As it is, this series has missed it's best conceivable 'gotcha' already - the original casting plan.  Imagine that discoteque scene being done with Arnold sitting at the bar, and Michael Beihn slaughtering people.  Watching Mike kick the crap out of Arnold would have been phenomenal.  Just my opinion.

Actually, Lance Henrikson was originally going to be the Terminator.

I also maintain that T2 does not hold up as well as the original does.

My opinion of T2 has been a bit of a rollercoaster.  I thought it was "OMFG, Amazing!!!" when I first saw it, a little while after that after CGI spectacles were a dime a dozen I wasn't very impressed anymore, but now I marvel at all of the great old fashioned stuntwork that we see so little of these days.

Also, T2 is one of the few cases where I definitely prefer the theatrical version to the extended cut.  Extended cut puts me to sleep but the theatrical  version remains pretty tight.

Overall, I'd still put T2 ahead of the first if for no other reason than T2 feels less dated and more timeless.  Terminator 1 feels a little "Too 80s" at times to the point it takes me out of the movie.

I'm going to have to say that T1 is still the best of the series with 2 a close second.  3 should be launched into the sun.

I am truly excited about this movie and I've never seen I or II.

I've seen the fight from II, of course, or the best moments of it at least at the beginning of III.

III is one of my greatest movie memories from childhood.  Mr. T and Hulk Hogan? Come on!

I watched Rocky IV again just a couple of years ago and I was screaming my head off.  What a great movie.

V should never have been made.

I've been meaning to do I and II...maybe I'll rent em.

Um. Hello. If you saw the first one you knew that the Terminator wasn't dead until his eyes went out. Well guess what. His eyes went out in T2.  I was like "Oh $h!&...I guess sarah's gonna have to figure a way out of this one."

However, it's that final scene in the bunker that redeemed the movie for me - John Connor, trapped with Kate Miller (Claire Danes), realizing that fate cannot be stopped and learning to accept it.  It's interesting how it entirely contradicts the T2 premise of "there's no fate but what we make".

That's the only good thing in the whole film.

T3 should have been entirely future based.  It should have shown the actual rise of the machines and the beginning of the war.

T4 should be Pt 2 of the actual war and end with Michael Biehn going through the time machine.

T5 should be the end of the war and the reemergence of humanity.

T6 should feature Tommy Machine Gunn as an up and coming Terminator Model who Arnie Knocks out in the street.

Ok I'm not serious about that last one...

T3 was fun.

Here that sound? That's the clue phone ringing. You may want to answer it so you can get a clue.

Quote from: other crazy guy
T3 was better than it had any right to be despite more than a few choices that were just... odd. If I had one majorly negative thing to say it would be the whole film felt rushed.

If you compare 3 to the first two which are both masterpieces, it's not even ironically laughable at how poor T3 is.  1 and 2 are events with complex science fiction plots intertwining.  3 is a popcorn action movie.  It doesn't belong in the series. It's like Rocky V.

Was there any doubt in T3 that Arnie would win?

In T1 you had no idea if the good guys would win. In T2 they actually convinced you that Arnie was dead.  Talk about suspense.  T3. Terminatrix. PLEASE!

What's the story in this movie?  Trailer sure doesn't convey it. Die Hard: masterpiece. DHII: Very good. Great small part work by a pre NYPD Andy Sipowitz. DHIII: ATROCIOUS DHIV: by the trailer, makes III look like I.

Now I will say that we don't get bonuses ever as that's not our reward structure. But in the past, we did get small AMEX gift checks for what is considered being tops.  Now we're tops again in two places- it's never happened before.  And we got that.

After 11 months, I have given Vonage the boot.

We experienced voice drops from the get go but the 15.00 or so per month savings (X2) was worth the occaisonal issue.

Then, of course, the voice drops out completely when I receive or send large files.  Hmm Okay. I'll try to avoid doing that when I'm on a call.

A bit later, for whatever reason, my ability to dial into conference calls became spotty. Okay. This is now impacting my ability to earn a living.

Then, within the past 3 weeks it has been: voice drops, the problem with the files, having to say hello for 15 seconds before the person calling us can hear us, having to wait 10 seconds for a dial tone,  having to wait 25 seconds before outgoing calls actually ring and a partridge in a pear tree.

So I called Embarq (formerly Sprint- who I have never heard ANYTHING GOOD about (either wireless or voice) <sigh>) and are using them as my local and long distance carrier.

Adios 21st century. Welcome back 20th!

So there's a story on 60 minutes tonight about the guy who blew the whistle on the AG situation.

He is so unpopular now, that he has to live in a secret location. His lifelong friends abandoned him and he's viewed as a rat.

Military people/former or current- Is the bond between soldiers SO strong that morality must be eschewed to protect that bond?

He's drawing lots of fire because he exposed the prison scandal. It's 'bad for America'.

The quote that really got me is 'Never put the enemy before your fellow soldiers'.

I was flabberghasted at that!

I cannot understand the band of brothers phenomenon as I've never served, but how can a man be considered a traitor for upholding a moral code that is even greater than that of the military?

I'm not asking the question well, but this story has shaken me.
