yep, my big draw was Sheboygan 2: Dividend of Ten and that hasn't been as stellar as it could have been.

I actually hold you responsible for me buying a Vita, since I wasn't even aware that Shinobido 2 existed until you mentioned it.  I was on the fence before, but the prospect of a Tenchu clone pushed me over...shame the game absolutely sucked donkey balls.

If this system flops, I'm sending you an invoice.

Therein lies the difference:  you think the launch lineup is incredible and it "blows you out of the water", while I (and others, I suspect) only find it mildly compelling.

yep, my big draw was Sheboygan 2: Dividend of Ten and that hasn't been as stellar as it could have been.  I can easily afford one, but what's the point of grabbing it for nothing?  now the Game Heaven presentation should have some potential, even if Vice City Nights was fake.

as for doom and gloom, it's a console launch, so it's going to be out there.   just accept it and have another 6 beers or so.

I will take you up on those beers. I work in a brewery, what do you expect!?!;) generally speaking, this console looks to be headed in a great direction. That is all.slywink

I have to agree with Harpua, it's much too early to start predicting success or failure. I'm not sure why gamers have a tendency to label things failures so prematurely, as if a system not selling astronomical numbers automatically makes it a flop. Let's see what Sony has up its sleeves, they've got a wealth of phenomenal in-house teams that could be working on a killer app as we speak.

The 3DS was labeled a flop, and I just read a report that mentioned it's current sales were outpacing the DS (though I'll be surprised if ithas that unit's dominant staying power).

Anyone gotten their Super StarDust code via email from AT&T yet?  Tomorrow will be exactly one month since I got my FEB and got it on the AT&T network.  Was hoping to have it before my trip tonight to Pittsburgh.

You know, I was looking at the release list on Gamestop, and there's a big problem for Vita (whether you're in Pittsburgh or not).

Some people may want Disgaea 3 mid-April or Mortal Kombat at the beginning of May, but for me, the next release of any interest is Resistance on 5/29.  Then Gravity Rush 6/12.  LBP 6/26.  And that's it until maybe Warrior's Lair at the end of freaking September.

That's 3 game's between now and the end of the summer.

E3 better have a lot of imminent release announcements, but even if it does, that's in June.  I've only got one release of interest between now and then.

EDIT:  Here's what I think happened:  You had this thread and the Random YouTube one open.  You thought you were reading this one, when you saw I had posted the Flying RC DeLorean.  You decided to mock me for posting in the wrong forum.

How's that petard feeling?   icon_wink

Actually, hover over or click on the link you have in the previous post as "release list on Gamestop"... Flying RC Delorean. That's all I was trying to point out, no mocking or petard hoisting intended nor needed.

Despite the flying DeLorean links...   icon_confused

Yeah, most post-system-launch times are pretty dry for new titles, but they're really going to need a Super Mario 3D Land-type big title to bring people flooding back to the system later this year after the drought of spring and summer.

This actually doesn't sound bad at all to me.   It was a LONG time between when the 3DS launched and there were any new games that interested me.    You just named 3 coming up in about a month and a half that all interest me...coming on the heels of a pretty decent launch line up.

I'm not sure how or why you think this is bad?

They could deal a big blow to the whole "slow release" thing if they just pushed out an update which allows PSOne games to work.  Not a knockdown punch perhaps but if suddenly we could play all the PSOne games available on the Playstation store I personally would be happy waiting for Vita releases.  Of course lots of people don't want to play old stuff so it won't make everyone happy.

Amen to this.  I've got a whole bunch of PSOne games that I would kill to play on the Vita.  Realized yesterday that I'm actually spending more time with Chrono Cross and Xenogears on my PSP than I have been with anything on this shiny new system.  frown

+1 to the PSOne games.  I actually already moved my saves for a bunch of those games in anticipation.

I also bought a handful of PSP games, with the general rule being nothing over $10, since that was limit for the passport program anyway (although I was hoping for far less than that).

It’s been almost three months since we launched PS Vita here in the U.S. and we’re continuing to find ways to add to your portable entertainment experience. With the recent launch of non-gaming apps such as Paint Park, Treasure Park and Wake Up Club, the PS Vita is an ever-evolving platform that keeps you connected to the content and experiences that are most important to all of you gamers.
What PSP games are you most excited to play on PS Vita?

That's a long list, but there's not that much I'm interested on it.  What I am interested in is the line I put in bold about improving graphics and playability on Vita.  Interestingly, they've since taken that line out of the post.  Does that mean it's not happening?  Or is it that they didn't want to over promise something that wasn't a big deal?  Or is it some initiative that they're saving for a bigger reveal?

I'm betting the second one, but there are certainly some games that would benefit from rejiggering to use the second stick.  I would be very excited for that.

Sweet, I'd be interested in picking up a few improved PSP games that I never got around to playing before, like Dead Head Fred, Split/Second, and such.

To me, one of the biggest problems with the PSN store is that I can't even see screenshots of games I want to buy, let alone videos or demos.  I'm not going to just randomly buy PS Minis or other games I'm unfamiliar with if I can't see what they are.

Yeah, not looking so good there, which is too bad because the Vita needed a high quality big name game.  So far, though, two of the 4 reviews are at different ends of the spectrum.

At least Gravity Rush is getting really good reviews.

Did they make PS1 compatibility official?  I may actually use my Vita now!  smile

The PS1 compatibility is a little confusing at the moment. They said PS1 classics will be coming in the summer. They didn't explain if previously purchased PS1 games will work on the system, or we'd have to rebuy.

They also implied that it would be a slow rollout.  They only mentioned two PS1 games (FF VII and another that I forget) as being available at launch.

I have a handful of PS1 games that have worked on the PS3 and PSP.  I will not be rebuying them.  I can't imagine that would go over well.

I was expecting a lot more Vita love at the presentation.  Unless I missed it, they only mentioned the Assassin's Creed game and the COD game.  The Super Sony Bros Melee game seems to be the same as the console version along with the Bioshock game (or is that one different).  There's also some LBP DLC.

None of that is happening soon.

We've got nothing interesting between now and October (apart from Gravity Rush, of course).

Can someone at the show say if there are more games that Sony didn't actually mention?

Although the fact that they didn't mention any is evidence enough that they didn't learn anything from the PSP.
