I use the wolf that was given with the Founders Pac. And being a 38 GF, I always see him in the midst of it with me. He's got a great knock down skill that has helped more than once.

I'm still not comfortable with all of the instancing. Puts me off playing sometimes.

Just in case anybody has been under a rock. Brandon Hantz was pretty much the reason they axed the non-jury members showing up for the reunion. Maybe it would have been tried anyway, but they couldn't give that young man any more screen time. He needs real help, not publicity.

I missed the non-jury members less than I thought I was going to.

Yep they nixed it because of Brandon. Did anyone else catch that they didn't give Eric 1 second of talk time in the reunion. He didn't even get to explain his "injury". Weird for a guy that made it to the final 5.

When that episode with Eric gasping for life aired I had a funny feeling about it all. He seemed to be acting to me. As you all know Eric really has some self-esteem issues, always looking to be liked by everyone, and also seeking attention.
I believe once the med staff did a thorough examination they realized the scam.
That's why he sat on the back benches with a gag order on him. What else could it be?

I don't get my wife anything for Mother's day. She returns the favor on Father's Day.

Its Mother's day, not our wedding anniversary. To which we celebrate happily every year(28 years now)

Took Mom to an all you can eat Chinese Food joint. Would you like some chicken with that MSG. sir?

Fun day, Mom was blessed, wife was blessed by the kids............Got home, watched the finale of Survivor.

I started getting into drumming and there is nobody better.  (though Portnoy comes close!)  It still serves as one of my absolute favorite albums of all time.

Great Canadian band. Finally got inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame this year. "Closer to the heart"....And I agree the drummer for Rush is a Maestro at what he does...

Just to add to my comment on drumming. Although there are a few drummers that are at the top of my list, there really is only one. John Bonham. R.I.P. bud.

I liked LoTro when I first played. I left when the first or second expansion was up for sale. I think something else was out around that time.  nod

If I were to pick this game up again, would I have anything other than the original cd to pay for?
Was there any kind of graphical update put out after the CD?

Is the community at a healthy level?

I guess I could retrieve any characters I left behind, considering I've forgotten my account info.

The amount of ways to buy stuff is way over the top. Ahh, I've got 10 Lion Seals, lets go see what I can buy. Hey NPC whatcha got for 10 Lion Seals? Nadda, I only accept Hyena Seals.
Besides my tacky attempt at humour, I'm seriously disappointed in NW. I can't do another Dungeon run with a party; They feel miles away from D&D.
I liked the combat at first, but the shine on that has tarnished now, its too actiony.
Armour from 1-28 has changed very little, at times I can't even see a difference when I up-grade a piece.

It's not what I can put months of play time into. I'll relegate it to; play it for short periods of time. NEVER spend a dime of real money on it. And play it like a solo game.

129  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Neverwinter on: May 04, 2013, 12:38:15 AM
I have a Guardian Fighter up to lv-24. I've been doing the dungeon runs, questing(main story)and foundry missions. After playing a few foundry made missions, It really is hit or miss at this point. But the potential for fun quests is huge. Played yours Tilt, not blowing smoke up.....but you are head and shoulders better than most of the ones I've tried.

But my main beef so far are the dungeon runs. They play out like everyone's on blow and suffer from ADD. Running from mob to mob, room to room, never setting up, never needing me, the tank, to server my purpose. No one talking, no one stopping to pick up a lot of the drops...And it feels like the groups are rushing around seeing who will get tops in the results at the end. I dislike the dungeon play so much I'm done with them till a developer decides to make Dungeons more like D&D, than duke nukem.

The game has potential, but I think I will grow tired of the instancing long before I exhaust all the content.

you can exchange Astral Diamonds that you earn in-game for Zen to buy the keys, haven't tried doing so yet so I'm not sure how well it works.
Like you I received 600k of AD's. I've been doing some "light" digging around on how to exchange AD's for Zen. I'll keep looking.

My lv-18 Guardian Half-Elf is starting to come into his own now. Consistently top the charts on dungeon crawls. I hit my big taunt, and go to town. They really do handle damage like a true tank.

Its growing on me. I just hope that they don't get carried away with the cash items and make the game miserable for the FTP crowd. I'm sure it will depend on how great the response is to Zen items.
132  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Neverwinter on: April 30, 2013, 07:36:34 PM
There is a degree of pay-to-win. I've already accumulated a hockey-sock full of lock box's. Of course you need to spend real money to get the key for them. There is a chance of super rare's being in them. Including weapon; I was in game yesterday and one guy said he's opened over 10 of them so far. Then linked some very nice stuff from them into chat.
Feels like pay to win when I hear that.

When I was in Australia, the Kiwi-Aussie rivalry was always evident.(as long as a kiwi and Aussie were present)
I found it interesting enough to ask both sides about it. Most said its just a long standing "thing" based on their origins and allegiences now.

Like the Aussie's identify more with the States, and N.Z. still honour their English heritage. Aussies haven't much love for "pommies" as they call the English. Can't really blame them, their beginnings was that of a penal colony for the un-wanted in England. Their accent's though are very easy to detect who's who. I found Kiwi to be a softer, less harse accent than the Aussies.
Love em both though. Fine countries.

But coming from England(born in London) even in the city of London there are different accents. Cockney being one. But yeah, I've often pondered that and how it comes to be.

I've been playing the new expansion to ToR. The Rise and Fall of the Hutt Empire...something like that.. icon_lol

Took my limp noodle of a PvP character, 50 commando to Makeb, or is it Makeme?? I dunno.

The planet looks fine, but its a cheesy layout that is trying to make you feel the world is bigger than it is. Chunks of land with a void in between them. Getting around Make-me is a mess if you ask me.
When you take a taxi you get the lift of sequence but then, zap you're at the destination. Again I think this is to keep how small it is from our view.

I really don't get that new-content, lots to do again feeling from it. People blew through the 5 new levels in a couple of days, some less than a day. I know there are always the one's doing the "I finished first" thing, but even a casual player will be capped in no time.

For all the time they put into this expansion it feels more like an update than an ex-pac.
For me the score I would give it  would be a sloppy 3 out of 10. Unless they packed all the fun and exciting stuff into the last level I feel pretty much assured that I've seen what Make-me is all about.

And here's a real kicker of a bug that's cropped up since the update. Going into a WZ I notice a fellow commando @lv 35. I check out his HP and he's at something like 24,000. I looked at mine, and I'm geared really well;
my HP's were 19000. I started a chat about it, and I guess I was the last to get the memo. Everyone is experiencing it. One way to get more HP's is to take of all your armor. I tried it on advice from another player. Looked at my HP's and I was up to about 22,000 hit points.
I would have thought that bug would be priority one for a fix. Its still there today.

I get the feeling this is SW:ToR's swan song. Even with FTP, this game is just marking time. Once people get a taste of what they waited ages for is a yawn fest, all confidence in ToR rising from the ashes like a Phoenix will be hosed.

I'm a pretty simple guy when it comes to in-game things that effect my everyday play time and enjoyment.
I don't always know why but sometimes I just get a ewww feeling about something when I first experience it in game.
Like the AH in D-3. I saw the writing on the wall within the first two days of playing. My simple love of D games is the
combat and loot drops. Nothing much more. The AH did away with getting significant rewards and loot drops. It quickly became
a frustrating game, with not much of anticipatory playing.
If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it.

Like most "firsts" in our life, you never ever really get that feeling again. DAoC was my first. I stumbled upon it and up till then had only used Flight Sims on the PC.
But most certainly I've had some really fun experiences since then in MMO's. I remember when we started using, MMO instead of MMORPG. I think that says alot to the decline of the genre for me.
It became a generic formula. If you have A,B, and C in the game it will be succesful. No need for creative thinking in the sense of innovative, new ideas. Just go with the tried and true.
I do agree we're at the end of an era of subscription based MMO's. I don't know if I like this more or less than the 15 bucks a month model.

What I do know is I don't spend hours online searching out every little bit of info I can find about every MMO out there.
But boy would I be there with bells on if some talented developer's got together and made a MMO out of love, rather than for gold. Indie games at its best.

So, I'll just drive my Volvo across Italy(if they can make a fun trucking game, why not a MMO), remembering a time when MMORPG's were king of the road.

You do realize some of you sound so hypocritical I'm amazed you can't see it yourselves. You can get all bent out of shape because of my beliefs. But If I so much as show any emotion negatively to your beliefs I'm put in a box with all other "christian crazies". I could care less if you think I'm following antiquated beliefs or not. I have as much right to say its not my belief that same sex should marry, as you do. Why then is my belief any less valid than yours?
Of course, if you're a hypocrite I can see how you would answer that.

I didn't start this thread. I was asked my opinion. I didn't see anywhere in Ritt's post that said, all Christians, especially you Arclight, are not to give you opions. Only those who are politically correct may answer. I think Ritt is less put out about my answer than some of you who think his life style needs defending.

To some of you, its time to let go of your hate of all things Christian. Its not good to carry hate for ANYTHING. Have any of you over the many years you have "known" me. I was at Gone Gold for years as Gollum.(why i picked that nik ill never know) have heard me ranting on my fellow posters about their religious beliefs? How many have heard me putting down Gay's in any capacity? How many threads have I started or entered thumping my bible at you guys? None. Not one time will you find that I did.

I am so comfortable in where I am right now. I'm not bent out of shape over any of the issues of the day. But if asked, I will give an opinion.

I can see now that I've put myself out there in two threads, and although I never did crack the inner crowd in this forum or Gone Gold. I will be even less taken seriously now.
And that's the risk you take, being honest.

You can keep the Covenant as the bailiwick of the church.  Unfortunately, there are many social and political rights that are bound up in, what to government, should be only a binding contract that contains rights and responsibilities.  There shouldn't be a limit as to the gender of two parties entering into that contract any more than there should be a limit on the ethnicity of said parties.

I believe in the tri-part being. Spirit, Soul, and body. I also believe that without feeding anyone one of these,  you will be un-balanced and off kilter in life.
Spritual things are discerned spiritually. Spiritual thinking of any kind is a step of faith. Faith, which the Bible describes as, "The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen".
You cannot mentally(soul) ascend to spiritual realms. You have to put the need for everything to measure up mathmatically, and take that small, step of faith.
In the natural all day long we use a form of faith. I step on an elevator on the 54 floor, I don't give it a second thought about it maybe free falling to the bottom..
Personally I put this in the "trust" realm but the idea of faith is there. You can't prove the elevator isn't going to free fall this time. You just believe this isn't the day it will.
Trust? Faith? Denial?
Everything in life can't be explained completely and put into nice little envelopes of "understanding".
If you don't believe there is a Mt. Everest because you've never seen it, a person who has seen can say catagorically, you're wrong.

If you've never given your spirit man a chance. If you live in a prove it or its not happening stance, you can never understand spirituality or faith.

Faith isn't a religion. Faith isn't laws, do's and don'ts...

This is what Jesus said is all that's needed is to believe that He is who He say's He is. And let go of your pre-conceived ideas, and in all earnest let God show You just what Faith, Love, and Hope is all about.

I personally don't believe a Christian's call should be about convincing people that they should turn and give their lives to Him. But more of showing them the love of God and His totall acceptance of them just as they are, because of His son's sacrifice on the cross. By the way, the Romans/Jews didn't take Jesus's life, He layed it down, willingly.
Which makes it all the more poignant and breathtaking. No greater love has a man than this, that he is willing to lay down his life for a friend.

Jesus is my friend. He's my saviour, He's my all in all. No I don't sit in a sparsely furnished barn quoting scripture to myself all day, not wanting anything to do with the World. Exaclty the opposite. What kind of person who believes what I believe would keep it from those around him.
Rambling, and enthusiastically talking of Jesus might put some off, but how do you not get excited and a bit giddy when you believe the words of God are real.

One thing we all know. That in around 80 years from now, not one of you reading this will be unsure any longer. Think of this as well. That in 120years at the very most, not one person on this Earth now, will be alive. That's over 6 billion people finding out the truth for sure in such a relatively short time in history. Boggles my mind.
