What don't you like about the weapons?  Do they feel too weak or inaccurate?

I have very little experience in any of the CoD games, so I have no reference for how they change from one version to the next.

-Autistic Angel

It's more of the 'none of them feel right for me.'  Every COD heretofore I've found 'my gun' and that's the one I stick with for most of the rest of the gameplay. I then experiment after prestiging but usually settle back in on that same gun...and it's always an AR.

So far, none of the guns feels that way to me.  They're all interchangeable blech rather than 'this is the one.'

Well...I am one to admit when I'm wrong.  I'm starting to think getting this game may have been a mistake.  First rage quit tonight...the weapons suck. The killstreak suck. The lag sucks. I suck.  Number of rage quits in 6 days of COD?  1.  # for 2 months plus of destiny?  0.  # for 9 months of BF4?  0.

Frustrated.  I feel like I did for mw3..or whichever one was just before blops 2. I played it for 2 nights and then left cod for two years.  Blerg

ATB!  yeah, next time I am on and i see you pop up, I'll throw you an invite!  A warning though... this talk of 2.0 KD ratio is well beyond my skill level biggrin

Just like whenever the GT crews used to get together, we never got angry over people playing as well as they possibly could and not living up to some preconceived standard.

As I already said, I'm struggling mightily with this game so far. If we can call enemies out for each other and lament at how bad we are that's all that matters. slywink

This is actually the first Call of Duty game that I can say I am enjoying.  Most years that I have bothered trying it out, I lose interest/get frustrated after a day or two tops.  hearing about the new mobility options (which I enjoyed in Destiny) got me to pick it up again this year and I am absolutely loving it.  I'm definitely not a very good player, but the gun-play and movement is fun enough that I don't really care.

Cov!

We should party up some time.  Not many GTers in the mix on this one it seems.

So, last evening, I came to the conclusion I was playing contrary to my style...silenced weapons, burst weapons, trying to do things that I don't usually do and was just getting absolutely frustrated...  Soooo

I cleaned out all of my streaks and started over. Back to basics.  Base ak47 red dot, unsilenced. Immediately started hitting 2.0s consistently.  Well see if it keeps up, but I feel like I'm finding my groove..

And they choked it.  Season's over.

I see people on my friends list playing multiplayer all the time -- are you guys really not experiencing controller-throwing rage amounts of lag?  Every time I try to play I get at best a couple minutes of play before some frustrating lag encounter.

I don't put much stock in the signal strength icons if that's what you're going by. I've encountered some lag, but nothing that makes me crazy.

However, I do get frustrated more with COD than any other game if I'm not doing well. That said, I'm okay with settling in at 1.2 to 1.5 for this game.  I'm having fun.

However, a lot of the maps seem to be very similar. The maps in ghost were quite varied and it was the first COD game where I actually outfitted a sniper kit.

And why is your guy the same color as all of your teammates on the hud? Getting oriented is harder as a result.

In a clear rejection of...I'm not sure what, the GOP has taken full control of congress.  Now we know that rather than almost nothing getting done, absolutely nothing will get done.

But, one thing is clear, the dems abuse of power wasn't tolerated at the grass root level and voters kicked them to the curb in a powerful way.  Now if there's a GOP president in 2016 we can finally get this country going in the wrong direction the other way. slywink

What abuse of power?

Read up on Snowden. Also drone strikes on US citizens. Also see: IRS scandal, appointing the former head of the cable lobby to the FCC, etc. etc.

None of which has much of anything to do with the president. All things that relate to the government as a whole.

Did you feel that way when the GOP was in the white house?  I seem to remember GWB being blamed for everything. EVERYTHING.

Anyway, the dems got their butts kicked just like the GOP did a few years ago.  I wonder why politics is so schizophrenic.  If we all know that neither party can run the country correctly, why aren't we figuring out somethign better?

Good tips!

How do you do a non-speed reload? I assume it's with a single X press, but I was doing that last night and still losing the rest of the ammo left in my magazine.

currently bugged and every reload is a speed reload.  when fixed it will be single tap is normal, double is speed

I don't think i'm shedding ammo after every reload...I'll have to double check.

just as an fyi, there have to be some dedicated servers going on because I've seen all 12 players have bad ping numerous times.  This can't happen in the old system since one person is the host.  I think the problems are more related to being thrown to distant servers and individual player lag + lag compensation instead.

I connected to a french host yesterday...at least i think so. Everyone speaking in french was kind of a give away i think..also they spent the whole game running away.

Just spent an hour getting absolutely brutalized in MP.  K/D is down to .79.  I feel like it's the usual 2nd day ATB does awful and hates the world blues.

I don't think the game is especially fast, but the verticality takes some getting used to for sure.  There's not really good explanation on what the exo powers do or in what circumstances you might want to use them...and I pretty much forget about them altogether. Compared to Destiny, the weapons just don't feel as tight or accurate and the controls, even though they're not all that different, don't feel as good.

I keep wanting to melee with the RB and that has cost me. I wish i could duplicate the destiny controls exactly. Maybe there's a way.

It seems like the ballers were all on this morning so maybe there will be more scrubs on this afternoon to make me feel better about myself. I think my prediction of trying to keep and maintain 1.0 will be accurate for this game. Perhaps 1.5.

So far the maps are pretty neat and varied. Don't have a sense of how many there are or how they are laid out.  Just liek with destiny, reading the mini map will take some getting used to as I have no idea what i'm looking at. It looks like there should be a guy coming around the corner, but then he comes from behind me..

We'll see. Other than being frustrated at getting merk'd, I'm enjoying it so far.
65  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on: November 04, 2014, 12:29:00 PM
Played about an hour or so of the sp and so far it's pretty neat. Lots of gadgets being thrown at you and it can be pretty overwhelming.

Did 3 or 4 mp matches and I really have no idea what I'm doing with anything.  I'm randomly turning on gadgets and when I mean to be throwing nades and having shields pop out of my arm when i mean to be meleeing.

It feels really tight so far and no issues with servers.  Got a 12 kill streak and used the UAV, remote turret and the Vulcan drone.  The turret was pretty spray and pray and seemed to take a lot of hits to kill a guy.  The Vulcan overheated  quickly and as a result of these limitations at least these two killstreaks seemed to be pretty balanced the one time I got to use them.  Seems like knife kills are just as op as always

Escaped with a 1.86 KD over this handful of matches.

Overall first blush impressions are quite good.

Is the new version too fast or too vertical?

If i had not played a bunch of destiny  MP, I would likely have been out for these reasons.  But playing that game has helped me get used to double jumping, vertical environments and pretty fast speeds.

I'm lowering my expectations with regard to how successful (K/D wise) I am, so I hope to enjoy it.
