Turtle, hope you have some handhelds or something to play while in the hospital.  I can tell you that even as a fit person, I have some regrets as well.  I run and exercise now, but back in the early 2000s, I had gotten up to 325 pounds.  Finally decided to take control of my life and lost weight all the way down to 190.  The problem there is extra skin.  So, I was fit, but wearing a shirt that was a little snug meant you could see all that extra skin.  So, even though I got fit, I still had to live with the product of being that large.  Then, I gained most of the weight back through the late 2000s as I let my work get the best of me.  Got back up to 290.  Then, I said enough is enough and lost it all again.  And that is where I stand.  Obviously still have the skin problem and I'm not the type of person to go get surgeries just for cosmetic things (and hopefully never have a surgery, period).

Anyway, if pills is the worst you have to do (and no matter what, it seems like the price of living into your 70s and beyond is to be on some kind of medication), I think you'll be okay.  Hopefully, when you get out of the hospital, you can turn that regret into something positive and get out there and live that healthy lifestyle you would like to.

This may be a stupid question...but won't the skin eventually...shrink on it's own? Like a pregnant woman's belly?

4 Months after launch and a deal like this is soon, but it doesn't bother me. I did get the day one achievement afterall.  Tongue Roll Eyes icon_cool

And I agree with Pug. If it builds the fanbase of the system, it's good for everyone involved.

I've alway said the XB1 is a system about potential that this point. If it sells well then there's a better chance that that potential will be reached.

Fired up my DS for the first time in a long while and I'm pretty  much convinced that this is the greatest gaming form factor of all time. I am not sure how, but the battery was still holding a charge and the thing fired up immediately. (My PSP is dead as Fred and I can't find the power cord...can't charge USB without it having some life in it. Thing never held a charge long...)

I've been playing through Panzer Tactics and the screens are still still bright and clear and I'm very much enjoying this reunion.

I have so many games that I never finished (though I got close to the end on all of them): Panzer Tactics, The Zelda game that I can't remember the name of, Fire Emblem (GBA), Advance Wars II, etc...

Remains to be seen if I can fit back into the portable gaming demo again. Wish it had bluetooth slywink

Yes, one for all kills and one for pilot-only kills.

Pistol and DMR are for all as part of player appreciation month, iirc.

I'm not going to get them. I'd rather unlock them (or not) on my own.  Ditto grenades.

I would love this game and all the other "battlefield" type games out there. But for one reason, and one reason only.

I am terrible in online play. Not even close enough to just muddle through and be average and have fun.
I am fodder for the cannon unfortunately. I miss out on a lot of really good games because of it.

I watched the video that was posted a few posts up. Are you kidding me? That guy has a digital helicopter grafted onto his arm.
What a formidable force he would be to go up against.

Anyway, for those guys who can hold their own in this game....Rock on!!! It looks like so much fun.

BF4 has SO much going on and there are SO many ways to die it's nearly impossible to be frustrated when you do.

Since there are so many modes that aren't specifically kill based, being bad at 'FPS' does not prevent you from contributing or having fun.

The game is just amazing.

Titan kills should be counted on Hardpoint.  Seems to be a glaring oversight to me

I may have missed it but it also doesn't track point captures either.  It just shows 'offense' and 'defense'.

Anyone know if other maps will have more than 3 points?

Played hardpoint last night for about 90 mins and yes it totally changed my opinion of the game.

Had a great time as both a pilot and a titan (i may actually like being a pilot more than being in a titan) and totally see how this game is going to be smash hit.

That said....I'm not sure I'm up for another round of leveling up/unlocking/perks hamster wheel.   Still have the game pre-ordered, but I'm not sure i'll get it.

Not because of the game itself, but just because of where I am as a gamer (though I do know myself well enough to know that I'm also pretty fickle in this regard) smile

AC/DC is likely going to start recording a new album in May and will likely do a 40 city tour to celebrate 40 years as a band.  I haven't bought an AC/DC album since Razor's Edge in 1990...but I haven't ever seen them live.  I will have to find a way to see them if this tour comes together.

Saw DIO On tour with the scorpions and deep purple a few years back..not long after that he got cancer and sadly died from it.  It wasn't him in his prime, but at least I can say I saw him.

Heard a lot of buzz on eneloops and have given them a shot for my XB1 controllers as it seems to eat batteries faster than the 360 controller did.

So far so good.

That's got me thinking of maybe going all eneloops all the time.

Anyone using solely rechargeable batteries?

Any draw backs?

Are there any common devices (smoke detectors, flashlights, etc) that shouldn't use rechargeables?
115  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/360/XB1]Respawn's Titanfall on: February 17, 2014, 01:19:25 AM
Still SUPER early, but after about two matches, I'm not seeing the appeal.

Titans just feel like an underpowered bullseye for everyone to concentrate fire on and the fact that you get them every two minutes kind of minimizes the 'specialness' of it.

How do you get a pilot who is rodeo damaging you off?

There's a new trailer out.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_HEeHUmzjI&oref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DL_HEeHUmzjI&has_verified=1

Some of it seems decent, but other things make me scoff or laugh. Mostly its the violence approach I guess. One of the things that was unique to thief was the horror of being discovered. If the guards found you, you had to be lucky to escape with your life. Here, you can just kill everyone and be done with it it seems. That takes away a great deal of the tension. Imagine Cradle level where you could just slaugther everything - fun? Not really.

That's the trailer that Ron posted yesterday.

Its new to this page of the thread though.

No, it's not.

Like many, I've been nervous about this new Thief.  At first because it was going to be some futuristic thing, then because it was supposedly more action-oriented and most recently because of reports that it was all small spaces with little choice about where to go or what to do.

I have to say that trailer would only feel more like Thief if someone called Garrett a taffer.  That doesn't mean it'll be good, of course, but I'm certainly more interested.  That said, I do hope they maintain the rich world with its steampunky feel and the various factions (Order of the Hammer and whatnot), even if it's evolved in time slightly.

I'm a Thief purist.  I'll be making sure this game is "Thiefy" enough before you have to put down your cash.

I wonder how many reviewers will savage this game because it's not "Thief-y enough" as compared to the previous entries in the series?    Even if it's a solid game in its own right (which remains to be seen), I suspect there are lots of folks who will be judging it against the other titles instead of reviewing this game on its own merit.  Can't imagine it'll fare well through that lens.
Hmm.

I suspect I'll have to get it sight unseen then so as not to let that impact my play experience.
