I hate halo, but there is literally nothing else to play so I might get this.

3  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: How far would you commute for a significant pay raise? on: March 30, 2015, 02:59:36 PM
12 per hour more is no joke. I wish you had said percentages instead...to better get the weight of it.

But that = almost 500.00 a week and almost 25k per year. That is a a LOT of money..on top of the insurance savings...

Figure in wear and tear on your car too, though...

Not sure where you are in your life/family stages, but if you can grind that position out for a couple years knowing that it could raise your profile and get you even greater opportunity with  less sacrifice in the future, I'd do it.

Verizon. The bill makes my knees buckle every month, but their coverage is bullet proof. Also I'm grandfathered into unlimited data.

Break a leg!  His preferably. (Its just an expression, I'm told)

I actually tried to do that during the fight.  My opponent never bothered to check any of my kicks. After I landed the first leg kick hard, he looked at me in horror and I knew he didn't want to be there anymore.
4 hour drive, 66 seconds in the ring, 6 legs kicks for a TKO in the first.  Dude was out of shape and he looked scared.  Felt bad. I think his whole family came out to watch him fight. Drove home. High fived the wife and drank a little vodka leftover from Harkonis's last visit.

Congratulations, Kato!  So did he verbally quit?

Also, did you taunt his moms and pops after you leapt to the top of the cage?

Okay, I'm terrible at these games, but I just wanted to come in here and boast my all time best game.  First place!  3.00 D/K ratio.  2000+ score (more importantly, it was more than six hundred over the next lowest score). And, for the first time in my life, I called in my third score streak bonus: The Goliath.  I have no idea what happened to it.  I think it got destroyed.  It may have even been taken over by the enemy, if that's a thing, but who cares, I got to call it in.

I'm sure this'll mostly get a pat on the head and a response of "Isn't that cute" from many of you, but I'm psyched!

Better than I ever did in AW.   thumbsup

Pixar hasn't been must watch for me since that disaster TS3.

Haven't seen Brave.

Have finally played through the latest map pack.

3 of the 4 maps I really like. Only have played Hanger 21 one time and got absolutely lost and destroyed.

Pretty sure I'm not getting hardline...as I'm still loving this game so much. Hopefully it won't become a ghost town when HL is released.

So how does the regular man size up? The mean length of a flaccid penis is 3.6 inches, and the mean length of an erection is 5.16 inches, according to a paper titled "Am I Normal?" published Tuesday in the British Journal of Urology....If you're keeping score at home, an average guy's erect circumference is 4.59 inches, the researchers found.

Discuss. Or don't. Just don't measure yourself at work.

34  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Agency in your Dreams? on: February 24, 2015, 02:30:21 PM
Had a dream I was captured by Isis (probably not a good idea to look at images of captured Peshmerga troops being paraded in cages before bed time).

In the dream I'm terrified because I'm familiar with what happens to the people they capture.  I wonder how I'll hold up to their propaganda whether I'll read their statements or if I'll be defiant.

They lead me into a basement and I see bloody hooks on the ceiling and I think to myself 'that's enough for me' and in the dream I close my eyes and then I wake up in real life.

I've been able to do this pretty consistently when having a bad dream for a long time now and it seems to be something happens that is a major stress point- like I can't find one of my kids or I've had a car accident and I realize this isn't real and I don't need to endure this. So I close my eyes and wake up IRL.

It doesn't have to be as traumatic (and it's usually not) as the ISIS dream, it can be something annoying like I can't find my keys or I've made a mistake at work.

When I was a kid I was able to exercise a little bit of agency in my dreams- like controlling what I saw, but nothing consistently.

What about you fellows?

Good point ATB, but there is one big difference between pro and amateur weigh ins.  Pro fight weigh-ins take place a day before, while amateur weigh in on fight day just a few hours or even less before they fight.

icon_eek Well yeah. That would make every bit of difference. Would totally stay at your weight then.
40  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Help/Advice for amateur fighting on: February 18, 2015, 06:59:08 PM
Yeah I can't officially help you, but from my years of watching MMA I've seen a few things...though I admit it's not an informed position.

There are pro fighters who cut 25lbs from their walking around weight- some even more.

Is there no way for you to cut that last 5 simply through dehydrating (in a managed way) and then re-hydrating after weigh in?

Or do you think those last five pounds would drain you so bad that you'd be bonked for the fight?
