Perhaps I can learn the scheme over time, but I dont' have the time to dedicate to it at present. Perhaps after the holiday...

But man it's like learning to write with my left hand.

Spoiler for Hiden:
I'm right handed. That's why the analogy works.

If I recall correctly, halo let you invert both the x and y axisesesis(?).

No separate camera controls from the aiming/movement controls? What is this 1997?  icon_mad

Right now its a struggle to get through even the tutorial...when I want to move right I go left. When I want to look up I look down... mad

Same with the camera...if I invert the y to make the camera work the way I like it, the aiming is off.

For crying out loud, DR had independent camera/aiming...why not this 'halo killer'?

I'm glad someone pointed out the discrepancy. MS was touting that they would definitely have an install base of 10M by the time the PS3 came out and that the first one to 10M wins.

When will be able to find out what the Wiis hardware sales numbers are?
13488  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Weekend Playlist: Thanksgiving Edition on: November 22, 2006, 01:40:18 PM
For those of you not in the US of A, tomorrow marks Thanksgiving, a national holiday where we as Americans eat and eat and eat and eat (how is it different from every other day? Um...). It is also my personal favorite holiday. Lastly, it affords us a 4 day weekend consisting of what could be considered two holidays: Thanksgiving and Black Friday followed by the usual 2 day Saturday Sunday.

That said, I'm expecting the invasion of family to begin tonight (I'm really excited!), but as a result, the 360 shall be hidden from view.  Also, as we'll have guests sleeping in our tv room, console based gaming will be limited. So it looks like this weekend, while it could have been glorious (as I'm ready to break out Gears of War finally), most of my gaming will consist of:

Battles of Prince of Persia on the DS- Just four more missions!
Guitar Hero with the niece and nephews. Not II, though, as that's what we've purchased for the Nephews for Christmas...
Possibly some SSX Tricky on the ole XBOX.

Yeah, I dunno.  I thought King Kong was great, as was LOTR.

King Kong was unwatchable, imo.  I think I made it 45 minutes...wherever she's dancing for the monkey...that's when I pulled eject.

Hmmm...here's hoping MGS4 becomes a 360 title - I don't want to fork over the $$$ for the PS3 just for that game.  If the game does come out later, it'll sure be DAMN heard to not read impressions, get spoiled, etc. however.
I am fairly sure this rumor surfaced earlier-like 3 or 4 months ago-I think one of the XBox guys at MS let it slip-frankly I think if they can grease Konami's palms the right way it will make its way sooner than later. The 360 is definately going to have the lead in installed base when MGS4 comes out.

Though I've not played 3 yet, MGS is one of my favorite series ever...well through 2 slywink, and I hope that it does come to 360. That would be awesome.

The Economist which should be mandatory reading for everyone- especially those in the media as it's a perfect example of unbiased news reporting.

Entertainment Weekly: I have no idea how or why I started receiving this and I spend very little time looking at it. Emails requesting cancellation were ignored. Apparently my 'subscription' expires in December. Good Riddance

EGM: Really, the worst gaming magazine I've ever read. Got it through one of those free sub deals. Wanted to cancel it after the first issue, but couldn't figure out how. All emails were unanswered.

Wired: My favorite magazine.  Neat articles about neat stuff.

Well I got the true ending tonight so I'm chalking this game up as complete.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Not sure what the scream was about nor how he got out safely.  I thought the ending was a let down and that text to explain the outcome was a heinous cop out for the programmers...

Also, the end boss was a PITA.  I didn't like that it was a non-weapons show down as, other than kicks and an occaisional judo throw, I never used any of them.

I found an exploit on gamefaqs- get on the lower platform wait for him to jump down and kick him, he'll climb back up to the top and repeat all over....but man fighting brock- who had a bit part to say the least- kinda soured the ending for me.

Overall the game still rates an A+ for me and is a great intro in the current gen.

I'm thinking about hitting infinity mode, but don't know yet.

Also, of all my friends, I have the highest PP score. Huzzah for me!

and maybe the 54k zombie kill achievement  icon_twisted

You want the achievement. It gives access to the real best weapon in the game.

Maybe over time I'll work up to that. I'm almost done with the 4th day and only have 6600 kills.  Another 48k really seems like it would take a bit of time biggrin

I ended up grinding it. Just put on a custom soundtrack, grabbed some vehicles, headed down to the garage and ran over 54k zombies. Took about 2-3 hours. I then just went to the roof and waited for the helicopter (you have to get an ending before the achievement awards become available). It was worth it though, that weapon made my second run through the game so much fun. Actually ended up accomplishing every side and main story mission smile.

stop it stop it stop it! Must ignore...godhugh...

1. how HARD would it have to have been thrown to break the tv?

2. My guess is the Wii mote would break before the screen did

I bought it on release day. I played for three hours that night. I died, hit "save progress and continue" or whatever the badly described option is.. lost three hours of game progress, and proceeded to never play it again.

The save system is awful.

It's still sitting on my shelf. I keep thinking maybe I'll pick it back up.. but it hasn't happened yet. There's too many other games that save my progress in a manner that doesn't make me want to throw a brick at my 360.

I can't begin to tell you how many games have done that to many and thus I will never touch them again most likely.  After many hours of playing to lose it and do it all over again is a sure fire killer of fun for me.  Actually had that happen to me in Call of Duty 3 and thus I returned the rental and will not be picking up again.  Will wait for the PC version for many reasons, but yes, a bad or poor save system sucks badly.

I agree on all counts, but I personally don't consider it a bad save system...it works perfectly with this game.

Yeah, but you don't have to do that to "finish" the game, right?  So you can play GoW without losing your "bet".

Um, correct.  All achievements wasn't one of my criteria slywink
