I was reading this article on TouchArcade about upcoming games on ios and wondered if people here had anything they were excitedly waiting for next year.

Their list:

Dungeon Keeper
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
Mines of Mars
Out There
Final Fantasy VI
Mew-Genics
Final Fantasy Agito
Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf
Fright Fight
Battleheart Legacy

The big things I see missing are FTL and Baldur's Gate 2.  I am very excited about those two.

What is on your list?

The new Sonic All Star Racing game immediately comes to mind.

Battleheart is probably my all time favorite iOS game, so really looking forward to the sequel. I do have my doubts that they can recreate the magic of the first one though. I could take more of the same, but it sounds like they are going in a different direction with it.

After that would be FTL, it's the perfect game for iOS.

Out There looks pretty cool, as does Mines of Mars. FTL was fun, but I didn't love it as much as most seemed to feel.

Yeah, I suppose farley should fix the title.

Ditto on Battleheart.  While there have been a ton of clones and variations on the original BH, the original was still a classic.  I would have loved a sequel with slightly deeper gameplay (more skill choices, more classes, etc).  The new game looks like a very different game, but from the gameplay footage they showed it still looks fantastic.

I never did play FTL on the PC so I'm definitely looking forward to that on iOS as well.

I would hope not, just because I think it would be too cluttered for a touch game. Trying to close a door could be a nightmare.

Why not Windows Phone games? There's Windows Phone 7 and Windows Phone 8 games. Plus, there are all the not-so-smart-phone games too!

(like, all 3 of them!)

I think the title needs to reflect all of that.

... and also Blackberry. slywink

I don't track upcoming iOS games that much, so Final Fantasy VI is about the only thing that jumps to mind.

We can cross Dungeon Keeper off the list. If you read any iOS gaming sites you probably have already heard the stink over the timers and paywalls. Eurogamer and TouchArcade gave it 1/10 and 1/5 respectively.

Yeah, Dungeon Keeper is going to become the shining example of the potential horrors of free-to-play schemes the way horse armor became the favorite example of the potential horrors of DLC schemes.

There are some really promising ones coming fairly soon:

Second Chance Heroes (just submitted for approval)
Uhr - Warlords (mentioned in a separate thread, also just submitted)
Dungelot 2 (recently submitted)
Bug Heroes 2 (2/20 release)
Lionheart Tactics (3D-ish FFT-like game, soft launched in NZ, not sure what the delay is here)
Fates Forever (Touch-based MOBA, also soft launched for a while now)

...and in the works but looking really good:

Battleheart Legacy
World Zombination

Mobile gaming is pretty crazy good these days, it's starting to dominate my gaming time.

Looking forward to the sequel to 10000000 which the dev has said he's going to make free to everyone who owns the first one.
