I posted this on OO but I guess I should have posted it here as well.

It's called Shooters Grill and it is located in Rifle, Colo., so naturally, the waitresses pack heat.

The burger joint, about 180 miles west of Denver, embraces the firearms theme with menu items like the "M16 burrito," "Smith & Wesson Grilled Cheese" and "Locked and Loaded Nachos." The salt and pepper shakers are made from shotgun shells. But the biggest Second Amendment statement is in the guns waitresses carry, including the Rueger Blackhawk .357 Ashlee Saenz sports.

Quote
Owner Lauren Boebert, 27, started the trend when she began carrying a pistol shortly after opening the restaurant a year ago.

"I started open-carrying maybe a month after we opened just because I am a woman in business and I was there early hours and late nights," Boebert said. "There was a man beaten to death in the alley behind my restaurant last year. It was very unfortunate."

 High five!

Big difference when it's the establishment doing it rather than the patrons doing it in a place where the establishment has requested people not to.

Either way, walking around a target, wendy's, gas station, whatever visibly armed just to do it has nothing to do with the right to bear arms.  It's just morons trying to show how 'counter culture' they are. That's right. They're the nouveau hipster.

Seriously, Hep, the only thing I'm angling for is consistency.

My conservative friends go buck on Obama left and right for doing the same things bush did and my lib friends give him a pass for doing the same things bush did.

If something should cause outrage with a repub in office, it should cause outrage when a dem is in the office.  That's all man.  THAT'S ALL!

Of course maybe the lack of threads in R&P is due to the drop in participants in the forum and not just having a dem in the WH.

I'm not sure if there is a rolleyes big enough for this question.

Admittedly, I have moved more to an isolationist view since Gulf War 2 and the absolute waste of men and materiel that was Iraq and was (is) Afghanistan. I have also moved away from the blind patriotism that I used to have as I've read more about how the US has directly set the table for the mess we're in now and how the government (all three branches) moves more and more into the pocket of the corporations AND abuses (or perhaps ignores is the better word choice) the soldiers who protect our country once they get home (VA).  I also believe that there is a military industrial complex that continually stands to benefit from war/arming our future enemies...

In fact, I've moved so far to the left on the use of America's army as a global police force I wonder how I ever thought the other way.  This should be something that makes you happy, no? Or because it's a Dem in the whitehouse it's okay to warmonger?

America (and almost every large nation) has provided support via weapons to countries they later end up fighting.  The problem is that sometimes you have to support the lesser evil to combat the much greater one.   We were buddies with Saddam during the Iran-Iraq war.  Then we weren't a few years later.

But not doing so can result in consequences far worse than looking hypocritical.

Diplomacy is a game that often just comes down to staying alive, not winning.

How does helping in syria keep us alive?

GZ is worth a play through so you can get used to the sneaking mechanics, especially if you are attuned with how MGS 3 played.

Supremes strike down abortion buffer zone.

Not sure I get this.

Roberts opinion on this reads like an 8th grade civics essay "Petitioners wish to converse with their fellow citizens about an important subject on the public streets and sidewalks -- sites that have hosted discussions about the issues of the day throughout history,"

I'm about as anti-abortion as one can be, but 35 feet doesn't seem unreasonable or a violation the people's right to gather...?

Same thing I posted in the link Ken linked to:

Finally read the gobble gobble thread and I think the issues are

Quote
1. No one responded in the thread.  It's frustrating when a thread one starts is a dud. Happens to everyone. Nothing personal. Especially on weekends.
2. Bitterness at no responses vented in a pretty jerky way.  I'm all up in these threads and I'm definitely not a part of any clique, though I do get why this place (all forums) at times feels cliquish.
3. On GT you make your presence known as much or as little as you want. I've had feuds on here that made me want to walk away forever.  But this really is the best forum on the net.
4. Sense of entitlement for having been around a long time. Sorry if you're feelings were hurt, but don't be petty. This is the best forum on the net (though it TOTALLY could use some more traffic and new blood) and it gives and takes away to all members regardless of seniority...

And yeah. Bad form. Hope MO is ok.

Sure, that's understandable. Also, on the Republican side, there have been a lot of repeated names over the last 62 years. In fact, since 1952, the Republicans haven't won a single election for President without Richard Nixon or a George Bush on the ticket. They also ran only one ticket between 1952 and 2004 without a Nixon, Bush or Dole on the ticket:

1952: Eisenhower / Nixon - won
1956: Eisenhower / Nixon - won
1960: Nixon / Lodge - lost
1964: Goldwater / Miller - lost
1968: Nixon / Agnew - won
1972: Nixon / Agnew - won
1976: Ford / Dole - lost
1980: Reagan / Bush - won
1984: Reagan / Bush - won
1988: Bush / Quayle - won
1992: Bush / Quayle - lost
1996: Dole / Kemp - lost
2000: Bush / Cheney - sorta won
2004: Bush / Cheney - won

Wow.  I'd never noticed what a dynasty the Bush family. Thanks for posting.
