It certainly depends on where you live. If there a decent amount of compitition then the prices will be lower in some stores. Around here though you would be lucky to break the 17 dollar price point.

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / There's a part of me that wants to see what happens

A few days ago my microwave decided to kill everyone. Basically what happens when I start it is that after a couple seconds it is filled with a orange light and makes sounds like it has foil in it.
Common sense tells me that I should just toss it and forget all about it, and yet there's a part of me that wants to put it in the middle of the yard and see what happens after a couple minutes. Maybe I can become a super-hero if I stand in front of it.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / HL2 Level Help Thread

It really isn't like the first game where you turn a corner and there he is. This time around he is much more content to pull the strings from a distance. Which probably has to do with the fact that he sent you there, and has a vested interest, versus just watching what you were doing. I only saw him once (Red Barn) and didn't realize that until I went here. Minor to Major Spoilers. If you stick with just the pictures on the top you should be fine.

Wonder if those guys did the Scion commercial as well.
I kept thinking that I'm watching some sort of live action Prince of Persia.

Thankfully, for my wallet, I've been able to curb my DVD purchases to a trickle. Just Gargoyles Season 1 this week. Only other sets I'm probably going to be buying next is LOTR and the Invader Zim house set.

I've always wondered why they change the name of the company wether you are on the east or west coast. East has Hellmans and Hardees, West has Best Foods and Carl's Jr.
Did Kontraband basically take over for the other commercial site (Can't remember the name right now) that went down a couple years ago?

I don't know about anyone else here but all I wanted was the same game with a different story. Maybe add a few new moves but leave the rest alone. But no, they had to screw with a good thing. Hope KOTOR2 doesn't end up this way.
Oh well, there's 50 I don't have to spend.

Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Unscrewed cancelled, TSS "morphing".

I think the reason Adam had to speak so fast was because Alex kept interupting him. He would start to bring something up and Alex would take him down a different road.
While I can't say that I will stop watching G4, I'm pretty sure that whatever TSS becomes, my day will not be planned around it like it was. Like most people I hated Alex but after a while you started to understand his humor, which was the biggest part he brought to the table, and eventually accepted him as a co-host. Did I like every new show? No, I didn't, but they still showed some interesting segments.
G4/Comcast are losing a lot of good people and I hope they realize the mistake they made before more people are given a 4 hour notice.

Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Which hard drive to buy
|
on: November 09, 2004, 01:09:55 AM

I'm looking to replace a hard drive and add an external storage (Grabbing an external case - firewire) as well. Right now I'm looking at two Seagate 200GB drives but I figured I'd run it by you guys as well.
Having been out of the loop concerning hard drives for a while now, is Seagate a good brand or should I look into something else?

Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Hard drive recovery
|
on: November 05, 2004, 09:00:14 PM

|
After reformating and installing XP again my secondary drive (IBM Deskstar - Before all the problem they had) isn't being recognized. I've run EasyRecovery but the files it lists do not include everything on the drive. Not to mention losing the file names. I'm thinking the MBR or a TOC somehow was corrupted. Is there any way I can restore the drive temporarily so I can transfer everything off it and replace it with a new drive?

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Nintendo DS Commercial...

While I didn't like the commercial so much, I think it did what was intended. That being make people watch to see what the hell they were talking about. While you would have to have your head in a hole to not know what the DS is, there probably are people out there that don't and now they are curious.

I posted a while back that I would give SS a month. Well, I can say for right now I'm sticking around. I've gotten used to Alex for the most part, which was my main contention.
Right now I'm hoping there will be more live calls (They do 2 if we are lucky) and less crap (TV dinners I'm looking at you).
I would say the one thing I miss the most was the tech news at the beginning. In the old days they talk about 2-3 stories at the start of each show, and while they sort of talk about new things I'm thinking they don't do this anymore because neither really have enough "water under the bridge" to talk at length about something.
To other programing Judgement Day is a nice counter balance to X-Play. Simply for the fact that you have two people giving more pros and cons with a bit less we can be hip that XPlay tries to do. As far as Tommy Tallarico is concerned the fact that he was involved with a lot of the music from the older console days means he gets my respect.
Oh and since this is turning into a rambling if anyone is turning away from G4TechTv because of the whole SS deal give Icons a shot. It has a nice History channel feel to it only it talks about the gaming industry.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Leisure Suit Larry 8 Help!

I cannot figure out how the heck to sell photos. I walk up to the people that have the Film icon and all I can do is have them evaluate the photos but not buy them. The manual isn't any help as it says I first zoom the picture and then press Enter. Doing that does nothing. The only walkthrough I've seen doesn't offer any help either.
And what's the deal with these timing games? I know I've pressed the button at the right time, but oh no not according to the game.
