Agreed.  There are some I'll go back through a game and try to get, but some I won't bother with.  The only ridiculous one that I'm seriously contemplating is the 55k zombie kils in Dead Rising.  But I don't know if I will.  10k will probably be enough.

Meeting new people who are cool, that's what.

I largely figured that I would play online solely with folks from here and BC, but have been fortunate to find at least 3 other groups of guys/gals who play GoW MP pretty consistently, who play fair, don't take it too seriously, teach each other how to improve, mix up the teams when it's obviously imbalanced and otherwise enjoy the the experience.

True I started out just a few weeks back relying on you cats, and  it's still a hair more fun when I play against you guys (though it's been tougher of late calvin paranoid peterock), but as said there are 3 to 4 groups who I look for online everytime I'm in the mood to MP. Last night for example, I was up till 3:30 with some guys I hooked up with last weekend.

Most of them have added me to their friends lists- and I them, obviously- and they invite me pretty consistently.  I'm very pleased with how it has worked out.

I'm actually rather surprised at the frequency with which I've found good players vs. bad players.  Perhaps it's because once I find the fun ones I tend to hang out with them, but again it has been great...and it has totally changed the way I play games.

Yeah, I'm not one of their 'core' gang, but I'm cool with being on the fringe as it were. So, I'm hoisting a glass to XBL!

I think the reason that it tracks it like that on a demo is that if you ever buy it, it will give you the achievements you already earned.  So, it is kind of initializing it.

I don't think demos allow for achievements do they?

If you try a demo of an arcade game it goes into your record and says you have 0 of 200 achievement points.  I mean that's stupid.  Why does it track demos as a game you've played?

Also, anyway to remove that from the records?

If the dogs weren't involved, I probably would have just taken the package so it wasn't stolen or damaged and left a note saying I had it and try talk to them as soon as they come back.

I would do that and have done that for other neighbors, but I don't have any trust for this family (due to the concerns stated above as well as an overall unfriendliness- even coldness) that they would accuse me of stealing 'something' else.

This has been very hard to reconcile with the love your 'enemies' principal.  Howevever, God has given me reason and a family to be accountable for, so it's not a risk I'm willing to take.

BTW- The police came within 15 minutes of the call.  They went over to the house and question and looked like they were trying to gain entry.  We thought, we'll they're going to be confiscating the dogs. Then a second unit rolls up. They confer for a bit...question the neighbors to either side and then leave without a word back to me.   :icon_confused:
13380  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Ethical Dilemma on: December 24, 2006, 03:36:36 PM
Answer the poll question before reading the spoilers.

My neighbors have two pitbulls. They have been out of town at least 3 days- possibly 4.  I assume they will be gone through Christmas and best case scenario returning on the 26th. So that leaves a gap of 6-7 days that they will be out of town.

The dogs are locked in the garage. I assume with food and water, but don't know. I'm confident that there's no doggie door access to the backyard.  I know the owners are not home. I know that no one in the neighborhood is looking after the dogs.  There has been a package on their front stoop for 3-4 days so I know no one is checking on the house or the dogs.  What should I do?  What would you do?

Spoiler #1:

Spoiler for Hiden:
Past History:

At one point those pitbulls attacked me and my dog (no damage done as the owner was right behind them) and I reported it.  At another time they killed another dog in the neighborhood (no charges filed as they were being walked on leashes and the dog that was killed was loose).  Animal control has been called several times about how they mistreat the animals and that they should not be walked together. My neighbor basically stopped walking them altogether.

Spoiler #2

Spoiler for Hiden:
What I did:

I called the police.

So the bosses of our team sent out a Christmas holiday card and they all signed it.

Inside was the treasure of treasures.  One scratch off lottery ticket valued at $1.00!  Great googily moogily. They spent $80 or so on the whole team for the holidays!  Is this an insult or do I have too high of expectations?

PS. The ticket is actually worth less than $1 because it wasn't a winner.

No good.

To cancel the warranty you must:

Write a letter to:

XBOX 360 Service Contract Dept
Microsoft Corporation
One Microsoft Way
Redmond WA 98052-9953

Including: Name, Address, 360 Serial Number, Warranty Order Number, telephone and email address.

They will isssue a refund.

My letter is going out today!
