Dragonlance Chronicles

This was my first thought, actually.  I discovered them in 7th grade and read them voraciously. I had never heard of Tolkien or LOTR or any of that stuff so I was completely mesmerized by the 'originality' and scope.

The reason I didn't put it, though, was that I tried to re-read them as an adult  just found the writing appallingly bad.

But I guess the thread is read again for the first time .

Question re: The Stand.

Never read it. Not a huge SK fan. But I really enjoyed the miniseries with Sinise...20 years ago?

Still worth the read if I kinda already know what happens?

The River Why: An amazing under-recognized American classic by David James Duncan. It is a true masterwork.

Number One:  Cannery Row by John Steinbeck. I read it again about every 3 years and it still makes me shake my head in wonder at the artistry of Steinbeck.

Honorable Mention: The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Sparse and brilliant.

I think you're talking to KD but i'll answer.

Basically it's calorie counting via Myfitnesspal.com.  And I began exercising again.  I used to rely solely on running, but we bought bikes a month and a half ago and that has been the difference. Alternating biking with running has really helped me to stay consistent and avoid fatigue and avoid injury.

I'm losing on average 2.5 per week.  Goal is to get back down to my HS weight (180) by August.

But it's all calorie counting.  Calories in/calories out.

The only advantage I can think of for the PS4 is that it's Japanese and it might get some exclusive JRPGs that I must have (Persona 5?)  But then again, we don't know yet.  One of the best JRPGs recently was a fucking Wii exclusive.

I think the bigger issue for indies is on the MS platform is the certification process and the expense of it.  Also, if they have issues with the game and need to patch, i believe there's a big fee they have to pay to get it pushed and most can't afford it...

If a company does a presentation on a long awaited product and doesn't answer people's most important questions, those people have a right to form an opinion. It's called bad marketing and public relations and if it affects sales and/or public perception of the product it's squarely on the shoulders of the company in question.

I'm not arguing that Teg. I'm arguing that it's too soon to have formed an opinion on XB1 (and it's success or failure) based on what they've showed so far knowing that a bunch of it will likely change or that they haven't told the full story so far.

It's like we as an audience haven't learned a thing in our years in this hobby. This always happens.  Press release. People excoriate what was said and make rash judgments. Product releases....and everything's fine.

Of course he does, its to not form opinions on things they tell us but instead hope they arent true and something different will appear instead. Which may of course happen if enough fuss is made. Instead we should all just shut up and let it happen

I still maintain that it's far too soon to make a decision either way about either console.  I probably won't be buying either or if I do it won't be for several years so I'm in no hurry regardless.

I own both now, but use my 360 far more because that's the type of gamer I am (and the controller is inarguably far better).  Will be getting Last of Us though .
