40 miles this week is out the window.

My wake up times the last three days due to grouchy boy:

3:11 AM + 10.4 miles
4:00 AM
3:30 AM + 1.0 miles.

Once awoken up that late in the mornign, I cannot fall asleep. I valiantly tried to run this morning, made it one mile and was completely out of gas.

Scale is not going to be my friend for a while.

If get rest tonight, I might attempt a 10er tomorrow and 15+ on sunday. Otherwise it may just be a repeat of last weekend, 13.8.

so. tired.  disgust

So $50 less than a 360? You've got to be kidding me.

For the core system that no one wants...but still you have a point. However, with the Wii you'll have a game and 2 controllers for 300.00.  Not as great as I was hoping, but not terrible.

Still kinda down about the pricepoint, but I'm all in still at this point.

Yes but you told me the same thing almost 4 years ago (right after helping me build my brand new PC- ps. I love you) and your voice was the deciding factor in my getting an XBOX over the PS2.  In retrospect, it was the right decision at the time...meaning I'm pretty much just padding at this point and have nothing to say.

You ARE in the honeymoon stage if you have a backlog of AAA titles that have been out for years... you haven't moved passed them yet, and to you they are still NEW. To others who have played them, they have reaped the benefit of their collective gaming experience.

That makes perfect sense. I often forget how late to the party I am on things.

But but but: no one has played Okami.  If it turns out to be the greatest game at 'the end of PS2's run' you won't play it simply because it's on the PS2 and doesn't have achievements or HD graphics?

Dragon Quest VIII.  While the world is gradually unveiled, each section that you get is very large and there is a definite emphasis on exploration.  Also, there is a pretty neat monster recruiting min-game that you unlock after about a third of the game or so.

ATB, you are still in the "honeymoon" stage of your PS2 days.  If you had all the systems, I believe you'd think differently.  It's hard to go to the PS2 after playing the Xbox 360.  Not to mention that the Xbox 360 wireless controllers are so good that I don't want to get out the PS2 wired controllers.  Not to mention the Xbox Live experience and the achievements.  If I can play something on my own free time, I go for the Xbox 360.

Bah! I'm not in the honeymoon stage anymore. I reserve that for my precious....my DS (oh how I love you Polar White).

Your last sentence is the one I'll focus on.  Purge makes many good points, obviously, and mentions multi-platform games as well to good effect.  However-

It seems that we're missing a key factor here: does the 360 prevent you from wanting to play great games on different systems?

For example: One of the first games I played on the PS2 was Chrono Trigger.  Now, I could easily make the assertion that the PS2/XBOX effectively killed alll previous gaming generations. However, Chrono Trigger as a gameplay experience and story far surpasses much of any generation.   I did the same thing for MGS1. Oh and Shadow Hearts, and Devil May Cry...

Why are so many people chomping at the bit to get the virtual arcade on the Wii if previous gens are no longer playable?  Are any of you 360 owners even interested in the Wii? It's not exactly 'next gen' on the graphics front.

What about other classic games? There are no game points in those! You mean to tell me you'll never go back to play any of the Zeldas, Marios, Fallouts, Jagged Alliances, Warcrafts, Starcrafts, Mike Tyson Punchouts, Kid Icaruses, etc because of the 360?

So the 360 has basically shut the door on every game ever made prior to the 360s release?  I find that claim very hard to believe.

Someday I'll probably have a 360-  If I haven't played through my backlog, I don't see how it's possible for me not be able to go back to the PS2/DS. But then again, maybe I'm missing the point.

You can't use more than one at a time?  That certainly wasn't the case with the old plan... I've used $200 worth of reward zone coupons at a time.

PS2 hands down.

I had the Xbox for 4 years before getting one and it's great. However, the PS2 has a far better selection of all types of games and is still being supported with many blockbuster releases still due out.

Any reward zone members out there?  Is the new structure better or worse?

Quote
With one point for nearly every one dollar spent as a Reward Zone program member, it's easier than ever to keep track of your rewards.

Eligible Purchase Points Reward Certificates
$250 250 $5
$500 500 $10
$750 750 $15
$1,000 1,000 $20
$1,250 1,250 $25
$1,500 1,500 $30
$1,750 1,750 $35
$2,000 2,000 $40
$2,250 2,250 $45
$2,500 2,500 $50

You now get $5.00 for every 250.00 you spend or 2% back.  Previously, as best as I can tell (math is my achilles heel), it was better...but I can't get my head around the math as I can't remember what the point to dollar values used to be...

My breakfast today at 9:30 AM: 4 pieces of green pepper deep dish pizza from Dominos. Chips, goldfish, grapes and a Mt. Dew....

For...um.. dessert (for breakfast!?) I ate a large star crunch...  followed almost immediately by 3 TUMS.

So basically I had my daily intake of calories prior to 10 AM....and it was all crap (though pizza isn't that bad).

Fortunately, I ran 10.4 miles this morning so the calories aren't going to have that great of an impact as long as I go light the rest of the day and eat cereal for dinner.

Oh...I had two pieces of toast and a banana prior to the run...and an energy gel during.

Gah. Not my best day...and it's 11 AM!  retard
