Here's info from official site on all the digital retailers participating (Steam, Amazon, Gamestop Impulse and Gamefly), and official PC specs: http://www.xcom.com/enemyunknown/article/xcom-enemy-unknown-digital-pre-orders-and-system-requirementsAlong with this announcement comes the finalization of the PC system requirements. A lot of our fans have been asking what these are so they can figure out if they need to upgrade before release day. Well wonder no longer for here they are:
Minimum Requirements: OS: Windows Vista Software: Steam Client Processor: 2 GHz Dual Core Memory: 2 GB RAM Hard Drive: 20 GB free Video Memory: 256 MB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT / ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT or greater Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
Recommended Requirements: OS: Windows 7 Processor: 2 GHz Dual Core (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Athlon X2 2.7 GHz) Memory: 4 GB RAM Hard Drive: 20 GB free Video Memory: 512+ MB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9000 series / ATI Radeon HD 3000 series or greater Sound Card: DirectX Compatible So do you need Steam installed regardless of where you get the game from. Well thats me out, I got a good 6 months before I can upgrade, if I do at all Got to the point where I use my PC for my flight sim but other games I have my new IPad for, I am on the move all the time lately so I just use it for a casual relaxing game.

as it's his studio i hope he does get involved in it. maybe not to the extent that x-com becomes too much like civilization, but it certainly couldn't hurt.
now all we need is a true sequel to alpha centauri and most tbs fans can die happy this year.
A true Alpha Centauri sequel would be so awesome,

It was only today that I read about the announcement and details from last week.
An Auction House that functions on actual money (and therefore, will only make the gold farming worse)? No single player? (And yes, if I have to hook up to your server to play, that's no single player.
This just went from my most expected sequel ever to...'Why, GodAllahBuddhaCthulu, Why?'
Fuck Blizzard.
Huh? I think the real money AH is a bad idea, and I'm annoyed by the always-online requirement. I also expect I'll be playing the game solo most of the time. So... I'll use the fake money AH and avoid the real money one, and I will play in solo instances of the game. Playing this way, I will never encounter any gold-farmed items, nor will I interact with anyone superpower equipped with money-bought items. So I mean, I'm not in favor of these design decisions, but other than being tethered to an internet connection, they aren't going to affect me in any way. As I play single player, that is. This is pretty much me, I am not even sure I have the click click click patience anymore. At the moment I am in my flight sim cycle so it is only with casual interest I read this stuff. Dunno ... just dunno at this point

Thanks for the tip on GoG Turtle
cheeba you are probly correct there, thats the problem when you have pollies that don't comprehend that life as they know it has changed and is still changing at a ever increasing rapid rate.
It's like having that conversation where someone will say kids these days don't talk to each other all they do is text, well guess what.. they are talking in their way, your way is gone and in 5yrs it will be some other way,

I have become somewhat soured on steam since learning about the 2 tier charging system, us aussies get to pay a huge amount more on any of the newer games. Steam sales are still a good thing but I will always buy newer AAA titles somewhare else from now on.

I play a Infiltrator as I love Sniping so for me the loadout is always
Mantis until Widow comes Hand Cannon Missile Launcher Machine Pistols I hate so don't care
I kill most things with the widow headshotting under cloak, love the slowdown using the scope

Great stuff, this still remains my single most anticipated game. My main ME + ME2 playthrough that I will carry through to ME3 should be interesting to see how my various choices effect the gameplay of it, I am in the middle of another one as a different class that had different choices so it will be good to see how they both play out.

About three quarters the way through and I've come to realise that I like ME2 alot more for what ever reason as it is now a chore that I am unsure of how much more I will put up with before giving up.

When I fired up my computer this morning steam informed that it finished downloading Crysis 2.
Well considering I been playing it on and off all week I think it may have been patched cause it was finished downloading at release day.

I think I figured out the lost nano catalyst bug btw, though I haven't been able to test it. When you quit the game, your nano catalyst count isn't reset to 0. It's set to the sum you had... negative. So when I quit (crashed actually, though it was my computer overheating, not the game) with 10 000 catalysts, the game probably thought I had -10 000 when I started up again. I saw this most clearly in action when I quit with 80, started up with 0 (or so the interface said), and after picking up 200 catalysts had a grand total of 120.
If none of you others are seeing this bug, it might be that it's caused by some regional setting that Crytek failed to test for. Just speculation, but I've seen worse things happen from that kind of stuff.
Had this happen last night. Had about 600 nanos when my pc crashed. When I came back in I was at zero and it took alot of kills before I started getting them back past 0.

OK I realy need to stop my self from looking at stuff in steam when I've been drinking.
Bought this .. the only problem with that is that I run XP and like a dumbass I didn't check the system specs for it, saw that it looked like fun and got it.
Sheesh

My credit card got hacked a while back luckily the bank chopped it the moment it showed a british person trying to make a transaction at 4am my time. If that happens and I have a transaction in progress I could lose the lot??? You don't lose anything, your account just gets locked until the dispute is solved. I understand this is so Valve can protect itself against fraud and so that they can stay on good terms with publishers. Imagine if they didn't react hard in such cases. People would abuse it to play games for free. Not that this explains faide's problem right now. Yeah. that makes sense Faide's problem threw me for a bit, hope it sorts it's self out

Wow that is very serious and worrying.. so I could lose all of my games if I get a dispute on a payment.

Seems that the steam specials are way cheaper but some of the normal pricing on steam is more expensive than the 1 online shop I use that seems to give reasonable pricing but it takes a full week to get it if you buy off of them.

I've bought this on steam but it just shows the name in my libary. Do you get informed if`you will be able to download it so it unlocks at sale day.
I presume I also get nothing for preordering a digital version and not the dvd.
