They gave it a 1.  The lowest score I have ever seen them give.  It looks like it really sucks.

This one is getting trashed everywhere as being nothing more than a lame cash-in.  I'm as big of a FF as you'll find, and even I wouldn't touch this with a 10-foot pole.

Disappointed that Squeenix would release something like this, but not terribly surprised.  Their app store strategy is baffling.

PA Report: Final Fantasy: All the Bravest on iOS is a steaming pile of in-app purchasing horseshit

The final sentence: "This is garbage."

To buy everything it would cost OVER FIFTY BUCKS.

What the holy mother of fucking fuck is Squenix smoking? Do they have ANY fucking idea of what they're doing?

Or are the people they keep making this shit for too fucking stupid and they keep buying it all?!

Sad thing is, the core concept of the game actually has some potential.  Unfortunately, it was implemented in the absolute laziest and greediest way possible.

Isn't the core concept of the game to swish your finger around without any regard for strategy or timing?  The Penny Arcade and Game Informer articles make it sound less interactive than a Three Card Monte table.  At least there you have the challenge of trying to figure out how the scam works.

I was thinking the core concept of quick, reflex-based combat in a retro-based FF world

Yeah, paying $20 for the iPad version of TWEWY was a bitter pill to swallow, but at least it's the same price as the DS version of the game (unlike paying $10 more for FFTactics on iPad compared to the PSN version). This is just nonsense. Square Enix need to pull their collective heads out of their asses, or they're going to tank, hard.

Which is sad, because their western division is pretty awesome. Shame they had to buy Eidos.

Maybe someday when they've finally burnt through all their brand equity, but it won't be any time soon.  Squeenix games are consistently at the top of the charts in terms of revenue generation in the app store.

Releasing blatant cash grabs like this ATB game is going to backfire on them eventually though.

I bet ATB didn't even sign off on this one.
