Might buy Oblivion for the 360...Played the PC version a bit, but it never ran right enough for me to finish it.

I really need something other than shooters for my 360 though...

I hope this game leans more toward role-playing and story driven action...than squad based shooter-type.

To tell the truth since getting the 360 last week and picking up Gears of War, Ghost Recon, Call of Duty 3, I'm just about ready for a meaty role playing game.(did the Oblivion thing on the PC)...

I've kicked my WoW habit of over 2 years...May Jesus be praised for that...

But I'm having my doubts that the X-box, or that console-gaming in general can ever offer me the hours upon hours of entertainment that a PC online game could...
Remember, this is my first console, and if I'm wrong in my initial let-down then I'll be the first to say it...

So.........Bring on Mass Effect.......I'm already thirsting for a bit more from my console hobby.

Played both....great games.

Bought one two weeks ago made in Nov 06. Not a problem what so ever. But it is a tough call with the supposedly new and improved ones coming out this spring.

I also need to add that this is my first console. Although I've had no technical problems with the "box" I am having another dilemma. I don't find myself drawn to use it as much as I thought or hoped I would. I have Ghost Recon, Gears of War, Call of Duty 3, and rented NFS: Carbon, Tiger Wood 07. Other than the initial wow factor from the graphics of a couple of these titles they just aren't grabbing me.

I love gaming, and when I have time to game but find myself banging around on the PC still instead of enjoying my very expensive new toy, I have to wonder why.

I have the box set up in my bedroom on a dedicated 27 inch HDTV...I'm comfortable and secluded to enjoy the box, but I'm just not enthralled with it.

I think part of the problem is the games I have for it. I'm a MMORPG\RPG lover...Also flight simming is deep in my gaming roots.
From what I can tell shooters seem to be the majority of what most people like about the box.

I hope that eventually I find some titles now or soon to be released that make the purchase of this system\TV\peripherals worth the money.

It's your first console, and you're basing those doubts upon playing FPS games.

There are plenty of games that will suck you in and take over your time.  Just not FPS' imho.  RPGs and Sandbox games are the ones that tend to do it.

My advice is to pick up and play Dead Rising.  That will occupy you for awhile.  I really liked Saint's Row, but ymmv.

On the old Xbox, I sunk more hours into KOTOR and Mercenaries than I choose to recall.

True I based my opinion on FPS games......but they were the ones everyone and their brothers were hollering about so I thought I should go with the most popular first........

I wouldn't call Ace Combat a flight sim.  It's a little bit more complex than something like Crimson Skies.  Lots of fun though.

I dont think there is anything to worry about there....Console's will never have a "Flight Sim" sim....But then again, who knows?

Making an Alt.....So I thought I'd go full on dream......might as well join in the fun...What stats to boost though? Strength and Intelligence? Strength and Dex? What would you suggest?

This game just lends itself to killing multiple mobs at the same time. My Warfare-Defence guy isn't really up to that type of battling...

Think I'd like to try something a bit more AoE'ish..(Area of Effect)

I just hit 20 with my first run through on normal. I picked a Warfare-Defence skill set.
I think I kinda fudged things with my picking of skills, and pumping up health-strength rather than something else. He struggles a bit when there are a mix of normal and yellow mobs attacking.

I got the skill in warfare as soon as I could that summons three ghost buddies...but the cool down timer on that is fairly long so I just end up saving that for  boss fights or what ever.

I guess I'll just try to muscle through with this guy and learn from my mistakes....

Or maybe I wont...I dont owe this guy anything... ......

When I try to sign in for X-box live..(I did the network check and everything is ok) after it tries for about 2 minutes or so I keep getting, "sorry account sign in is unavailable, try again later" message.

Is the sign-in down...or am I missing something?

Well, we came up with another way.............Although the thought of playing games on a 37inch surround sound TV was great...we're gonna just get a new 27inch HDTV for the bedroom...we needed a new one in there anyway.

Ok, got it home. Went to attach the blue, red, and green wire to the TV and noticed that the DVD-Sound system is using that slot. There is no other place to put these cables on the TV?

I got the Viewsonic 37 inch...samsung surround sound.....Looks really nice. I don't have a digital camera or else I'd show it.
