Other than some Dead Rising on Friday Night I got nothing.  Did run 26.2 miles yesterday though... thumbsup

So I have a question about GOW coop.  According to a preview I read it sounds like a hoot...I'm guessing that the lads here will be up for some over live- and I'm planning to activate my free 1 month in early november to join the fracas.

That said, I've never done any multi except for some Doom2 way back in the day.  What's the expectation for us to battle? I know I'll be the weak link on a team...so will anyone play with me....please?  :icon_sad:

Not so. Mine had a question mark in the title and that makes all the difference.  Tongue

It's a marathon weekend for me too but of an entirely different sort. My Fair Lady was bid adieu not half an hour ago, I called in sick today, and have until Sunday afternoon when she returns all to myself. PARTY!!!! Going downstairs now to pound out another member of my backlog, then I may see if I can't knock out another one or possibly even two this weekend. The assault upon the backlog continues...

I'll trade you my marathon for yours...  icon_biggrin

This is marathon weekend eek for me so not much gaming at all.  I'll be traveling too for most of next week so my only gaming outlet will be the DS.

Hopefully I can wrap up BPOP this weekend and maybe get some time in with some other portable titles.

Challenge at the UN? Under what grounds?  Are they equating it to the Israeli fence?  If so, preposterous.

I guess those seeking a better life will now have to carry shovels.

Edit. Totally a political move for election time.  I'm so weary of the American political machine.

The only down side to using the play and charge kit while the 360 is powered off is that the fan still runs and is loud. It's very distracting when I'm trying to watch TV or do something else while in the same room. I don't know if I have a 360 with a FAN OF DOOM or not, but this alone steered me to the charger.

Ohh! From the Peanut Gallery.  Purge is knocked silly. Who knew that this would turn into the most dramatic thread in GT history!?

You don't need your 360 on to charge using play-n-charge kit either.

Step 1: plug "tether" into controller and into 360 while 360 is on, or turn it on if it was off.
Step 2: turn off 360 by using the power button on the system itself. (tap once)
Step 3: look at your tether connection. The red charge light should still be on even though the system and controllers are off.

It will continue to charge until it's full, and then turn that function off.

PWNED IKE. PWNED!

I just finished case 6 and have to say that I'm thoroughly enjoying this game.

I've had to replay a few sections as I've cut a few things a bit too tight, but otherwise I'm riveted.

Good story. Great action. Neat subplots.  It's easily back in A territory now.

FYI, the charger for the play'n'charge is a standard USB connection.  You can plug it into your computator and recharge it that way.  I turn off my 360 when I'm not using it, but I almost never turn off my PC.

Take that purge. Take it and like it!  er.

No, I was correcting statements above, and then indicated best practice (as you WILL get tired of AA's... trust me.) The play-n-charge kit IS worth the coin.

After 9 months with the play'n'charge deal, I switched to the quick charge kit and an extra battery. My battery no longer holding a charge also helped me make the switch. I like it better this way, never tethered!

If I were to do one or the other, the quick charge kit would be the way i go. I'm going to see how long regular batteries last and then decide...

ATB,

Regarding your optical cable keeping on coming out....ummmm....speaking from experience which I blame on late night assembly (sometime around 2:30 am).....not that you would ever do anything like this.....but look at the end of the optical cable.  There is a little plastic condom like cover over the ends of these that must be removed first before you insert.  The optical cable will then snap into place.  And yes, the optical cable will still work with the clear plastic cover over it.

- shaggy

Thanks Shaggy, but that's definitely not it.  It's that the place where the cable fits in is just not machined very precisely.

185 this morning which is a shock given the absolutely debaucherous eating weekend I had.

Sooooooooo- I made it through the first day tonight.

MUCH MUCH MUCH reloading of the single save and replaying through spots.

The psychopaths in the jeep barought about near controller breaking fury.

I nearly made a mistake that nearly cost me this game, as I probably would have turned it off and traded it in.

I was really coming up against the time limit on the first day's case. I had parts 3 and 4 or 4 and 5, whatever left, with very little time as I had to save the two japanese tourists...

So I get them safely back after killing the jeep psychos TWICE arghhhhhhhh.

Then I raced back to get to next case part only to finally understand how it all ties together.

After the 2nd to last component closed, I had less than an hour of game time to make it back to the safe room to complete the case.

I RACED as fast as I could and made it.  It was so tight though, that the start of the 2nd case cut scene happened immediately after the cut scene to end the first.  I would have lost it had I not made it. Absolutely lost it.

I enjoyment of this game is severely tempered by the frustrating elements...so it's a B rated game at this point.

The series introduced anime into the American mainstream with its popularity. It wasn't the first anime to make an impression on America, but it made arguably the strongest impression. Also, if your kids don't think cartoon characters can die then Robotech will introduce them to the concept very, very quickly.

Speaking of which, in the Macross part of the Robotech saga, there is a MAJOR event about 2/3 of the way into the story that will leave an impression. It did back in 1985 when I first saw it. Blew me away actually.

Ben Dixon's fate was the defining moment for me regarding animation in general (up to that point I believed no animated character could die),

For me the defining moment was Roy's death, and for the same reason.  Never could get back into GI Joe after watching Robotech...

For me it was the Transformers movies. God, the animated robots of yesteryear were mowed down like blades of grass to make room for new ones to occupy toy-store shelves.

It's hard to believe that it only lasted 4 seasons.

The movie was why it only lasted 4 seasons.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Killing Optimus Prime effectively killed the series.

Then you're obviously not a Robotech fan from way back. Nor did you at one point believe that Rick Hunter had to have existed and that he was watching you to see if you qualified to be beamed aboard the SDF-4 to become a Veritech pilot. Nor did you pretend that your bicycle was a Cyclone and that when you got off of it you turned into body armor and were on covert missions to infiltrate the Zentraedi base (in this case a Giant supermarket). Nor, obviously, was Robotech the defining cartoon of your childhood.  Nor did you have a crush on, in turn, Lynn Minmei, Lisa Hayes, or Rook Bartley.

Pshaw to you!

Actually, nothing could be farther from the truth. icon_biggrin Ben Dixon's fate was the defining moment for me regarding animation in general (up to that point I believed no animated character could die), I had a massive crush on Miriya (always went for the Amazonian chicks), and wanted a Veritech somthing fierce. If given the chance to live in a sci-fi universe this would rank #2 behind Star Wars for me.

But the game still sucks. nod

HOW DARE YOU!

The only thing you're worthy of now is being strapped to the front of the SDF-1's main gun prior to a Zentraedi assault.

No no. That' too good for you! You need to be strapped to one of the Daedelus arms prior to ramming!

Rick Hunter: Whiteboyskim, you're clearly not good enough to be on my RDF.  ATB is clearly the type of man we're looking for to lead Skull Squadron!
ATB: Why thank you sir! I agree whole heartedly.  Want me to feed him to the Invid?
