Yes, as much as I am looking forward to Vita games, I am also looking forward to playing PSP games on that screen.  I wonder if Vita takes care of the lag issues in Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions since it is more powerful.

Oh I know, but it's good to see them sell out even if Walmart just understocked them (possible).    To the unwashed masses that don't know the gaming industry tricks:   Sold out means TOTALLY AWESOMES MUST HAVES!!!!!!!.

Uhhh... yeah.  Big time.   Little Deviants should have been a package deal with every Vita.   The First Edition Bundles should have received Uncharted like they did in Canada.

Even more of a reason why it should have been part of the package. As it is, it's not worth paying for, but it would have been much better received if it was free. It's not like we're spoiled when it comes to this kind of thing. With the exception of Wii Sports, I can't think of any excellent games included with launch consoles ever.

nice.  oddly enough that's the only game I'd consider buying from what I've been interested in from the stream. Uncharted didn't wow me, and I missed the Rayman portion.

they're showing Dungeon Hunters Alliance right now-  the game looks very familiar, gotta love Gameloft

I watched nearly and hour and a half of the Giant Bomb live thing, and was thoroughly unimpressed with the PS Vita. The games I saw were all rehashes of the bigger console versions, with gimmicky touch screen stuff occasionally integrated. No doubt it's a very impressive piece of hardware, but the launch games I saw didn't make me want to go get one right away. Maybe after 6 months to a year from now there will be more exciting games available, but as far as system launches go, I'll be sitting this one out.

LOL.  Is this your first system launch?  They are all like that...well except the 3DS which just didn't bother to have games at all.

And I might add that you will not have to wait 6 months to a year.   Gravity Rush will launch sometime in the next 60 days most likely, and it got rave reviews (almost perfect score) from Famitsu.

We don't usually get pretty much straight out ports of games from older consoles when a new system comes out (FIFA, Virtua Tennis).  So I get Jimmy's comment about them mostly being rehashes.

Well if that game and whatever else is coming in that time frame are compelling enough, I'll pick up the Vita.

From what I saw in the GB video:

Dynasty Warrior - never been a fan of that series.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - already played that game on Xbox and PS3.
FIFA - seems like the same exact game on the Xbox/PS3 which I already have.
Hot Shots Golf - I have the last one on PSP. The Vita version doesn't seem that much different except for the touch control stuff.
Michael Jackson Experience - uh no thanks.
Little Deviants - seems like a bunch of mini-games. Mildly interesting but not enough to make me think I have to get it on launch day.

Now to be fair, the games I am most interested in are Uncharted and Wipeout which I didn't get to see. Reading some of the reviews though, Uncharted surprisingly seems not as highly rated as people seemed to assume.

I've bought into just about every system launch in the last 20 years or so and I know that most launches consist of rehashed game franchises. Just from what I saw, the rehashed games don't have enough new or different in them to warrant getting a Vita at launch. I'm hoping there will be some really good RPGs for the system in the future though. That's probably when I'll pick one up.

Good point about the RPGs. RPG developers haven't exactly embraced iOS there isn't a damned thing coming out for 3DS.

Based on reviews, I'm dropping Wipeout from my list.    Uncharted will also have to drastically drop in price for me to even pick it up next month now.

However, Rayman has taken over as a launch title purchase for me.

I have Rayman on the Xbox and it is an awesome game. I'll pick it up for the Vita at some point as well, since it seems to be a great port of the game and will be nice to have it in portable form.

Are you getting the 3G or Wifi only version?   3G gets Stardust included with AT&T activation.

Ouch.    Woke up this mornig and checked my email like I always do at 6 am before getting ready to go to work.

Amazon.com email saying my payment had been denied.    WTF?   I don't have much on my credit card and it should be working fine.    My guess is that it's working TOO fine and they are doing one of those fraud prevention checks on this order.     This would delay processing of my order while I contact the CC and then try to get in touch with Amazon to get them to run the card again.

So instead, and against my better judgement, I changed to my Visa Debit card.    It goes through fine and about 30 minutes later my status changes from Not Shipped to Shipping Soon.

I'm just kinda waiting here to make sure that it actually ships out today like it's supposed to in order for me to get it tomorrow.

Anyone else have an Amazon order?   Has it shipped yet?

Still hating the lack of Virtua Tennis reviews.    I'm alarmed somewhat that the Official Playstation Mag rated it at 70%.    Wouldn't they tend to trend higher on their reviews since they are the Official mag?    I'm needing to see additional reviews to make sure they aren't in the 50's or something for this title.    I can handle 70% range...

IGN doesn't even have it on their radar screen for a review.

Once it changes to Shipping Soon, then it means it will be shipping in the next 24 hours. 99% of the time that has ment the same day for me. You should be fine.

I preordered at Best Buy, so I will be going in tomorrow at 10AM sharp and picking it up.
