One of the worst commercials ever.

I would disagree with that statement. Enzyte would be my pick. They were sort of funny with their double meaning words and that odd 1960s backdrop but that stops quickly after the 1000th time.

I loved that toon...I remember the head gargoyle guy was the voice of another of my favorite toons but right now I cant remember who it was..I can still hear the voice in my head though.

It looks like the only main character he did was Spawn. Did some voices for Justice League and Teen Titons. For a man who I only know by his voice he sure did more acting, than voice, roles.

Pretty big fan following is putting it lightly. I think The Gathering (Sort of a convention by the fans) is on it's 7th year now. Greg Weisman is still active with the community which you can't say about a lot of shows. It's one of the few shows, for me, where I didn't need the rose colored glasses because it was still good after all these years.
I suppose I would agree with Autistic Angel in that it is a teenager+ show but I wouldn't place it in the same league as Invader Zim as far as the violence is concerned. I can't really recall any deaths, though I'm sure there were a few as was the case with the entire Batman series (Animated Series, New Adventures, and Beyond). To which it shares sort of the same feeling as those shows.

And besides it's got Marina Sirtis, Jonathan Frakes, Keith David, and Bill Fagerbakke. You have to watch it for those people alone.

I know that you have to connect the first time for it to match your copy and SN with your user name, after that you can set it to offline. It may periodically ask to connect to check for updates and maybe make sure you are still using the same copy (You could technically have multiple people using your username until one of them connects at the same time as you). But as far as needing to be connected the entire time, no it does not have to be.

It's coming in May.

And I would like to see Disney and Nickelodeon get into the DVD game more. Waiting for shows like Talespin. Thankfully Nick is going to start releasing Pete & Pete soon.

This city sure has become a gathering point for wackjobs lately. First we have this guy, then the one that came down from Washington killing a cop and tow truck driver on the way, a suicide at my works' parking lot, and a guy who raped and killed a couple of nuns.

It sure is great to live in this city.

I can very much understand. Given the two choices I would go with the box almost every time. Not for the trade in possibility but just because I collect them for whatever reason (I keep mulling over the idea of layering a wall with my favorites). I can also certainly understand your frustration, especially when the freaken thing was supposed to be free, with even getting the box to you. You've fought this much longer than I would've. At some point I would have just thrown up my arms in disgust and downloaded the damn thing, making sure to back it up before doing anything else. That kind of frustration just adds me to the legions of people that just don't bother buying a product just because it comes with some sort of rebate.

I also hope you aren't expecting anything significant as far as the box goes. You get, now follow me here because it's a lot of stuff, five CDs and a quick reference card. That's it unless you count the box art that has one of the three characters on it. All in all it's a waste of resources for a whole bunch of nothing.

Which can be said of any game though, from that point of view.  Now if I want to trade later, could I trade the steam version?  I'd rather get a tangible item to store on my shelf, or trade later.

Yes you could, as I've done it. I ended up giving the guy my username and password which let him download the game before he received the box. And the only real reason I bought the box version was because I got it for cheaper than through Steam.

Unless something is new it was never stated that Loki has any logs to go through, merely that he was ordered to hand them over. Then there are the people that claim that the site took the 40+k to pay off the MPAA.

Going through the website it looks like your beef should be with ATI not Valve. Unless you are blaming Valve for making you get the physical CD from ATI because of your hatred of Steam. And even if Ati aren't the ones physically sending you the cds wouldn't it be Vivendi that deals with the boxed product?

I work at Fred Meyer as a price changer. Every Sunday when a new Ad comes out I have about 1000 new price tags that need to be placed. It's a fun activity made even better by the fact that since there is no crowd sound at midnight you can hear the same songs being played night after night in perfect clarity.
582  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Need music recommendations on: January 25, 2005, 07:13:59 PM
Every Sunday, at work, I walk back and forth for about 8 hours and the music helps to keep me going at a set pace. So essentially what I want is something with a fast beat. Was just hoping that there were other bands with a sound similar to Aqua.

Should also note that though Techo, House, whatever, fits the fast beat criteria it tends to blend into itself which isn't what I want.

I would probably pick it up. Just remember even though it looks like a FPS doesn't mean that it is one. Think of it as a shooter (Gradius etc.), and if you like those then this one will be just fine.

I actually liked the fact that Art never tried (At least when I listened) to refute anyones claims. He would question to get a more complete picture and perhaps reveal the person was full of it. But in general he let the listener decide which in this day and age is refreshing. I'm sure after each show bulletin boards or forums (Whichever were more widespread for the time) would be wild claims for this way or that.
593  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Any Art Bell fans? Remember Mel's Hole? (SFW ;)) on: January 15, 2005, 05:57:33 AM
Well, I just went back over the two albums that I have of theirs and I guess it was from Lateralus. Title was Faaip de Oiad. Apparently the caller later admitted it was a hoax, though it was strange that the satellite went out during the broadcast.

The song I originally thought about was Cearo Summability which is your California breaking into the sea thing.

I still wouldn't mind hearing the full broadcast without all the synth.

I'd be curious if there was anymore correspondence from the freaked out guy that was featured on Tools' album Aenima.

I used to listed to Mr Bell often until he left the first time, then it was hit or miss. Now I can't since I'm working then.

I would think the value of an item depends on the availability of it. If I can order it online, two or three years later, with little to no searching, then no the value is not high. But if that item is very rare then the value raises. Cases in point would be Alpha Centarii (Before re-release), Kilrathi Saga, Symphony of Night. Movies could also fit into this catagory if they had a limited release before the standard.

I've always seen the Collectors Edition to be more for the viewers benefit than their wallets. It's more of a we'll give you everything we have on this movie/game/whatever so you can know more about the mythos behind it.
