On SNL Weekend Update last week they had a story about a couple of guys who robbed a beer truck and got away with $24,000 worth of Miller Lite. Seth Meyers: "$24,000 worth of Miller beer. What, did they steal ALL of it?"

As a cheap domestic beer hater, I laughed out loud.

That's funny, because both Killian's and Blue Moon are from Coors.

How do you both put each other ahead of the other? Seems like someone would have to give.

Don't give up on it. The tech test today was in *much* worse shape than the general beta. It's really not a good barometer of the game's current state in the slightest.

I participated in both the tech test and the general beta this afternoon, and the difference between the two was night and day.

Come on, Yellowking, you should know his MO by now.

Way to go! I'm still plugging along, nearly to 40 with my pre-launch character. Unlike a lot of other games, I'm in no rush to cap.

If a 3rd party released a 360 controller (with a functional d-pad) that was PS3 compatible my journey toward the SDF side would be complete.  I just can't stand the triggers on the sixaxis.

Man, I hear you. I've only had my PS3 a few days and already can't stand the controller. My hands aren't abnormally large, but they sure get scrunched up trying to hold the 6A. Holding the trigger down for any length of time (Motorstorm) gets uncomfortable quickly. I'm thinking about getting one of these-

There is only one way to make coffee:

Use 7 grams (by weight, buy a scale!) per 6-8 oz water (195-203 degrees Fahrenheit) in all brewing methods.  It's an exact science...

Apparently not...   icon_wink

650  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / WoW Auction/Unique Ring Help on: May 22, 2005, 05:04:16 PM
Sad to say, I think it's worse come to worse. If the ring actually says unique, I don't think you can retrieve it. Too bad you can't send it to someone else. I'd guess that the 2 swords don't say unique.

i dl'ed the game via the game key from them.  With my cable connection took like 30 minutes or so, nothing major.  As far as torrent for the retail, no idea.

So I'm guessing you didn't actually download the game in 30 min, seeing as it weighed in at 1.8 gigs, and wasn't available until Friday morning.

Semaj, I'm on Linenoise, character name is Genesee.

653  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Matrix, Friends and Family Event. on: May 18, 2005, 03:39:15 PM
Hmm.. I downloaded the installer and ran that. When the login comes up, it says my account is disabled, even though it says active on the web site.

Thanks to gangeli for a key.

The trial is for 05/20-05/28. Does anyone know if we can download the game before it starts? Or, does anyone know where a torrent for the retail game is?

658  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / X2: The Threat on: March 01, 2005, 04:50:16 AM
What's keeping Edge of Chaos off your list, Rage? I think the flight and combat model is as satisfying as FS2, but the much more open-ended gameplay puts it at the top for me.

Tachyon: The Fringe is a very enjoyable stick game, as well, and has the added bonus of being voiced by Bruce Campbell.

663  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / WoW: The Death Penalty on: January 03, 2005, 02:54:01 AM
You only take a durability hit if you choose to res. There is no penalty if you run back to your corpse. Another drawback to death is you lose any buff you may have had from a spell, or a nice potion.

That site looks good, CGBP. I did find it on thottbot after some more clicking. Wasn't going far enough I guess.

665  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / WoW binder style guide on: December 29, 2004, 12:46:06 AM
Whenever I consult thottbot, I'm usually pretty stuck, and it just doesn't provide the deatil I need, so it really hasn't been that helpful. I'm sure a print guide wouldn't be either, though.

For instance, I'm doing the Betrayal from Within quest, and I've found two creatures, but can't find the last. I wasn't able to find the location on thottbot. Maybe I'm just not using it correctly.

666  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / How much time do you solo vs. group in WoW? on: December 29, 2004, 12:42:08 AM
Quote from: "Sharpshooter"
Usually when I play, I'm grouped with a buddy that I first met in Ultima Online way back in 98.   The way I look at it, if I wanted to play solo, there are plenty of good CRPGs out there.

But none of those CRPG's have a dynamic economy, or a world populated with living people.

I solo about 95%, but enjoy interacting with people, and grouping when the situation calls for it.
