yet on when we would start, but understand the last time I did any sort of DMing was roughly 20 years ago with 2nd edition D&D, so I would like to use this to make sure I can handle it.  If we can get 4 or 5 folks interested, I am willing to pick up some premade adventures (The quality of the DCC premade adventures is really good from what I have seen, and there are tons of them).  I would likely look at using Roll20 which has worked well for the Quarter To Three group.

If you are interested in reading about some DCC play sessions, Jason Lutes over on Broken Forum has been blogging about a session he is running which is a great read.

<!--If you don't want to read whining...click away now, you have been warned! -->
<whine>

So on Saturday I flew from Pittsburgh to Detroit, then Detroit to Paris, and finally Paris to Toulouse, France.  All told by the time I got to my hotel I had been awake for 27 hours.  I took a sleep aid on the leg from Detroit to Paris, but was unable to fall asleep sadly.  So I make it to the hotel at around 1 PM local time (7 AM for my body), sleep for a few hours and then wake up so I can sleep later that night.  8 PM rolls around and I am exhausted, and I decided to go to bed.  I manage to sleep from 8 PM to 3 AM, but then am wide awake...wanting to force my body to adjust to the time I take a sleep aid and fall asleep at 4 AM, only to be awoken at 6 AM.  Now my body is very confused, tired from the sleep aide and I have to get ready to go to work.

Fast forward to today and I am in a full on cold.  Last night I got at most 4 hours of sleep as the cold and congestion kept me awake.  It was roughly 76 degrees outside and in my room as the hotel/motel has no AC and I am just miserable.  I went to a pharmacy but they only spoke french, took me 30 minutes to get what I hope is cold medicine.  To top it off I seem to have some sort of rash under both arms...which looks very much like what I had when I developed the Shingles...so hopping it is just some sort of allergic reaction.

At this point I am just praying I make it through the last 3 days of teaching my class so I can get on a plane and fly home, just to be screwed up even more.

Bahamut believes in Justice, and as such I feel we need to take along both Ginsreli and Grenus.

Does Kriv believe that some magical healing will improve the ability of both to travel, or at least that of Ginsreli?  We will have to deal with slower travel for this trial to have any sense of legitimacy.

Kriv has a "decent" working relationship with the priestess of Ioun (Can't remember her name, but the one in the old temple of Bahamut).  He will go an speak with her, to let her know the outcome of the recent battles, and to ask for permission to pray in the temple.  Kriv would like to seek guidance from Bahamut, beyond what to do with the Legate, but the larger ongoing war, as Kriv wishes to see the end of the enslavement of the dragonborn.

Watched the video this morning, but I was disappointed that the PC runs around holding the weapon.  Was hoping for sheathing and unsheathing

This video was all about the environments...I wouldn't worry too much at this stage about that as their focus was the backdrops.

Well we either need to somehow transport all of Cratertown to Scaleport, or we need to have Ryla become the new ruler of Scaleport (If she is agreeable to it) and our band of misfits needs to transport the Legate to Cratertown.

Penguins are an embarrassment of offensive riches now. I still don't trust Fleury enough to proclaim them Stanley Cup champions yet, though. Also when you have so many players coming in to the team there's always the issue of chemistry being affected.

As a Bruins fan, it sucks that we didn't get Iginla even though Calgary said we would. Feaster completely botched the trade, promising Boston (who had a much better package than Pittsburgh) that the trade was done without actually having Iginla waive his NTC. Then Iginla's list of 4 suddenly became a list of 1 and Feaster dumped him for basically nothing. Woops.

So I am curious, what is the truth on the offer...some places said the 1st round pick was conditional, others said it was not.  I think in the end, Feaster agreed to a deal without clearing it with Iginla.

Fleury is such an enigma...is the real Fleury the one who started this season giving up soft goals left and right, or is it the one who combined with Vokoun has given up only 9 goals in the last 9 games.

I realize no one here gives much of a damn about this thread this season, but I had to reactivate it after one of the biggest deadline trades in recent memory. Iggy to the Penguins for a 1st rounder and some rights to unsigned draft choices! Damn, I'll miss watching him play often, but if he can ignite with Crosby like in the 2010 Olympics that could be fun to watch.

Having 2, 1st round picks could be very lucrative for the Flames, but IMO they need to fire Feaster if much of anything is to come of it.

I honestly thought there was no way the Pens would get Iginla after picking up both Morrow and Murray...the amazing thing is that all three trades were made without giving up a single roster player, nor really any top prospects.  Joe Morrow while pretty highly regarded had fallen down the prospect list in the eyes of the Pens due to some lackluster attitude and work ethic, he was at best their 5th best d prospect behind Maata, Puilot, Harrington and Dumoulin.

View the sword in your inventory, and there is a button to press to charge the item...I can't recall what it is on PC, perhaps 'F'...This will then let you select a soul gem to use to charge the item back up.

Traffic is so screwed up...I have a single city in a region...no other cities in the region.  I have 14,000 residents, all but one of my roads are parallel medium density avenues, with one medium density road that shoots off perpendicular to the main avenue.  That one single intersection can cause a backup of traffic for hours after work lets out, causing my rescue vehicles to not make it on time.
